The best upgrade yet for a router. I have it place in my drop ceiling of my basement in the center of the house and it reaches all parts of my 1900 sq ft.

The router works pretty well to increase the bandwidth in my house. I have definitely seen an improvement, but could be even stronger. Still a good value for the money.

This router does its job well. It takes quite a good amount of surface space because of its size. I have high speed internet and there has been no issues so far.

I will start out by saying that this router worked great for about a month and a half. But then I started noticing connection drops on the 2.4ghz band. The 5ghz band works about 80% of the time. All of our Alexa devices, smart switches, outlets, and Ring camera all operate on the 2.4ghz band. I have zero connectivity when the 2.4 connection drops. I contacted Netgear support and I had 3 or 4 days left on my 90 day phone support period. They had me do a factory reset on my router. That worked for about 2 days. I will say that I am tech savvy and I understand how to change settings within the router as I figured I could troubleshoot some things on my own. The other frustrations I have with this router is that some devices connect and others will not. Speaking on the 2.4ghz band, all of my Alexa devices will be working fine, but our laptops and cell phones will not connect to 2.4 (could not get IP address). On other occasions, our laptops will connect just fine on the 2.4 band and our Alexa devices and ring camera go offline. I have attempted to revert to an older firmware version that was present when I purchased the router....Everything was fine. I went to bed and woke up the next morning to get on my laptop...I thought I had fixed our issues...NOPE! This router is like Lucy from 50 First Dates. All of the progress I make gets erased overnight while we are sleeping. I will spend an hour reconfiguring settings and performing factory resets...everything works fine and I go to bed and the next morning we are still having connection issues on the 2.4ghz band. I contacted Netgear and of course I am outside of the 90 day phone support window but they tell me that I still have time left on my 1 year hardware warranty. I was told for 79.99 they can have an expert help me with my issues. I said "NO" I would like a warranty replacement. The outsourced customer service rep simply said, “sorry I cannot do anything else...you need to buy the extended phone support, have a good day”. I had to stop him and say I wasn’t done with the call, I would like to speak with a manager. I was polite all the way through and he says that they do not have any managers which was hard to believe. Basically, you have to pay for the support for them to even consider a warranty replacement. I cannot return to Best Buy and unfortunately, I have a $250.00 paper weight. This seems unfair that I spent so much on a router and Best Buy cant accept a return/exchange and Netgear cannot help without me paying them.

The Nighthawk is a fantastic router, as long as you actually need everything it provides. Unfortunately, most people do not. So please do your research!

I have a good sized house with lots of walls. This Nighthawk X6 seems to have less range. I had to buy a power booster and I still have weak wireless 4 rooms away. Perhaps the more expensive Nighthawk is better for range.
