Poor lifespan

Considering price and reviews was confident this product would last a good amount of time. Our internet stopped working and it was confirmed by our service provider to be because of this product failing. Their modem provided internet just fine. This has occurred 2 weeks after the 1 year warranty therefore we will have to purchase a new modem router altogether.
If you are out of warranty and need help, you can still get help by posting your issues over in the NETGEAR Community forums. There are moderators and other community members that are happy to help out with any problems you are having.

Wouldn’t activate

Xfinity couldn’t get it to activate. They told me it couldn’t receive their signal. Then i tried calling Netgear before returning it and their service was terrible and unhelpful. I had to return it since i couldn’t get it to work.

Netgear requires you to register their products in order to operate. You will also have to pay for support services. Therefore, the product is theirs not yours.

Just junk out of the box. I bought this and immediately had issues. I returned it and got another one and same issues. Next day I find out their is an issue with the firmware that caused no connection issues. Don’t waste all day on this like I did

was so excited when i purchased this Modem until they messed up the firmware update after going back and forth with customer service they had to roll back the update and still not functioning correctly I DO NOT RECOMMEND wish i can get my money back....

This is nice because it is the router and modem together. So it doesn’t take up a lot of space.

The router well until the cable company upgraded the internet service, and it stopped working. Even resetting to factory settings did not resolve the problem. I ended up using another router. I’ve had several Netgear modem routers over the years, but I think this will be my last. The product support just isn’t there

I had 2 of these modem in three weeks time . Both continue to drop the Wi-Fi constantly. My home alarm kept giving me alerts the Wi-Fi dropped. I use stream sticks for tv and you would be watching and now you lost internet. Retired both. I been using net gear for ever, but now renting with xfinity.

Total garbage. Support is a joke. Range and speed are far worse than the 7 year old unit I was replacing. After 4 months of use, I'm throwing it in the trash and buying another brand.

It dropped connectivity every couple of days and after 6 months the hardware failed. Sent it back to get a new one and had to pay to ship back their defective product.

This is the absolute worst modem I’ve experienced and paid 300 for it. Only had it for about a year and the entire thing stopped working. They said it’s a hardware problem, but im pretty sure it’s a software problem. Stay far away from this product!

This device costs too much for it to have the issues it had. I had to return this product because I was constantly booted off the network daily. I work from home and need a reliable internet modem/router, but this particular one did not meet the standard of reliable.

If you sort among 1 start reviews you will note a trend that it appears to be giving out around the 1 year mark which is right around the warranty expiration. I am in the process of trying to get it RMAed, but proving difficult. Extremely disappointing from NetGear and a $300+ modem/router.

This is by far the worst cable modem router I’ve ever come across in my life. Absolutely would not recommend this product. Dropped out three times in one week losing all my devices and the tech support was a total waste of time.

Would expect to get more than 6 months out of a $380 router. Experienced a lot of choppy internet throughout those six months as well before it just quit out on me. Very dissatisfied.
