Bought this in June 2021 and it just stopped working this past week. After a power outage (it was hooked up to a surge protector), the internet went down and never came back up. The only LED light that would light up on the modem/router was the power light. Everything else was dark. Tried resetting it over a few days time. Finally called my ISP. ISP tech came out and said everything was fine. He checked all the connections in and around the house and said it could be your modem/router.
Then he hooked up a modem and a cheap 5 year old router I had in storage and internet was back up. What a waste of my money! It didn't even last a full year!

I am a huge net gear nighthawk fan, but even with the CAX Dash 80 that is supposed to be the best of the best for streaming I am still having issues with streaming interruption, my smart device is not acting as fast as they should be, and my Internet speed is way below what this modem router combo should be offering.

Re-config required after loss of power or internet

When it works. It works. Just pray you don't lose your internet connection from your ISP or lose power to the device. Every time that happens you have to re-setup the device as if it's the first time you powered it on. It doesn't store and load all your previous settings which means your device does not come back online on it's own when power or internet is restored. Additionally this means none of your WiFi enabled/IoT devices reconnect automatically. This is problematic especially when I travel and can't view my Ring devices or when a family member is home who can't setup these types of devices. I also have the Nighthawk mesh extender which suffers from the same issues. I completely regret these very expensive purchases.

Worthless WOW 1gig service.

Not compatible with WOW 1gig Internet service. Everyone time WOW activated this new modem, it just blew up wi-if, couldn’t connect to Internet and couldn’t even access administration page on modem. Before their activation, I was able access administration page fine. Some how 1st modem worked for little over 90 days, so I can’t returned it anymore to bestbuy. Two replacement modems from Netgear blew up as soon as WOW activated 1gig on it. Working with Netgear is nightmare and cost $$$ for their support and sending devices back and forth. Don’t buy it if you have WOW 1gig Internet service because both WOW and Netgear will not help you with this situation you will end up spending more $$$. I spent over $600 and now it is sitting as a brick on my desk.

Not reliable.

Working with the Nighthawk app was terrible. Half the time it couldn't connect to the modem to complete setup. Had to restart from scratch numerous times.
Once I finally got it setup, I was having consisten internet drops every 4 - 6 hours, requiring two, yes TWO power cycles of the modem. After spending an hour or so working with my ISP, they saw a 100% packet loss during these instances, yet a stable 100% connection to the ISP. They said they've never seen anything like this before.
Boxed it up and returned it. Back to using my ISP's modem and picked up a Netgear Nighthawk RAX200. That has little quirks to it as well but significantly better reliability.
I do not recommend this.

Not worth it for wireless

Honestly given the choice to buy this again I would pass. The wireless connection constantly drops in the middle of banking or other important tasks. The net armor is intrusive and annoying. I would say maybe it's the provider but after running a 75 ft ethernet cable to my computer all the connection drop issues disappeared. Super expensive for sub pat performance wirelessly, wired connection works great, but a wired connection should work great. Find an alternative and Ave yourself the headache if you are looking for a whole home wireless modem/router.

Overpriced Junk

The AX6000 seemed to do great for approximately 18 months (although now I’m questioning all the times I thought my slow speeds and lagging was because of Comcast). In the past few months, it failed to produce a strong, clear signal. It got worse and worse until now it’s just a brick with a power light. I am going back to an Arris modem and probably a TP-Link router. Avoid the AX6000 combo. Don’t waste your money on this junk. Buy a separate modem (Docsis 3.1) and router (Wi-Fi 6) of whatever brand you choose in 2024.

Complete piece of junk. I “upgraded” from a very reliable eero system because this modem/router is supposedly capable of handling over 1Gbps ISP speed, I have 1.2Gbps service in my house.
All I have found since day one is nothing but trouble and frustration. The app is super slow and works randomly, sometimes getting stuck “thinking”. The internet around my house is terrible, even know this system is WiFi6, supposedly much faster and longer range than my WiFi5 eero. Total waste of money. Never again I will buy a Netgear product. I’m so mad this junk is not returnable anymore.

Do not waist your money. This product may fail after six months and Netgear will make every excuse to try and get out of the 1 year warranty. My device stopped working several days ago. Im currently trying to get a replacement now. They ask stupid question like who is your service provider or questions you literally already answered. I will never intentionally purchase another Netgear product!!!

The app is pure junk. It takes minutes to change screens, and you still need to use the web interface for some things. You change settings, but they’ve reset the next time you look. You are constantly told that the router isn’t activated or is disconnected. The unit itself looks great on the shelf, and I wish it worked. I want WiFi6 with 2.5Gb Ethernet ports to feed my MoCA network; by combining the modem and router, I cut out an expensive junction. This is not a working solution. I’m glad some people get this to work for them, but I’ve spent over six hours trying to make it work to no avail. It’s slow and unstable. I went back to a slower modem and WiFi5 mesh system because they’re rock solid and move data faster. The last two Netgear products I’ve tried have been poor quality, and they ask you to immediately fork over more money for security and warranty/service. I’m done with them.

Started out as an amazing modem/router combo but like everyone else, it died 6-7 months in. Netgear support wants me to pay for them to support their own product. Hopefully Best Buy geek squad will do something since I bought their service plan.
I’m sure Netgear support service will respond to this with their normal copy/paste uncaring message. Reality is I paid nearly $500 for a product that constantly crashes and they want me to pay them to fix it. Total sham!

Purchased as I could not get my wife's VPN (Cisco Anyconnect) to work with my previous purchase (Arris G36). The same issue existed with this device. Netgear wanted to charge me for support, even after only having the device for 2 days. They also kept pushing some Armor BS which I declined.
For a 429.00 device you'd think they'd offer some support, since it claims you get it for the first 60 days or whatever, but they offered none. As much as I wanted to keep this (or the Arris) it was not an option as the VPN just does not work -- I did a deal of research and it seems these all in one devices don't work well, or at all with Cisco Anyconnect.
