This router provides reliable and fast Wifi throughout our 3-floor 6 bedroom house. It has an easy to use interface and the set up time for a basic configuration is minimal, yet it has advanced features that allow port forwarding for gaming and remote access protocols.

After an old, OLD Motorola router just gave up, I decided we were tired of waiting around to get the most of our Internet. Got this at a great price and never looked back. If your router is aging and barely holding on, grab this. You’ll notice a difference immediately.

I work from home and kept having issues with the routers from Spectrum. After reading reviews and getting advice from different sources I chose this one. The set up was super easy. I’m still having connectivity issues where I lose signal randomly and I am not sure if it is the router or just Spectrums service. Most people do not have the issues that I am constantly having. I purchased the extended warranty so if it is the router I can exchange it. I’m giving 4 stars because at this point I am not sure what the issue is but I will update my review when I get answers.

Instillation required help of a neighbor who does this professionally. Otherwise, this product has been great. It met all my specifications-it works flawlessly, survived loss of electricity and resumed working when powe was restored. Range improved over older cisco it replaced. recommended highly.

Great 2.4/5GHz Router for 2500 sq/ft home

Based on reviews, I purchased this router in 2020 (2 yrs ago as of writing this review). Setup was simple; connecting all other devices also simple; the 5GHz easily makes it with medium signal horizontally across a 2500 sq/ft house; the 5GHz will not make it diagonally across a 2500 sq/ft house; the 2.4GHz makes it diagonally across a 2500 sq/ft house. This is quite helpful for me as some of my smart home devices will only connect to the 2.4 signal, and instead of having to toggle on/off the 5GHz signal, I can just bring them in the garage to connect. Simple hide/unhide the SSID especially for the Guest network is appreciated. I've used this as a primary router and also in sequence with a fibre modem/router. Price of this router appears to have been maintained over the past few years which also shows the manufacturer continues to sell it (aka. people are buying it because it's good). If this router went out on me today, I'd shop around with the understanding that I'd probably just buy it again.

I purchased this router to replace a 5 year old one that just stopped transmitting. Set up was easy, if a little confusing for someone used to manually setting these up, but still easy. I like the mobile app, where you can monitor and partially control the router, and the signal is strong. Very strong. There were dead spots on my house with the old router. Now there is only one (signal has to pass thru about 5 walls and is historically a bad reception area).
In all, a worthy replacement if you are looking for a single point of service router.

This is the BEST router out on the market. I recently upgraded from a small Linksys router and must say $200 was worth every penny. I have all my families devices running as well as desktops laptops, Xbox one and wireless blu ray player. I have no lag while streaming Netflix in one room while the kids play Xbox live in the other. The range is also very impressive. It is a bit bulky but its performance overshadows that. Very easy to set up as well, only took one try in a few minutes. I highly recommend getting this device, worth every penny.

Was dropping cable and going to online services, so wanted something faster and with higher wifi signal strength than the cable company provided units. Am very pleased with both speed and signal strength (modem/router in front of the house, bedroom in back corner). No issues with any online devices all run fine (laptops, ipads, TV, Bluray, phones etc).
Drop the standard units and get something like this (and stand-alone modem), wish I had done this sooner, even just for internet access... way faster!

This router has amazing range, one of the best I have seen. It includes an an easy setup wizard that works for most configurations, and is packed with loads of features. One of the installations I did called for me installing it down in a basement that had a concrete wall around it and I was able to get a good signal even all the way out at the street! The download speed over the wireless even far away from it was over 30mbps. When I was within 30 or 40 feet away I was able to get close to 50mbps. Great router, I highly recommend this unit and will absolutely purchase another one when I have a customer that has a weak signal.

The Nighthawk router worked flawlessly. The installation material is accurate and simple. On my network, speed test shows near a gigabit upload and download plugged in using a cat6 ethernet cable. My only disappointment is finding out my laptop is wireless N. The Netgear genie is very useful.

Amazing speed and easy set up. My range is amazing, my neighbor had an issue with the internet and I provided him guest access for a day or two as with COVID he had to work from home and his Hotspot wasn't cutting it. We are a house of streamers, work from home, and college kids and no issues. There is actually very little signal or speed loss and we have a pretty big home, single story home. 5 Bedroom, and office ~ 4000 sq ft.

I've been through 4 other wireless routers trying to find one that would not have dead zones in my 3300 sq ft home. This unit picks up everywhere. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because one of the antenna broke off as I was taking it out of the box. Fortunately, I don't need it - works fine without it.

It was easy to install. I have a two story, spacious home, including furnished basement. I have the router installed on the 2nd floor and I get a decent signal in my basement. I have 2 kids who run several devices at the same time and I have not noticed any decline in signal strength.

We were having so much trouble with dropped wifi in our condo. I thought the setup was a little confusing but once the system was up and running everything seems to be great. We have 2 smart tvs, iPhones, 2 wireless printers and a couple of computers so we really needed a reliable network.

This thing has been very reliable, overall. And Netgear regularly releases firmware updates! I have over 20+ wifi connected devices in my house and I don't experience issues. I even stream 4K HDR videos without issue. I like the fact that it has a VPN client, too.

I bought a router and range extender as I was getting 1 of 5 signal bars in my living room in a moderately large house. I hooked the router up first. It essentially does everything for you but plug in the wires - have had lots of routers, but never one that easy to set up. Once set up.,. full bars! I returned the range extender a few days later without ever opening it. The range of this Nighthawk router is way better than the old D-Link DIR-655. This Nighthawk router is more expensive than others, but well worth the money. Excellent buy.

Its a good router, powerful and long range but make sure you don't upgrade the firmware. I bought one 3 years ago, and then I always update the firmware. Well constant reboots on its own made me run out and get a new one. After 3 years I was like ok it probably was dying. I get the new one, upgrade to the latest firmware and the same thing started happening. I researched it on Netgear's site and there is one firmware that is stable from about 1.5 years ago. I downgraded the router firmware to that version and it is solid!
