Left Nikon after 25 years for Olympus

After shooting Nikon equipment for over 25 years, I kept hearing rumblings about this awesome new camera from Olympus when it first came out. I kept reading articles and watching YouTube videos from other pros who left Nikon or canon to go with the micro 4/3 system and just loved it. I was intrigued and after much research and speculation, I rented one from lensrentals.com and tried it out for a couple weeks. After shooting with it for a couple days I immediately bought the camera from best buy and have been shooting with it almost exclusively for several weeks now. My Nikon bodies are collecting dust. It is so much lighter than my Nikon gear, but still produces great shots. And live composite really sold me on it. I’ve included a couple shots I got within a few hours of receiving the camera. Also included two shots of me shooting with the Olympus with a 300mm f/4 lens (equivalent to a 600mm full frame) vs. shooting with my Nikon D850 and a 500mm f/4. So much smaller and lighter. The moon shot was all handheld utilizing the IBIS to produce a shot I would taken several minutes to set up my Nikon on a tripod to get.

I am in love with this camera. The quality of the photos is amazing. It is easy to adjust the settings, and I love the dual option for holding the camera. The type of photography I do the most is macro and this camera is a beast. Combined with my 60 mm macro lens then interns focus stacking this camera can do is proving invaluable. I have even been using the focus stacking for portraits and the end results are great. I should say I am not a professional photographer, I pursue photography as a hobby but I do a shoot a lot and I do a lot of research. I also really like Olympus brand cameras and their customer service is some of the best I have ever experienced. I have called them multiple times, prior to even purchasing their product, and they were super helpful when answering my questions about functionality.
