    Stops working after first year.

    I purchased 2 of these products. Both stopped working after 1 year. Right after the products warranty expires. Then you have to call Netgear and pay over $200 to get it fixed. They call it a Customer care contract. Don’t spend your money of this cool looking modem.

    After only 5 months of use, the device completely shut down and quit working. Multiple attempts at restarting and resetting failed. Xfinity doesn't support it and tech support for net gear is expensive even on such a new item.

We are sorry to hear that you had a difficult experience with your product. All NETGEAR products come with 90 days of complimentary technical support, and 1 year of hardware replacement warranty. If you are beyond the 90 days of complimentary support and you need additional technical support you will be asked to purchase an extended support contract, but if the device has failed and needs to be replaced you will not be charged for the support call, since this is covered under the hardware replacement warranty.

    The router’s OK, but do not activate Netgear Armor. Once you turn it on, you can’t turn it off, and it significantly slows your internet. Based on this, I’m not buying any more Netgear products. What a poor design.

    I purchased this brand new in June of 2021. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. To spend almost $500 on a router and it already break is extremely upsetting. I thought it would be of a higher quality. Stay away dont waste your money on this thing

    Buyer beware

    It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review, but this product line is absolute junk. I purchased a CAX30 and CAX80 and both were very glitchy (Interface and Functionality). My ARRIS offers more functionality and that was a $200 modem. Also, to my shame I didn't read all the horrible reviews left by others. Save yourself the headache and purchase another brand.

    Disappointing for Netgear

    I've been using Netgear products for years. Very disappointed at unreliable streaming. Cuts out a lot and the prior one just went dead after about a year and a half. I have two of these in different cities so it is the router and not just the local service/layout - same choppy streaming.

    Wildly Overpriced Garbage

    I bought this absurdly expensive product in March of 2022, and it died 6 months later. 4-day wait for the geek squad guy, after navigating the horrendous customer service call line. Nightmare experience with a nightmare product.

    Most inconsistent modem/router I’ve ever used

    The most inconsistent modem/router I’ve ever used in my life. Everyday I had it I had to reboot it 5 times. I couldn’t get into any online game on any consistent basis. I would never recommend this product to anyone.

    We bought this in March 2022 and I’m writing this review in December 2022. We’ve had multiple issues since buying the CAX80. All confirmed to be the unit and not our ISP. Our previous Netgear Modem/Router had no issues, so we’re surprised and disappointed that this one has so many, especially at the price. Netgear customer service is not helpful.

    This is the most expense piece of crap I've every purchased. I bought the extended warranty and after 4 months it died and they replaced it with a bigger piece of crap and wouldn't transfer the warranty. Save your money. Netgear is crap.

    The range was disappointing. Returned and bought docis 3.1 cable modem and mesh router for less.

    Was working great for 6 months and basicly turned into a brick after automatic firmware update. Netgear refuses to assist without buying their premium Gearhead support. I wont recommend buying any Netgear product after dealing with their support

    One of the worst routers ever , after toons of hours on the phone with CS still having issues , the features are amazing but it fails on giving good consistent wifi conected and wire conection . Would not recommend this to no one. I made this purchase thanking it was the best router/modem out and I was very WRONG !

    Router failed after a few months, Best But has totally failed to address this issue, despite the extended service & warranties we paid for. AVOID BEST BUY LIKE THE PLAGUE

    I am very disappointed that this product has died after 18 months. I also found the WIFI difficult to set up and not reliable. Not sure what brand I will buy next but I will be buying one from Best Buy.

    I was told by the sales person this Cable Modem had QoS settings so I bought it... I even returned one because I thought it was broke.... BUT NOW I have a cable modem and NO QOS. Modem is a high priced piece of garbage and the person who helped me does not know anything. Maybe Best Buy employees should not talk if they do not know.
