After spending a couple of months hunting for the right mix of specs and price, I finally settled on this one. It's lightning-fast after you get rid of some of the bloatware. The screen could be better quality, but for the price, it is alright. This one comes with eye-tracking (tobii), but I have yet to find a use for it and just turned it off so I don't have 3 red lights burning into my eyes. I love the back-lit keyboard. I have it on a slowly-changing calming color scheme. I experienced a problem when I first set it up, though, and it's the same problem I had with two previous MSI laptops. They come with some kind of weird configuration that gives you significant color-banding issues (where what should be gradual color transitions looks like color-by-number bands instead). There is a work-around, but it was extremely irritating right out of the box and it gives you a warning message that you can void the warranty. I've also had to reconfigure it twice after automatic updates. Sound is okay, if a little lopsided. There is a woofer on the left side that kind of makes the sound a little unbalanced, but I don't notice it much when I'm gaming. Overall I don't feel excited about this laptop, but it has everything I want for a price that didn't break the bank. I'm hoping some decent VR software will come out soon so I can justify getting a VR headset and really see what this machine can do.

Bought laptop to run architecture software. Although this is basically a gaming computer - it is perfect for software that requires a higher end computer for complicated software. Able to take computer to Architect lab with 3D saftware downloaded.

This is a monster machine. It is incredibly fast. The eye tracking is pretty cool.

This laptop is awesome. I was originally looking for a different laptop that for whatever reason.... could not be acquired. I was offered this as a replacement. First impression is "this thing is heavy!". Battery life unplugged is sub par, but this is a desktop replacement so plan to keep it plugged in during gaming. Great touch pad with actual buttons, keyboard is awesome, and sounds great. The cooling is where it really shines..... i stay under 70 C when gaming which is awesome (with the fans on high). You have the ability to over clock your internals using the afterburner software included as well as customize your keyboard and your sound experience. I originally purchase the gs63vr with gtx 1060 and it would get so hot i couldn't use it on my lap.... this, while much heavier, is much better in the cooling department. Overall... if you can get passed the battery life and how heavy it is then its an amazing laptop!!!
