Good controller for sure. Buttons are more smoother than my PDP controller. Button layout is a little different, just have to get used to it. Smooth operation and better feel.

This controller is a must have if you own the shield tv pro. It’s feels solid and has a nice weight to it. Thumb stick and buttons response really nice with a clicks and resistance. Feels good in the hands... no plastic or hollow feel here. Well made. A must... for playing games for sure!!

This is so much better than the remote that the pro shield comes with. You can speak into it and it's great for games too! A must have for all pro shield users!

Firstly I need to point out that I bought this for my 2015 Nvidia Shield Android TV and it works great. If you read the description you'll see that this controller uses bluetooth instead of wi-fi direct to communicate with the Shield, which means that if you try to add it using their "add accessory" tool it will NOT work. But if you add it like a normal bluetooth device it will pair just fine. I think it's a bit overpriced, but apparently this is what controllers cost in today's market (I only game on PC) so I can't really blame them for that. I'm sure an update to the Shield will allow their app to recognize bluetooth controllers, but for now it's still great. Also, this controller is way better than the previous one in terms of weight, function buttons, and size plus it can link as a bluetooth controller to any other device that accepts bluetooth gamepads. I'm very satisfied with this controller. As a side note: if you intend to use this controller for multiplayer in Gamestream you'll need to enable "multi-controller mode". I didn't know this setting existed so I was confused at first.

The new NVidia shield TV controller for the 2017 model works even great with the original 2015 model (which is what I have). Compared to the original NVidia shield controller, this one is much smaller and is easier to grip with both hands. -Pros: Smaller and easier to grip. Cosmetic design makes it look awesome. Pretty good battery life. -Cons: No always on light to indicate the controller is powered on Difficult to pair wirelessly to an older NVidia shield model (2015).

I have owned the Shield TV since it was shortly launched. I still love this device and use it almost daily. The best part is, it continues to dominate the market as there still has yet to be anything even years later that comes close to the power/performance that this device has. NVIDIA giving the option to buy the upgraded controller separately was a great idea, and the refreshed design is even better than the original. Playing games on the Shield TV is even better now!

awesome! this controller works perfectly in my gaming laptop, i have to said that i almost return the controller because i spent a lot of time trying to configure in my laptop, but the key is: use the bluetooth, i know they said that we can use via bluetooth or cable, but in windows 10, bluetooth is the only option, after you setup your controller, conect the cable.

Improved design over original controller. Smaller, lighter and more ergonomic than the original. Little pricey as I actually considered just buying a new shield tv to get it.

Without the controller, the Shield TV is not able to take full advantage of all the excellent games that are available on it, so if you want to play games on your Shield, you definitely want the controller. Luckily, the controller is great. It is very comfortable to hold, despite its angular appearance. It's the same basic layout as an Xbox controller, though it's thinner and flatter than Xbox. The Nvidia button triggers the Google Assistant. Android TV's back, home, and play buttons are on the bottom center. I didn't see them at first but once you know they're there they are easy to use. Coming from a Switch, I'm having to adjust to the A and B buttons being swapped, but that would be true with an Xbox controller too. Unlike the Switch controller, this one DOES have a headphone jack, which is awesome. Not only does it mean that you can play games with a headset, it also lets you use headphones for movies or music if you don't want to be loud. The controller is Bluetooth and also works with PC and can be mapped in Steam.

The shield controller I only use for my shield table and games on steam. It is simple set up to connect to my tablet and it is very responsive. I love that I can use the controller to turn down the volume on my tablet in the middle of playing games on my tablet. It works smoothly with steam.

Main reason for my purchase was a excellent controller with wireless capabilities for the PC. This I will mention wasn't by any means a plug an play setup. It took a new Nvidia graphics update an another update provided by the Nvidia Shield (Get the controller on its newest firmware) to get it working. Nevertheless after getting everything figured out it works fine. No issue an in conclusion, YES this will work with a PC both wired/wireless(provided you have a Bluetooth USB adapter - 10$ in PC section.).

I purchased this because my old ones battery just didn't hold a charge. This is a different design than my old one, and it works even better, in games, and general navigation on the Shield. This is most certainly an improvement over the old design and the battery really lasts.
