Purchased this thermostat after seeing the one my daughter purchased and all the great features. The unit's form and function are unique and easy to use. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the product, even in the packaging. I highly recommended it for some one that wants an easy to use and easy to program thermostat. The free AP is awsome also.

It's not just a thermostat. It's THE thermostat. You think you are energy efficient, just WAIT until you get this baby hooked up. Half a month later, we are already down $10 on our bill. AND THAT'S WITHOUT CHANGING OUR HABITS. Forget to turn the temp down before you leave? It does it for you!! {Based on motion detection and previous adjustment history.} Don't trust the machines? Use the app to double check and adjust!! (From the couch because you are just TOO lazy to get up) Worried that your house may be too humid? It lets you know this too!! It's hooked up to Wi-Fi in your home and knows (because probably Skynet) what the weather is outside and adjusts accordingly. It even looks cute. This is the Cadillac of thermostats. You won't regret it. It's super easy to hook up - even my husband could do it!!! I would recommend this to a friend because I HAVE RECOMMENDED IT TO A FRIEND! There's all kinds of fun nifty graphs on the app as well. So you can see how much of an energy suck you are - graphically! So buy it! Buy it now!!

Super easy to install and it looks really nice on the wall. Best part of the Nest is the scheduling abilities and auto learn function. Saves me lots of energy and money on my monthly bill. The app makes it even more convenient for adjusting the thermostat when I'm not home. The monthly reports also help me pinpoint when I'm using the most energy. I hope one day they come out with a software update to make it compatible with the Amazon ECHO. The compatibility to the smoke detector and camera are awesome!

One of my favorite Nest features, besides being able to control my thermostat from anywhere, including my bed, is the Auto Away feature. Because the thermostat senses motion around itself, it automatically shuts down your heating or cooling when you're away.

Straight forward installation and fantastic support. If you are using their website you can find tools to map the wires from your old thermostat to your new.

I purchased two Nest thermostats and installed each of them in no time at all. It took longer to spackle and paint, and trim the existing wires, than it took to install the thermostats.

Our first New England winter and we have been blindsided with blizzards ...and heating bills. This will certainly help reduce the bills. If only Nest could control the weather too!

My handy husband was able to install the Nest thermostat, and we find it much easier to use than our previous electronic thermostat. We are retired, so I didn't expect it to be able to develop a schedule for us quickly. I set an overnight and daytime schedule, but within a week or so , was notified that Nest was able to set auto-away. It waits a couple of hours before it turns down the heat, which is perfect for us. Then, when we are getting ready to come back home, I use the mobile app to turn up the heat so the house is warmed up when we get there. I'm sure we are saving energy too! Easy to use, easy to read, We love it!

We bought a Nest shortly after moving into a new home, and it's worth the price to upgrade. Very easy to setup. If you're slightly handy, you can do it yourself — just look for some how-to videos online instead of hiring someone to install it. The Nest looks great on the wall, easy to use when adjusting temperature, you can monitor/change temperature on your phone, and it learns your habits so you end up saving energy.

It took 10 minutes to install my Nest, they even provided a screwdriver in the box. If you are not mechanically inclined it might have taken 11 minutes. Your Nest will learn more each week, and give you new information as time goes on, like how long it will take to heat your house to the temperature you want. You can set it from anywhere from your phone, like when you are driving home after a late night out and want the house toasty. Nest Support Rules! My original thermostat didn't use all the wires, and I ended up with an issue on cold days. I called support, and she stepped me through taking the panel off my furnace, taking a picture and send it in, and then told me what wires to hook up. Any other company would have just told you to return the product. Now my nest is working perfect and I love it!

This thermostat is so smart that it learns your patterns to go on and off and it goes into an away mode while you're not home to save you energy. My bills have been lower and it has the added convenience of being able to heat or cool my house remotely from my cell before I come back home after being away . If you buy it with the nest smoke sensor, when there's smoke it will shut off the furnace and the fan so that the smoke doesn't go all over the house and to prevent any further fire problems. I just learned from my alarm company that nest will be compatible with Honeywell alarm system which makes it even better.

I was told about the Nest by a few friends, and as a new home owner, this thing is great. Such a clean and easy install. Even if you are a little unsure of the wiring (which btw they make it really easy to do) their help and supports are great. Looks really clean on the wall, with or without the backplate. Once connected to WIFI, it really helps to adjust to your "schedule" and save money by not cooling when you aren't home or when it's not needed. Even if you forget to turn it up before you leave if you didn't make a schedule on it, you can just use your mobile app to control it. It's really convienent.

I started off with a wifi thermostat from Time Warner. The only thing that it let me do different from a normal thermostat was to access it through my phone. Decided to eat the cost and purchase the Nest simply because it was highly rated and technologically advanced. My favorite part of the Nest is it's beauty. It is elegantly designed. The menus are beautiful, the shape is futuristic, and the colors are eye-catching. I find myself passing by the Nest just to watch it turn on due to my proximity. It was so easy to install and it came with a back plate to cover the existing holes from the old thermostat. It took me about 15 mins to install. Without getting into too much detail, it is, indeed, a learning thermostat. It knows when you are not home and it shows you what temperature to set to save on energy costs. I have had zero issues in the 60 days that I've owned it. I highly recommend.

Nest was simple to install and has been awesome for energy savings. I love that I can easily program the unit from my computer and adjust the temperature settings across different days and times. I also love the app and find it convenient to adjust the preset programming, for example I have it set to turn off the ac while I'm at work and then start cooling the house when I leave work so it's not hot when I get home. From the app I can delay the cooling if I know I have to work late or get stuck in traffic. Also real nice so if it's too hot or cold when I get into bed I don't have to get back out of bed and go downstairs to adjust the thermostat, all done from the app. Awesome Gadget!

I bought 2 of these, needing one for each floor. They installed easily. I had them both installed in about 45 minutes, which included the time it took to set up my account. They look really nice compared to the old basic thermostats we had. The smooth metal ring and color screen are way better than the old white plastic and LCD display. The best thing about these is that they learn your habits and begin to adjust accordingly on their own. There's no need to program them if you don't want to. They also coordinate with each other, so if you leave the house they can switch to an energy-saving Away mode to help you save even more. They are a bit of an investment, but I definitely recommend them to help save money and energy, and they look good too.

I've had my Best thermostat up and running about 1 month now. Easy to install, use included literature and Nest website for additional information. This unit relaxed a Honeywell 7 day programmable. Not able to speak if it has saved me money on my gas bill yet but it has amazing features. With the Nest iPhone app I can change temperature while at home or away. The Nest will also auto detect when you are not home, this adjusting your thermostat to the set away temperature. It also determines how long it takes to adjust your home temperature and can work in conjunction with the Nest CO and Smoke Detector to assist in determine when not home. Overall recommend. Purchased through Best Buy with a 10% coupon, even better.

Pros: Smart Thermostat, easy installation, lots of features, Nice Design. Connects to home network, can be controlled using any device with Nest's home apps. Learns behavior and comfort and adjusts temperature settings through out the day automatically accordingly. Saves energy eventually in the long term. Cons: A little expensive, There are a lot of additional features that are rarely used, not sure how to customize the home screen but that's not a big issue, may have to spend some time to learn or contact customer support for an assistance.

This internet enabled thermostat is easy to install, easy to configure and looks great on the wall. Being able to check the temperature in my house from my iPhone wherever I am and using the Away feature to turn down the heat while I am gone, is very cool. Before I return to the house, I can bring up the heat again, all using the Nest app on my phone. It also learns our family's activity patterns and creates an efficient schedule for your heat. according to the instructions, that takes some time until the Nest recognizes activity patterns, and i have not had it long enough to be able to evaluate that feature. I already bought a second one for upstairs.

Replaced a programmable thermostat that had a non functioning touchscreen. Installation was super easy. I have a pretty basic house, so the main benefits are the auto away feature and being able to control it remotely. Nice aesthetic look as well. It is quite expensive for what you get.

We purchased the Nest to help reduce our heating and cooling costs. This thermostat is very elegant looking on the wall and was easy to install. The only issue we had was the the on screen instructions and those provided by the mobile app to configure were a bit confusing at first but we quickly figured it out and now are pros. The system learned our habits quickly and is already automatically adjusting the temps based on our habits. Love the mobile app and the ability to see the history of how long our system runs each day.
