We traveled thru Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. My pictures turned out amazing. My husband, who hates any technology, was able to take photos with little help.
Very lightweight, amazing zoom without the heavy lens of my old digital camera

I bought this camera specifically for a vacation trip. I own Nikon professional DSLR cameras for work but didn’t want to lug around the weight. I was especially impressed with the electronic viewfinder for a camera in this price range. The movable screen was very helpful for low and high point of view photos. The image quality was very good. Many photographers might not consider this camera because there is no reference to the use of filters in the Nikon literature. . This camera will use 52mm threaded filters. I would not have considered this camera if it had no filter capability. If you are looking for a light weight feature packed bridge camera, I would recommend you strongly consider the Nikon Coolpix P610 camera.

Purchased both the P610 and P900. Kept the P610 as it is a much smaller size so more practical to carry around. Also it was about $200 less that P900. The Zoom with digital is the same as optical only on P900. Takes good pictures in lower light than previous older Olympus digital camera.

Got this since the p900 wasn't available but after using the p900, I think this is overall, a better deal. The pictures are indistinguishable to me, the extra 20 some x optical zoom wasn't as noticeable as I thought it would be. Besides that slight negative, the p610 is smaller, lighter, cheaper and functions smoother/quieter!

I am still working through all of the bells and whistles but I am very happy with this camera. The Zoom is amazing. I am still trying to understand the WiFi features, but have figured how to connect the camera to a smart phone and how to actually snap pics using the a smart phone as a remote. I recommend downloading or buying the manual as well as taking a fun photographer class

This is a quality zoom camera especially for traveling when you do not want to carry your DSLR with extra lens. Much lighter and more compact than carrying 3 extra lens. I expect it will be great for hiking as well for the same reasons. Pictures are great and camera is easy to use.

I don't know how to say it any more clear...we are hard on cameras! The battery life and durability is what you expect from a high end bridge camera and the focus distances from short to long are great. We use these for forensic purposes and have had them in temps below 0 to above 100 and they work as needed. Only wish they had a threaded lens end so I could put a daylight filter on them so I don't scratch the lens, but other than that they have survived snow, rain, dust, heavy grease and the occassional drop. Just a word of warning, they will not hold up to a semi-driver backing over your camera...been there, done that, unfortunately. We have captured as many as 500 photos on a single battery charge with some battery left over. High quality macro images with fine detail just like an SLR, but way cheaper and without the worry of damaging a lens or camera body. If you need a quality camera but are rough on your equipment, this is a fantastic choice!

Easy to setup. Takes great photos. Fantastic zoom. Have not played with advanced settings yet. So far auto settings take crystal clear pictures. It is worth the extra money for this digital zoom vs a $200 range camera. The auto focus is much quicker even on max zoom.

I read many reviews for this and the P900 camera and for the price chose this one. So far I have been out numerous times taking photos of everything for wildlife on the bike trail to buildings in a historic town near me and have not been disappointed yet. So far I have only used in full auto but plan to soon start trying this camera out in manual mode. The long range zoom is fine for what I want and works quite well. I don't regret this purchase one bit.

I have had this camera about a month. I went online and got the real users' manual. I am now starting to understand and use the manual settings. This 60x zoom is amazing. I live in Portland, Oregon and have legible closeups of Mt. Hood (roughly 70 miles away) from Rocky Butte in East Portland. Overall, it is an easy camera to use and takes great photos, even in auto mode. It is not too heavy and you don't have the added weight of more lenses. I returned the first camera because I found it awkward. This is for fun. I am not trying to be a pro so that 60x zoom is all I need.

I received this camera for Christmas and it is incredibly easy to use. it takes beautiful and crystal clear photos. I go to several hockey games a year and the lighting has always been an issue for good pictures, but this camera can take a picture up on the 300 level and look just as good as if I were standing on the ice.

The P610 offers multiple settings allowing for great versatility in photoing various scenes. The 60 power zoom is exceptional. Photos taken of birds over 50' away depict fine clarity. A landscape photo taken with my new camera was chosen "Photo of the Day" by a regional weather service.

This is our 2nd camera in this line.I bought the 42x opt zoom version a few years ago. It's durable and has enough manual controls to give almost the same options as a full DSLR. The zoom works great and the pictures can blow up to 13x19 without any quality loss. When it was time for our daughter to upgrade, buying this camera was the easy solution.

This is the best thing short of buying a camera with exchangeable lenses, 60X zoom, different built-in filters, and various shooting modes. I can't wait for my first out-of-town shooting experience. Used it to take a team photo and the quality was super. It looked like it was taken with a professional setup. Don't hesitate to buy this camera.
