Superb mesh network system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After much research on various mesh network systems, including Google WiFi, I decided to spend a little more money and buy the Orbi system. This was because of the dedicated 5GHz freq for comms between the base and remote units. I have a 100MBps service and had been using 2 Apple AirPort Express routers as a base at one end of the house and a signal booster near the middle. In my family room, which is about 50 ft straight-line through both wallboard and brick walls from the base router, I had been getting about 20MBps. Using the Orbi system, I put the remote unit in the center of the house per the directions and got about 60MBps in the family room.Good! Because of the dedicated router comms freq, I tried the remote in the family room and am now seeing upwards of 90MBps there. Great! I believe I would have seen less speed with other systems that don't have that dedicated freq, such as Google WiFi or Eero. I only have the one remote unit that came with the system, but I'm still seeing 40-50 MBps in upstairs bedrooms. The Orbi units are much larger than my old AirPort Express or some other mesh network systems, but not as ugly as other good routers. The cost difference over Google WiFi and some others is considerable, especially if you need two remote units. That large cost/unit is the reason for only 4 stars. However, for the speed I wanted, in the areas of the house I wanted it, the Orbi system was worth the additional expense.

Great mesh Wifi for speed/coverage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This two piece system combines a very easy install process with two especially handy features - great (square-footage) coverage, and fast transfer speeds. The coverage extends beyond my 2,400 sq ft house well out into the yard, both front and back. The main unit is near the front of the house, and second one is close to the back of the house. Download speeds on internet do vary a lot, but on average I'd say I've got twice the speed with this new unit (compared to my old Apple Extreme wireless router).

Great coverage and gets you the fastest speeds
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased this due to the cable companies supplied router not being the greatest. Tried several (3-4) other expensive routers but couldn’t get the coverage or the speeds that I was paying for over WiFi. I pay for 400mbps due to us doing a lot of streaming and with most things over WiFi things slow down. So I tried this I had issues at first with dropping WiFi connections frequently. But with customer service help with switching the 2g and 5g channels I have not had any problems. My house is only 1700 sq feet, so I have the Orbi RB50 that covers 5000 sq ft. in which it will cover outside as well. Most devices are 5g compatible and what I like about this is it automatically connects you to the strongest signal so you don’t have to have a separate 2g and 5g login. I get the fastest speeds out of WiFi with Orbi vs others the only thing I noticed was I seem to get slower speeds through my PlayStation (which I have a wired connection) than the other 3 routers I tried. I seem to only get 50-150mbps through the Orbi and was getting 150-200 with the others. But it’s not the biggest deal as I don’t play all that much and never have lagging or buffering issues. Overall I highly recommend Orbi who wants easy set and hassle free coverage.

A worthy wifi upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a 2000sqft house and I was getting poor reception at certain areas. I researched and thought of buying a triband router with a longer range but I wanted complete coverage even outside. I researched wifi extenders and came upon the Orbi. I use wifi calling and constant streaming via HBOgo and Netflix. I would get good signal but only about 80mbps max when I'm close to the router. Downstairs I would get 50 to 80mbps variability (the router is centrally located upstairs). About 30 ft outside, 7-10mbps was the max. I looked at YouTube and saw people were racing about it and they reported increased speed and with consistency. I plunged into it and decided to try it. I could return anyway if it didn't work. Luckily it was in sale for me when I bought it for $350. Took it home. Set it up. Took me about 30 minutes to fiddle with it and got it running. Tested it and I'm happy to say that the reviews were no joke. Inside it was a constant 100+mbps anywhere I went. Outside it was 30mbps approximately 30ft away. But don't take my word for it. Give it a try and see for yourself. With two bands available you'll have plenty of bandwidth for you and your guests!

Great, Simple Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned my high-end Linksys router in the hopes of finding something else that would: a) have a single wireless ID vs one for each channel (2ghz and 5ghz) b) handle high wireless and wired traffic on my home NAS c) be easy to use this router handled everything easily, and then some! while my girlfriend has experienced some slowness on her cell (i'm wondering if it's an antenna issue with her S8) and I haven't on my S7, I can say that I've been very happy with this setup. Love it!!

The King of Coverage
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a lot—and I do mean a lot—of homework, we went with the "web" type wifi system. Well.. it was 100% worth it. We live in a 2 story house with a full basement and we put one of the satellites on the first floor and the other on the second; we have service everywhere in the house, and you don't "switch" over to the other satellite based on location. It's all one big network, so you don't drop calls, coverage, or speeds at all. My wife does corporate teleconferencing, and my son can watch videos, and I can be working on the cloud downloading and uploading at the same time. Bandwidth, coverage, speed, and the App are all MAJOR pluses for this type of setup. You won't be disappointed.

Great mesh system
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, this has been a good little mesh unit. Reaches across my whole house and garage! I was using a netgear ax80 before, and that thing cost me almost $500! This unit does the work of that, and more for 1/3 the cost.

Easy Setup and Very Fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The setup was quite easy to do and I'm getting wireless transfer rates around 866 Mb/s. I bought this to replace my old Netgear R6400 router, which just up and died on me one day. I bought this so I could get a signal way out in my backyard, but the only problem I'm having is that my house isn't big enough to require a router and a satellite, so they are a little too close together. it doesn't bother my computers, but my daughter's phone often gets confused as to which device to connect to, which causes her connection to drop on occasion.

Wow...the BEST WiFi system!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did a speed test before & after setup...doubled my download speed & better coverage on 1756 sq ft 2-story. Steady & reliable connection. Make sure to disable the WiFi if you’re upgrading from modem/router combo. Easy to set up. I had some errors during registration process but after a few minutes I was able to access the settings in the app. The app also has a cool option to turn on a “guest WiFi” for times when you have people over. So far the best WiFi I have encountered.

Great wifi service where I needed it.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am really impressed with the service I get at all corners of my house. Speed tests went from 30's and 40's all the way up the the purchased speed of 1MB. The garage is a little weak still, but I actually remained connected while at my neighbors house.

Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned several routers and router extenders in my life and this is by far the best. It's not cheap, but it's simple to setup and easily blanket your entire home in sweet sweet Wifi with no dead zones. Not to mention it can handle as many wifi connected devices you can throw at it without even a hiccup. Plus it's fast!

Great so far!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my old Netgear Orbi with this newer one and so far no issues. It covers more square footage ( not that I needed that) . Haven't needed to use the satellite that comes with it. I paired it with the satellite from my old one.

So far, so good!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the only router/extender combo that works in my house. It gets all areas of a 2500 sq ft house upstairs and downstairs. I’ve spent so much money on new “improved range” wireless routers and there was always a dead zone in the middle of the house. Now with the Orbi, I get the wireless signal in every room. It only took like 5 different routers and 4 different extenders. Why did it take so long, I’ll never know, but I am quite happy with the Orbi so far.

well worth the cost
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Xfinity wireless strength is a joke. I then went to a wireless extender but all that does is extend low wireless speeds. Could not stream no matter how good the signal was- the bandwidth was severely lacking. This unit is a true mesh so no hopping from router to extenders and dedicated streams per device so no buffering. Speeds at or close to the wired speeds- amazing! Also can even easily get super strong signal at the neighbors house! No regrets, stupid easy to set up, secure and offers a guest network with a splash page you can edit plus a password. TECH STUFF**** Switches from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz on its own as needed and has its own 5Ghz backbone to manage it. Bi-directional due to multiple antennas. Supports 802.11ac and is backwards compatible. Significant bandwidth upgrade. Xfinity was like 2-5MB wireless and 150MB wired. Orbi clocks in at 130-150MB wireless. Need to disable Xfinity wireless in the cable modem and plug Orbi main unit into router or Xfinity SSID will broadcast and use processor cycles on modem.

Great WiFi system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great WiFi system to cover your whole house with a strong WiFi signal. Setup was easy and only took about 15 minutes from box to fully setup and running. Great signal and great speed. No more video buffering issues like I had with my old system. I highly recommend this WiFi system.

Best whole house WiFi coverage ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you've read other reviews raving about the WiFi coverage and speed of this system - they are not lying. I've had several other Netgear routers over the last years, but this is no comparison. We have a 2100sqft house with the router placed on the 1st floor in one corner of our home office and one satellite placed on the second floor. We have a 100Mbit download, 7Mbit upload cable connection and I get between 70-100 Mbit download and 5-7 Mbit upload throughout the house tested with the Speedtest app on my iPad. This is 50%-80% improvement compared to my older N900 Netgear router. Setup was a breeze although I have to say I'm very familiar with Netgear's Genie. I didn't even try to use the new mobile app. I had to immediately upgrade the firmware to make use of the guest network. I opted for downloading the firmware from Netgear's support site and do the update manually instead of letting the router/satellite doing it on it's own. I updated the satellite first as recommended and then the router. Absolutely no problem at all. All in all it took me about 30-40 minutes and everything was working.
