Upgraded our old one. Cant tell if its better or not due to crappy internet provider but do like its vertical. Cat cant lay on it now. App is nice too

Unfortunately, I returned this unit after two weeks and hours of trying to get it to work properly. The modem part was great - delivering around 900 Mbps over ethernet cable - as Comcast recently boosted my service to 1 Gbps (1,000 Mbps). Unfortunately - the router's performance was subpar to my 10 year old Apple Airport - which recently died. Many strange anomalies - such as wildly different speeds on different devices at different locations. Example. - laptop 15 ft. from router - 400 Mbps speeds - but about 50 Mbps and unable to keep constant connection downstairs at about 30 ft. - where iPhone test showed the 400 Mbps at that identical location. Apple TV got only 160 Mbps with this router - down from 225 Mbps with the old Apple Airport. Netgear customer service said that the Comcast signal had too many decibels (?) and that I would need to talk to them to improve their signal. They want to rent me their own "guaranteed to work" modem-router for $15 a month - so not interested in troubleshooting my line with device that they don't supply.

Great Router,perfect software layout easy asset wifi and lan config slick look powerful router and compact. Highly recommended good for Comcast or other cable service.

VERY POOR!! Very poor coverage area, slow connection speeds, even though we have high speed wi-fi. We get so much more buffering than we did with our old Netgear router. I bought it for the options of being able to set some of the admin settings - which I can. That is the ONLY plus to this router. I DO NOT advise this purchase. I will be pulling this one out and switching brands.

I pay for good internet (Xfinity) and my last modem/router situation was good 4 years ago. But now working from home and all the stuff dependent on wi-fi , thing suddenly got janky

I like the product, it has clean lines and plenty of power. Asked NETGEAR customer service a question on getting additional speed and the next thing I knew, all my devices were not connected. I was out of luck for two-days.

Its bad, signal couldn't travel 50 feet, had to buy a $180.00 extender and it barely handles it. It lags on a cable connection with a HD 6' cat cable, an expensive one with all the gigs. It seems to hate my phone as lately it runs the signal below a 100mgs, i switch to the 2g and it 433mgs, switch back to 5g and its 1.1 gig but immediately starts slowing down. The ability to log in to admin is at best causing couch rage as typically it decides that the passwords arent good? I think it because my phone gets speed restricted and it cant connect. Its seriously frustrating. The company sends me emails on the daily to buy more but im not going to. I had enough. 400, it should super duper, it aint. Other routers i could prioritize certain equipment but this one, nope so im mega-ing when i should be gig-ing.

Great Modem Router

I have great experience with this, the only issue i would put is that it doesn't have a long range. I had to purchase a wifi extender. Other than that all is great.
Oh and it is a bit pricey

I am really happy with Nighthawk. The connection is great and it has a feature within the app to pause devices that are connected. This is ideal for parents who want to limit internet time for their kiddos!

To activate to your service it’s a pain be ready to spend half a day calling Netgear and not understanding the people working on their phone service you will call multiple times.

It had been a while since we updated our router, this one has been great. All devices are working better and we have better coverage. The app is a nice touch to help monitor what is connected to your network.
