I really am impressed with the Z5 / 24-200 lens combo. I think it's the perfect lens to start out with on the Z series camera bodies. It's a great walk around lens. The reach is great and it works really well with the 5 axis built in stabilization built into the Z5 body. It allows you to get sharp photos handheld even in low light without the ISO going too high.
I must say i really love the EVF in this camera. I came from a D7500 which has an optical view finder. This allows you to see in real time what your photo will look like. No more guessing!
At $1999, even on sale, it wasn't exactly cheap. But...you have to remember...you're getting a full frame mirrorless Nikon camera and a really good lens. Those lenses add up quickly.
As a retired LEO / amateur photographer, I'm very excited to get to know my Z5 over the next few years as I travel the USA.

I recently purchased the Nikon Z5 kit with the 24-200mm lens and found the camera and lens to be a great combination.
What I really like about the Z5 is the size and the shape of the grip. It makes for a smaller size camera that is easy to hold.
I like the dual SD card slots, the menu customizations modes, and the ability to create your own filters in camera. From my initial tests, the camera performs very well using high ISO setting and the autofocus is quick.
Only issues I've found is the low burst rate, and 4K crop for video (which I don’t use much; I prefer photos).
So, if you’re an amateur / freelance photographer this package is a great value.

I bought this for my son as a Christmas slash graduation
gift and he absolutely loves it! pictures come out great and is very smooth and light weight. The lens is fantastic and gives you a great range for taking many different type of shots.

I love my new Nikon z 5. This is my first mirrorless camera. It is lighter than my DSL. I am excited to learn more about it. So many new features. Looking forward to using it for travel and portraits of families and friends at parties.

Over 2 weeks in my possession I am loving this camera and then I learn more about it. So glad I decided to buy this. The User's Guide that comes with it is like a "quick start" guide. The first 98 pp explain its operation. Then I went online, as noted in the Guide, and looked at the Reference Manual. There are at least 790 pages, including about the lens in the kit and another lens. I had a D50 which I haven't used in a few years. As I started to get acquainted with the Z5, I remembered some of the operations. Without being able to compare the 2 of theme side by side, I wondered if I was considering a lesser camera. Over 2 months I researched reviews on the Z5. They couldn't adequately in words describe its inherent beauty. The Z5 has & does so much more, I don't regret every dollar the Z5 cost, and I've only read about 80 pages of operation. I can't wait to read all of it. PS ... The support team was quick to reply [to my registration question and about my D50] and respond with help via email which left the door open to ask further questions if their response wasn't complete. I'm totally impressed with the product and customer support!

Bought this camera to take pictures of my kid's soccer games and for travel photography. Large change from my previous D3100 from a dozen years ago. Easy to adjust on the fly. The Nikkor Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 is versatile.

This is a great camera! Not too heavy and takes great photos, large selection of versatile lenses. Probably for a more intermediate to advanced photographer ideally but, with patience is great for beginners too. I love the ability to force to the viewfinder only and turn off the monitor for night sky shots.

As a long time Nikon user, I decided to make the move from a crop sensor DSLR to a full frame mirrorless camera. I spent a couple of months researching several cameras for the features I wanted and at a reasonable price. The Z6ii was what I preferred but it was out of my price range. The Z5 is an amazing camera and I am very pleased with the performance and quality of images in getting. I recommend anyone getting in to full frame mirrorless to start with this.
Great camera for intermediate and experienced hobb

Great camera for intermediate and experienced hobby photographers. The features, functions, and quality is all here. The main thing is to be patience and learn all the new ways of doing things you're accustomed to doing (especially when moving from an older Canon DSLR to a new Nikon Mirrorless Z5).

Excellent photo quality. Sharpness and light for indoor photos are excellent. It comes with
24-200 mm lens which is very good deal. I switched to Nikon Z6 as its final price is very close to Z5 24-200 mm lens and Nikon Z6 has more advance features than Z5. Z5 is best entry level mirrorless camera. Photo quality is same as Nikon Z6. Overall Z5 is worth to buy.

I've been very happy with the Nikon Z5. My previous camera was a Nikon D5200, and I waited to make the jump to mirrorless. The 24-200 mm VR has been excellent, sharper than I thought it would be. I can't wait to take it traveling! Love the video IQ, and pictures have looked great.
