I had been using a "bridge" to connect our Denon receiver to the wifi (a killer deal - just not wifi enabled). The signal was intermittent at best which was mostly an issue with internet radio. In researching other options, these showed up. The signal has been very consistent and the product has behaved as promised. We do leave in a house that's @10 years old. Not sure how it would work in older homes.

Installations for simple equipment goes much faster and more efficient. You may run into problems in buildings where the electrical is very old/problematic...

    Nice powerline adapter

I replaced a previous powerline adapter with this one and even though it is huge when plugged into the wall, the passthru power adapter was very helpful. It has a 3 prong plug so it wouldn't plug in upside down like my old one and my surge protectors can only only plug in the bottom socket without blocking the other outlet. With this one, I still have a little access to the top wall socket to plug in another device if needed.

I would recommend this product for any gamer who can't reach an ethernet cable to their router. It's much better than the wi-fi connection I was using. 0% packet loss!

I had no prior experience with this type of network device. I am a computer professional so I was not concerned with trying this product. You do not need to know anything about networks to use this and have it work except knowing where the modem / router is located and having a power plug nearby. Simple. I used a short grounded extension power cord so I could see the reset button, and connect buttons. Works like a charm. Networked upstairs to main level in a town home.

I needed this to extend my Apple AirPort Extreme base station using an Airport express. This did the trick -- works great. If you're doing the same look for a how-to online.

    Awesome Alternative to Cable Routing

I needed a way to obtain a better connection for gaming. Unfortunately my main router is upstairs and my rig is downstairs. A long Ethernet cable was out of the question. After experimenting with various WiFi connections, I realized my connection would be unstable no matter what I would do. Enter the powerline, a godsend from above. Easy setup; fast and stable connection. From my understanding though, YMMV depending on your current home's electrical wiring integrity. While I was able to achieve a stable connection, my speeds aren't as fast as connecting directly to the router.

I'm using this to make a connection from my house to a barn on my property. There is quite a reduction in speed out at the barn, and every once in a while the signal gets interrupted and one of the devices needs to be unplugged and then plugged in again to regain the connection, but it works most of the time and meets my needs.
