I had bad connections through the whole house. After this was installed no more lag. Not even in gaming

The system was very difficult for the technicals to install properly. Two days on the phone for hours and finally a service call. No one knew what to do Netgear or Comcast to connnect this router/modem. My internet drop alot.

It is a fast router but can be frustrating. It works for a few weeks, then goes offline for no apparent reason.

The company is difficult to reach when there is a problem. They work through email only never a live person. I used it for one year, because I never got a resolution when it failed to work and I was locked out of my app and online account. Very frustrating for me. I would not purchase a product from them again.

Like many of you, my wife and I are working remotely waiting out this pandemic, which means we rely heavily on our internet connection to do our day jobs. I bought this product in September 7, 2021 after my old Netgear modem gave out. I enjoyed the product until it suddenly stopped working in in the middle of my work day today, October 1, 2021. I called Netgear tech support for help and they couldn’t resolve the issue. They suggested trying to return it to the store for an exchange, but my return period ended 9/29/21. Now what? So, both Netgear and Best Buy suck. Oh yeah, if I can’t get Best Buy to exchange the thing, Netgear is going to charge me to ship the piece of junk back to them for a replacement in 3-5 business days. What are we supposed to do about work?!

Disappointing performance. My last Netgear modem/route was very reliable going months without an issue. This model was nothing but trouble. Very sluggish app and web interface response. The 2.4G radio refused to see the internet after reboots and a full reset. Support did pick up the call quickly, but the call quality was horrible. The support rep was nice and did his best then offered to have a different rep contact me. Never contacted again and I’m stuck with a lemon. We work from home, can’t spend days sorting out bad tech. Xfinity modem functioning perfectly after smooth app based fast easy setup. Was a loyal Netgear user and can’t see going back.

Don't waste your efforts, time, or money

Where do I start with this piece of junk.
We purchased this brand new and what setup should have taken about 15-30 minutes ended up taking 2 days. Between calling our internet provider and calling the manufacturer, we must have spent over 5+ hours on the phone along with troubleshooting on our own. The first speed test gave us around 800mbps but after that, we could not even load a single basic webpage!
Sat on the phone with Netgear, multiple times, once for 2+ hours. The agent (outsourced out of the country) said that they would speak with their supervisor and call back in thirty minutes... They never called back.
Returned to the store for an even exchange hoping that a new router would fix the issue and that the original router was just a lemon. Although the webpages were loading, we had so much trouble connecting our devices to the network. There was so much inconsistency with the quality of the speeds and reliability that we ended up giving this one back for a full refund and moving on to a different brand. Never again, Netgear. Piece of junk, useless customer service, high price point.

I was looking to buy this product and brought my old gateway that had died recently. I went into Best Buy to use the Recycle and Save coupon (15% off), and I was denied because they said the gateway was on sale and so the coupon doesn't apply, even though the coupon states " Simply take your old networking device to Customer Service in a Best Buy store, and you'll receive a coupon for 15% off the current price of a networking device or whole-home networking system." They said they couldn't give me a price adjust, so I just returned the entire thing and bought it on Amazon. Horrible customer service. Btw I'm sure this router is awesome, just don't buy it from Best Buy.

Absolute crap. I’m so surprised for the good reviews. I bought this to replace my rented Cox modem/router because I was tired of paying so much money, the specs showed for this modem/router was supposedly way better. This has no Wi-Fi signal range and all of my smart devices, google home, nest, and doorbell disconnected daily. I can’t get my Sony TV and Soundbar to even connect. So disappointed, beyond the return time. I thought I would have 30 days but apparently they only give you 15. Going back to the Cox store tomorrow to re rent a new router. Now I have a $350 hung of junk. The only good thing was the set up, also worth noting you have to pay extra if you want security.

Failed after 6 months, buyer beware. Loses all data on reset or power loss. Very disappointing in this expensive a device. Having to reprogram wifi name and password everytime i need to reset it is infuriating. Netgear customer service only responds by email and looks to blame everyone but their defective product. It Took a week to hear back from them after putting in a request for service and when i did they bragged about being on vacation. Product was properly registered after purchase and they are more interested in playing 20 questions about seriel numbers they already have than actually making good on warranty. I will never purchase a netgear product again and hope others learn from my mistake and stay clear of this brand.
