This one perfectly fits my macbook pro. I was looking for this hub in other websites but the price was very high. When I saw clearance here, I didn't think twice to buy it. It's a perfect deal in this price range.

Found this little gem on sale. They can be expensive, but definitely worth it if you need to plug in multiple ports or even just one usb. It is very sturdy and feels very high quality (weight wise).

I use every port - Ethernet for direct-connect ssh sessions, HDMI, charging port, etc. I’m not a fan of taking up both Mac ports but it’s just a minor annoyance. I did run into a situation with another brand (feel I shouldn’t call them out, but they are at Target) where the HDMI didn’t work and held up a presentation. Someone else had a different brand adapter and it worked fine. I’m much more confident that this model will work every time I need it to.

I really hate browsing for accessories for the MacBook Pro and how Apple sells accessories for such a high price. So it was nice to find a connection hub that has everything for a good price. Since I bought this, I’ve been using everyday for work and school and haven’t had any issues at all with any of the connections. The quality of the product is a hard plastic but so far, it’s durable and I’ve probably dropped it a few times here and there but never had it broke or stopped working. Overall it’s great and affordable.

Picked this up to go with my new 2019 Macbook Pro. Whether you prefer the "dongle" type hub or one that lays flush next to your computer is a matter of personal preference. I personally wanted the "dongle" type. PROS - 8 ports; SD / Mini SD / 2 x USB 3.0 / 1 GB Ethernet / 4k HDMI / 2 x USB C. Pretty much everything you might need while we all await the full transition to USB - C. Provides a sturdy connection to your computer by utilizing 2 USB-C ports. There are 2 USB - C ports on the Hub so you're not losing any connectivity. I've connected an external monitor, hard drive, USB sticks and SD cards - all with no problem. Unit is plug & play - worked instantly upon being connected to my Macbook Pro. CONS - Hub will not charge external peripherals unless you have your laptop's power charger plugged in through the USB - C pass through port. I can't - for instance - plug in my phone to charge through one of the hub's USB 3.0 ports unless I also have the hub / laptop plugged into a wall outlet. Not a deal breaker but annoying. The sucker gets hot. Real hot. Not hot enough to burn you obviously but hot enough for you to think "Wow. That's real hot." Does not seem to effect functionality or my lap top but it heats up enough to make you go "hmmmmm." OVERALL: Works great. The charging / heat issues are not a big enough deal for me to return it. Has more ports than a lot of other similar models. I'm happy with the purchase.

Great to use if you have a cover on your Mac!! Allows 6 other devices along with charging

I recently had to purchase this because I started working from home and I needed an adapter to connect my ethernet cable to. I saw this apple product and decided to purchase it and I am so happy I did. I use it all the time now and not just for work. I can charge my phone and my Mac at the same time as well as connect my USB to save my ebooks for School. Its super convenient and the size of the product is slightly smaller than my iPhone X :)

Worked great and was a great price. Not complicated to use at all... great for the non techie person

The dock works well enough and is a great deal if you can get it on sale. My only gripes are that it is in a plastic housing, which really hasn’t been a problem, it was just a surprise to me. Also the cable to plug into your laptop is really, really short. Again, it’s not really so much a problem as it is something to just be aware of.

When plugging this into my Macbook Pro, there's zero inconvenience or uncomfortability. The convenience of having all these ports and slots in one handy device heavily outweighs the inconvenience of not having them built into the laptop in the first place. I'll gladly give up having the ports and slots built in to have such a thin and lightweight laptop. I also love that it comes in colors that match Apple's own!

I purchased this for a 2019 MacBook Pro to use the Ethernet jack and the SD card reader. It has met my expectations. It’s a little bit awkward if you’re not using on a desk or table. I have used all the jacks and everything functions as advertised. The Lan connection is gigabit capable and works great with my gigabit internet. Build quality is first rate.

I don't understand why these things are so expensive, why they always have such short cables, or even why Apple eliminated these ports from their computers in the first place. However, this one locks in nicely due to the dual prong configuration, and has all the ports I think I'll need.

This is a must have for anyone with a MacBook. Great design and function.

I purchased the Dual USB C 8 port for my wife's new MacBook Pro and she loves it. The fact that it provides 4K streaming for conference, stream videos and movies for the kids its well worth its value. She also likes the fact that its small enough to fit in her laptop bag and pursue when at college, work or travelling.

It works fine. But it feels “messy” in use. It dangles out pretty far and the cords plugged into it take up more desk space than than I’d expected. I always have a display and USB’s hooked in, which being on opposite sides, mean the one(s) plugged in the “bottom” either curves way out to the side or vertically 4” high over it’s top. Now I understand why this one was on clearance and the “neater” edge mount styled ones were not. Since I’ve used it for several months with no functional issues, I only docked it one star for the usability annoyance. (And that’s partly my own lack of imagination; you can simply look at it and picture cords flying every which way. Doh!)

Yes, this port does work on the 2020 MacBook air. I didn't have to install any drivers as far as I can remember either. It works really well so far and haven't had any issues yet. I haven't used the ethernet, HDMI, or micro SD so I can't speak to those but the USB, USB-C, and SD slots work great!
