Posted .Hi Wendy, thanks for choosing our Google Nest products. We're sorry to hear that you are experiencing glitchy issues with your Nest Wifi sometimes. Factors, such as network congestion and signal interference may cause such issues. To isolate the issue further, we recommend trying out the following steps:
- Disconnect some of your connected devices to free up some bandwidth space. You may then try and verify if you will still encounter any glitches. If freeing up some bandwidth space fixes the issue, it's highly recommended that you contact your Internet service provider to help check your connection and upgrade it if needed.
- You might also want to check for possible interferences. There could be signal interference due to traffic on your Wi-Fi network, on your neighbors' Wi-Fi networks, or from other sources like microwaves, baby monitors, or even the thick walls of your home. Placing your Nest Wifi Router in a straight line of sight with your Nest Wifi Points, and placing them no more than 2 rooms apart may help improve the signal strength.

Constant drops and poor latency even though google home says the mesh is excellent. Setup was simple and lacks management options. Meant for the beginner/average home user. Pay a little more and get the Ubiqiti Unify setup if you have even a little IT knowledge.

Posted .Hi there, thanks for sharing the details of your experience with the Nest Wifi and we’re sorry to learn of your disappointing experience with the connectivity, and with the lack of management options.
The placement of your Wi-Fi router and Google Wifi points are vital to have reliable Wi-Fi throughout your home. As a general rule, points work best when they’re no more than two rooms away from each other. For example, if the far end of your house has weak Wi-Fi, don’t put a Wifi point in that exact spot. Instead, put it part way in that direction. Try to place it in an elevated position like on a shelf. It may be helpful to try the following steps to see if the signal will improve:
- Repositioning the points to avoid obstructions like walls, doors, and aquariums can improve performance.
- Make sure all unused devices are off and not draining bandwidth with large downloads.
- Check for possible sources of interference such as microwave ovens, refrigerators or other equipment.
- Restart your network.
Also, using a Google Home app provides you with a lot of benefits including access to Google's trusted security platform and access to other Google tools. Also, it provides you with seamless integration with your other Google devices. While most features can be used in the Google Home app today. Testing Wi-Fi speeds to specific devices on your network will be added soon in an upcoming Google Home app release. New features includes the following:
- Improved video conferencing
- Network insights to help troubleshoot problems like slow internet and connection issues
- Notifications when a new device joins your network
- Google Assistant voice commands to control your Wi-Fi network, such as, pause Wi-Fi for a group of devices, check your internet speed, and show your guest Wi-Fi password on smart displays
