I needed an internet connection where I had no router near. This enabled me to have a solid connection without any additional wiring needed. A great solution to my problem.

This replaced the network adapter I had with my TV; plugged in both nodes, connected one to my TV with an ethernet cable, logged into my network and that was all I had to do.

I wanted to extend my LAN to a spot where my WiFi was weak. Unfortunately, I couldn't get them to work well in that location. They worked fine in some places, but not where I needed them. The instructions clearly warn you that this might happen. You're at the mercy of your wiring. I don't know any way to figure that out; you'll have to try them.

This thing works great. Make sure you go directly to the wall outlet on the PC you are getting the connection for not a power strip. It works much better that way.

Was using the Netgear Powerline 500 units, which were fine, but was limited to ~30mb of throughput. Not a big deal as our internet circuit was only "up to 35mbs." Since Comcast upped our circuit to 150mbs, (not a hard cap as I get well over 150mbs directly wired to the router) I was leaving ALOT of bandwidth on the table. Upgraded to the Powerline 1200 units and consistently get ~172mbs now. Don't know how they compare against other powerline units, but I'm happy.
