Excelent receiver. Easy to configure; the most challenging task is when the remote moves from zone 1 to zone 2 and you may think that it is not working at all.

Good sound. easy to operate, wifi, blue tooth, setup is easy, HDMI out to ARC input to 4K TV (this feature is wonderful, use the 5.1 or 7.1 speakers in the room for TV sound). Pandora included (plus 5 more), powered zone2, or pre amp out to zone2 (to auxiliary amplifier). Had some questions at first and received excellent help from customer support. Only wish this model had a 12v trigger for my sub woofer. The next model up has it.

This is my second onkyo receiver and There’s a reason why I’ve stuck with them. Their set up is easy, controls are easy, and the quality of sound and picture is unbelievable! My only compliant would be how close the speaker cables outlets are. Those are the only thing (due to the tight space) that can be frustrating to set up, but that’s only in the beginning and then your done with it until you need to move it.

This receiver is a great value, especially if purchased in the shopping season. The power is more than adequate for any mid-range system. Pairing this receiver with the correct speakers is more important in my opinion. The easy of use and the options are very impressive.

I've looked at receivers over the last few months trying to decide exactly what I wanted. I only have a 5.1 speaker setup, so I am only about to speak about these features. In the future, I hope to set up the second room capability.
I have 5 HDMI inputs, so this receiver fit the bill for handling all of those. I hooked this one up and used the provided mic to let it automatically adjust the speakers. Most of the sound was decent, but I wanted a little more bass, so I tweaked the settings a bit for the subwoofer - mostly adjusting the crossover values and turning up the gain on the sub itself.
One oddity that I kept having was when turning over to my cable box. After a few seconds, the receiver would automatically switch back to TV. I initially thought something was wrong with the receiver, but turns out it is something called ARC (Audio Return Channel) on the HDMI from the TV. The TV is an older generation Samsung with AnyNet+. I read some forums where people have suggested different solutions, some of which including using separate digital audio from the TV and/or cable box. I wanted to only use the HDMI cables instead of adding more cables to the mix, so I would up disabling the AnyNet+ on my TV. With my setup, I can do without it anyway. Since doing that, I have had no isssues.
This receiver packs enough punch to drive my Klipsch satellites with no problems. The sound is pretty decent, especially for the price range that I have spent on everything. I can turn things up to about 80% and I hear virtually no distortion.
I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

This is my first A/V receiver. Coming from a much older Luxman non-A/V receiver, there were four features I wanted. [1] Equal or better sound than the superb Luxman. [2] Connection specifically for a turntable. [3] Ability to connect the cable box to the receiver, pass the signal through to the TV, so that I can choose when I want the sound to come only from the TV. [4] Relative ease of use.
[1] This Onkyo passed with flying colors. The sound is clean, clear, awesome. It comes with a variety of equalized settings that bring the best out of my 5-1 speaker set up. It comes with a room calibration feature that is easy to use and produces great results. [2] My Dual turntable works very well with the Onkyo's turntable jacks and cartridge-grounding screw. [3] Not only can I listen to the TV without using the Onkyo, it also remembers which way I was listening. [4] Using the cable controller to cable/TV off, the Onkyo shuts itself off when the TV is off. Switching between components (cable, tuner, turntable, DVD, etc.) is easy and it remembers the sound equalization for that particular component.
I am really pleased. There is much more about this receiver than I've written in this review.

I did a lot of research on home theaters receivers before I set foot in the store. I received excellent advice from a young man on the sales floor who advised that I wait to buy until it went on sale a few weeks later. I'm glad I did. This system works great with my old Panasonic speakers, and once I added a subwoofer, it has greatly increased my enjoyment from watching movies, hockey, or listening to music. The many hdmi inputs are very convenient too. The set up was very simple.

Very pleased...had plenty of HDMI outputs, plus Wifi & Bluetooth. This replaced a 10 year old Sony which was fine but the technology has surpassed it. Set up was very easy, and gives me a much cleaner set of options with DVD, streaming, cable box, and various BlueTooth devices.
I did have to tweak the center channel volume a bit after initial setup to boost dialog sound during DVD playback.
Very pleasant sound, and very happy with this as an upgrade choice.

I bought this receiver for a 3000 Sq. Ft. home with built in ceiling speakers in every room. It was perfect for the house and anyone with access to my WiFi can stream music to the speakers using Spotify, Pandora, AirPlay, Chromecast and other services. I really recommend this! You will be using it all the time. It can even connect to your TV via an ARC HDMI and it will play the TV sound via the speakers connected to your system.

Bought this after having a slim line marantz for a couple days. What a difference. More power, better sounding, and easier set up. Very happy with the onkyo. Beats the so called warm sounding marantz, or should I say ear piercing marantz.

I LOVE this thing. The app to control the features right from my phone is awesome! I haven't hooked up all the speakers to go 7.2 or connect to zone 2 yet, but I have my 5.1 connected and it's still amazing. The features are what sold me on this along with all the inputs. I can connect with Bluetooth from my phone and even control the entire receiver without having to find the remote. It's awesome.

Prior to this one I had a Sony amp that did not do HDR. I upgraded to this one for my sound system running 5.1. I how to connected to my Apple TV, my Xbox one, and my cable box. It works great with 4K and HDR. The only thing lacking is that it must be turned up to 75% volume sometimes for it to be loud enough.

The Onkyo amp lives up to all of its features, and the included reference microphone makes speaker setup very easy. There is ample power to drive a 7.1 speaker system and it has the flexibility to do an alternate 5.1 if you so desire. As far as connectivity is concerned, both the speaker wires and all a/v cables were easy to connect. All in all a good unit and good value for the money. I also appreciate the very low distortion sound it produces.
