This is crazy! I have Verizon, the router/modem they provide you with is only good for a apartment. If you're lucky. Forget about using their modem/router for a house. You will loose range constantly and speed performance. I would be watching Netflix and the video wouldn't load, I would be playing call of duty or any online game and couldn't find a lobby without getting kicked from it! I would constantly get disconnected from my wifi. It's sad to say but Youwill not get what you're paying for as of MBPS's with Verizon unless you hardwire everything, and very close to their router / modem. I have tried the most expensive range extenders out there costing ($120-150), that didn't work. I was also too lazy to bridge the connection to make any router work with Verizon.. The orbi however will fix that problem. My house is 1207 square feet, their basic router covers 2000 square feet and obviously the satellite is double that. So 4000 square feet. I'm cheap, so I wanted to buy the single pack. At first I thought I was going to be fine with one after buying the one without the satellite. But after verifying with Orbi's iPhone app/ other apps I was getting about 60-70% coverage up stairs. The Signal was a little droopy. At this point, I wanted the BEST for the price. I ended up getting the orbi with the satellite and connected the satellite to the orbi when I had a chance. Holy! I didn't believe it. I thought the rumors was false. This will give you more MBPS's than what you're actually paying for! My speed tripled, my connection strength is ALWAYS 100% through out the whole entire house and so far no lag. It's always instant. My house haves a total of 20-26 devices including video games consoles, cell phones, tablets, smart tvs, and home automation connected to the Orbi and it handles it like a champ! Also, connecting it with your Verizon router/modem is very easy. They have a tutorial on how to do it on their website. one last thing; the orbi doesn't heat up even with all these devices connected to it constantly streaming, which means longer life-span. This is the router everyone needs!

The Orbi AC3000 is great. It covers my entire house. I am not longer paying rental on a modem-router from the cable company. Easy to set up and gives me better control on what devices can use my internet service

I have been looking at different mesh networks, looking to replace several routers/networks in my house. None of the systems I was looking at impressed me. I did not look at any Netgear systems at first, due to a bad experience with a previous wireless router that was flaky at best. I had different issues with other systems, backhaul speeds were slow, WiFi speeds slow, lacking wired ports etc. I finally started to look at Orbi from Netgear. Everything I saw started to check off boxes in the positive column. Good Backhaul speeds, good WiFi speeds, plentiful wired ports. But it was still Netgear. I finally decided to pull the trigger and get this system. I had researched some setup youtube videos, so I knew how to get past a couple of the update problems. I originally setup and updated both the router and satellite while my main wireless router was still in place (didn't want to take the network down and kill my wife's network). The update process worked just fine. I then took down the old network, put this one in place and had trouble with getting to the internet. After a couple of minutes troubleshooting, I finally rebooted my cable modem, and renewed the lease on the router. Everything came up just fine. Some people are reporting on youtube an increase in network speeds, but that is not my case. My internet through Spectrum was going as fast as it couple without going into business internet and a higher cost. But what this system did do for me, was kill all the dead sports that I had tried to cover with 3 routers and WiFi networks. The passing from Router to Satellite is very seamless and I have full internet speeds throughout my house, which I didn't have before. I am very happy with this system. I recommend getting this system for anyone with trouble getting WiFi throughout their home. IF you had Netgear issues in the past, don't let that limit you into not getting this system.

The Orbi was very easy to set up and the instructions were easy to follow. More or less plug and play! It provides an excellent signal throughout both floors (about 3000 sq ft). Worth every penny spent!

I use Verizon Fios as my ISP and just upgraded to their gigabit plan. Which is 940 download and 88 upload speeds. I was using an Apple AirPort Extreme that worked as my secondary router and Wi-Fi hub and that did the job well for a few years. With this upgrade of speed, I wanted faster Wi-Fi speeds across my house which the AirPort Extreme wasn’t able to accomplish. I wanted the best and started to do my research. The Netgear X10 and the high end ASUS products tended to have the better online reviews. So I started with the Netgear X10. Was very disappointed. Although it is a great router, its ability to provide strong and full coverage to my home was disappointing. I worked with Netgear tech for the set up and they couldn understand what the issue was. They told me to return the first X10 to the store and buy a new one thinking it was just defective. Brought the new one home and worked again with Netgear and same issue. Next day I picked up Netgear’s newest released high end router, the Nighthawk AX 6000. I would say this was a downgrade. Not sure why I didn’t start with a mesh system, I guess I figured the best router out there should give me the best Wi-Fi coverage. I was wrong. DId my research again and it appeared the two highest rated are the Orbi and the Google system. Sales rep at bestbuy actually recommended the Eero. I ended up purchasing the Orbi 3000 system with router and 1 satellite and couldn’t be happier. It does everything I need it to do as much so as the X10. My whole home is blanketed in high speed coverage. Best of all, was on sale for $279. So ended up over $100 cheaper than the other two routers I purchased and returned.

After WFH for almost a year, I decided to upgrade my ISP to a better plan where I can get up to 500 Mbps. Unfortunately my old router wasn't up to the task and could only squeeze out 40 Mbps. The router and satellite were easy to set up and I get 200 Mbps consistently throughout a 2500 square foot home across 3 floors. I can often get 400+ depending on the time of day. Dead spots I previously had are completely gone - I now get a full signal and incredible speed throughout the home, including my basement and 2nd floor. Some of the reviews state that the router doesn't perform fast enough or the speed dropped after a given timeframe. One should consider that the router is just one link in a chain of devices which make up your internet connection. It could be your ISP, the modem, the cabling outside your home, the hub your broadband cable is connected to, etc etc. In our case the broadband cable was replaced and the speed increased from 200 Mbps to 480 Mbps as it was 30 years old. So take negative reviews with a grain of salt... some of these speed issues could have had a root cause other than the Orbi. Personally, I highly recommend it, especially since the price drop from $400 to $299. It's not for everyone, but for a large family with kids streaming movies and playing games, I'm very pleased.

This is a great mesh wifi system but it is a little tricky if you want to exploit all the features like remote supervision. If you are looking for a good router or access point with your current modem ISP this is your way... The install is easy, a little complicated if you want to do it with the cell app but with a laptop is easy. Great coverage and the 5ghz band will deliver all the mps your ISP is intended to.

I have to admit I looked at this router for a long time before making a purchase. The sticker shock was a lot to overcome. However I am very pleased with it and happy I decided to make the purchase. My internet speed was supposed to be 150Mbps and I have at least a dozen devices connected throughout my home. However with my old router (a Netgear router that was at least 5 years old) I could only get those high speeds when I was right near the router (located on my first level near my home office). I have a 3 level home and the top level only had speeds of lower than 10Mbps despite having a WiFi extender. This was frustrating because I pay for the higher speed but I wasn't able to achieve it. That is like buying a high end sports car that can only go fast when it leaves your drive way but a block away from your home it only has a Max speed of 35 MPH. After lots of research and crossing my fingers I made the leap and purchased this router. What a game changer this thing has been. Now I get 175Mbps throughout my entire home including the 3rd level. No dead or slow spots anywhere in my home. The only complaint is I have an HP 1525 wireless color laser printer and this router does not work with that. I thought there is no way I am going to pay this much for a router and now have to buy another $400-$500 printer. Fortunately I just connected my old WiFi extender to this router and I connect to that whenever I need to print anything. Besides that minor drawback I have no complaints and highly recommend this router. You will be very happy despite the high price tag.

Installation was easy and performance is as good as can be achieved given what you are getting from your ISP. It has the advantage of working faster than the ISP feed (if slow) within the house.

I bought this combo back in October of 2016. I am glad Best Buy accepted my return today of the unit. I am totally done with this as all it ever did was disconnect my devices and reconnect them all the time. It was NEVER stable. Coverage was great for just two devices. Speeds performed well! I have been working with Netgear Support and the Community page at Netgear, and the firmware is full of bugs. From dropping connections to devices, to loosing port settings, to losing your internet, this had all of that. Netgear is fully aware of the issues with these units and has been trying to come out with a fix, (they been saying this for 3 months), but still have not fixed it. I have given up on them, and returned the units and picked up the Eero system since the price dropped to match the Orbi now. Eero is easier to setup, and has been stable! No issues with drops. Speeds are great and you get three units (which are smaller), to help with the coverage. The units aren't as strong but since they give you three, it fixes any coverage issues you may have.

The range has been awesome from this system. We used to have many dead spots throughout the house, but that has ended. We cut the cord and these handle all of the streaming devices we use.

Comcast Xfinity routers are very basic so I have used my own. However, even the expensive ones have left me with dead spots since it has to be plugged into the cable at the edge of the house. This Orbi is wonderful. My house is two stories but with two other split levels even with the garage and the master above the garage. This creates a lot of walls and floors for signal to get through. I have tried using extenders and they helped, but even with an expensive router and two extenders, there are spots with a very low signal. The Orbi solved all of this! The router is in the same place. The satellite is in the master. This gives me perfect coverage throughout the whole house and even outside in the front and back. The set up is simple, and the app gives you total control and the ability to see what devices are active. I have the printer on upstairs and on the opposite side of the house from the router. And, I can still print from anywhere. Using an extended, the computer or device and printer has to be both on the router or both on the extender. With Orbi, it is just one network whether you are using the Router or Satellite. I love the fact that you can add more satellites. I don't need that now, but that is an option if needed. I also love the fact that you can set up a public network that is separate from my private network. My wife is a consultant and has clients over all the time. I was always weary of giving them my Wi-Fi password because they would have access to private info. Now, they can connect to the internet without a password, and I don't have to worry. This is a wonderful product and I am very happy with this purchase. If I had to do it all over again, the only thing I would change is to buy it sooner!

We have always used a standard Linksys WRT style router but as our ISP started bumping up our Internet speeds and we added more devices that are streaming more things at higher qualities we found that certain things were getting bottlenecked. We needed more coverage that was able to offer consistent speeds and at first we tried the Linksys Velop system since we were used to being in the Linksys ecosystem. The Velop system did give us the coverage we needed but being just 15-20 feet away with an unobstructed line to the satellite there was a noticeable drop in speeds. That was simply unacceptable. We decided to give the Netgear Orbi system a try and couldn't be happier with that decision. Both the Velop & Orbi systems are really simple and straightforward to get up and running. The Orbi system was able to give us the coverage we needed + no loss of speeds. The app to monitor the system is really nice but I would say this is the only area where the Linksys outperformed the Orbi. There are some semi-advanced things that Velop can do right on the app (ie. Port Forwarding) that the Orbi requires you to login to a fairly bad looking site to accomplish. In the end if you need to do anything at all it's more than possible just takes a little more work. We've had this up and running for a few weeks with over 20 devices connected over a 2500 sq. ft property with no issues. Truly the next step in wireless internet. There will always be a place in our hearts for our trusty old Linksys with a bunch of antennas but Orbi is the future.
