I own an expensive traditional stereo system I bought at a high end music store for my den. Top-tier all the way as I've always appreciated the finer acoustic characteristics of an outstanding system. So I was skeptical about buying my first wireless system for my living room. And although I can't say SONOS system sounds as good as my wired system, I can say it comes surprisingly close and costs many thousands less. Adequate to very good bass, brilliant high end, very strong mid range. The speakers are 3.5 feet off the floor, vaulted ceiling, hardwood floors, some upholstered furniture and the sound is rich, bold, brilliant. Easy (even fun) to use and best of all, my wife loves it so I get to play my music more often and louder than I otherwise could! Took me less than 10 minutes to set up and so far over the 6 weeks since I bought it, no glitches or other technical issues. This system is actually better than I expected and worth every penny. It's my first wireless system, can't compare it to any other, but stacks up extremely well against the higher end wired systems I've owned.

The Play 5 was my first Sonos unit and since then I added a Sonos Playbar and we are considering getting another Play 5 or Play 3 for our home. Great sound and a breeze to set up. It takes longer to get unit out of the box then to pair with the Sonos system. Speaking of the Sonos app it is clearly the best in the business. Seamless connection and never once has it dropped from wifi in our home. If just started out with a Sonos system the Play 5 will fill a large area with great sounding music. The Play 3 is also a good choice but the sound is not as deep and crisp as the Play 5 so in my opinion the extra $100 for the Play 5 is justified. I just wish Sonos would drop the prices on all there speakers so I can add more throughout the house.

I love the whole Sonos system. Great sounds like Bose but so much more versatile. Control it from your phone or computer, play different music on each speaker you buy, turn down your kids loud music from where ever you are using your phone. You can have all your music apps on one Sonos app (iTunes, Pandora, SiriusXM, etc, etc,) You don't have to log into each individual account to access your tunes. I love this system. I bet Bose is flipping out they didn't become this versatile sooner. Bose is great but Sonos is better.

I am completely addicted to my Sonos system. It was incredibly easy to set up. Just install the ap and do minor configuration updates. I now have music or radio in any room I want. I can even have different content on in different rooms. I can control it with my phone, my iPad and my PC. Now I am busy digitizing all of my content while I listen to Public Radio.
The only negative is that it is fairly expensive. It cost a lot less than installing custom stereo in my vintage home.

we just purchased an older home built in the 1970s which had not been wired for speakers. It is 6000 ft.² and we wanted music everywhere. We have speakers all over the house and it was so easy to install. The sound is fantastic and my little girls can have music in their bedrooms to fall asleep while we are enjoying our own music on the main floor. The only con about this system are the surroundsound two little speakers that are not that great. But everything else is super!

The Sound Just Blows you AWAY! One PLAY:5 on my remodeled pool patio and there seems to be sound everywhere. And what great Bass! There's just one PLAY:5 and you can use two for stereo and it would be fantastic....however it's great with just 1 PLAY:5. Simple to set up and operate from your iPhone 6+. Highly recommend it.

I had the smaller version of Sonos and wanted to move that smaller one into my workshop at home. I bought the bullet and went for the bigger on to replace it in my living room. Even my wife who is a total technophobe can operate it !!! Great sound and easy to set up. As long as your Wi-fi is setup and good to go (which isn't Sonos problem anyway) this is entirely worth the purchase !

Great sound from one speaker! I put this is a second room away from my main room SONOS PLAYBAR based setup and the sound is good enough to fill a large living room no problem. The updated Sonos app is easy to group speakers together and individually control the volume from each. Very easy for the "technologically challenged" individuals after the initial setup is done.

I'm gradually building my Sonos system, starting with the sound bar , then adding 2 Play 1 speakers. The Play 5 really brings a full rich sound that helps finish things off. I'll probably add the sub eventually. Sonos products really sound great and are easy to set up. If you are tired of wires this is the way to go.

Easy quick setup, manageable from multiple desktop, iPhones, station remains on the selection entered even if the originator leaves the premises. Perfect for my dog! Clear and crisp sound and synced easily w our amazon prime music and pandora stations. Can't wait to get more of the little guys to complete the set.

This item pumps great sound and easy to set up. Im very happy with it. I thinks its priced high but its worth it to go outside and use it. We have the connect amp and with that to power it 2 outdoor speakers at our pool house and for extra surround sound this comes out on our deck as needed.

I was comparing Bluetooth solutions like Bose against wireless solutions like Sonos and I concluded Sonos was the way to go. I was right. One of the beauties of the Sonos solution is I can add as I determine which rooms ought to have music. The sound quality is superior, set up is not difficult, and the only wire is for electrical power that I can easily hide. I continue to add more Sonos speakers and my home is filled with music. Did I mention that I can have different music in each or the same? This solution provides great flexibility. Enjoy!

Play 5 Speaker is loud enough to serve as the music source for my whole 1st floor about 1400 sq ft. Sound quality is great. Originally bought the Bose Soundlink and realized it was better for those seeking great sound, looks, and portability however at that price I really was more concerned with a quality music solution for my home plus if you are streaming from your phone and need to receive or make a call the music stops. So I returned it and went on a search and came across the Sonos and all I can say is Holy ShNIKEeeez.. The Play 5 sounds great, is much louder AND works off of WiFi therefore you can make & receive calls without any music interruption. The Sonos App allows you to play music from just about any online music source such as Spotify, Pandora, iHEART Radio, etc. Your phone literally is a remote. Not to mention you can put a speaker in each room up to 31 or 32 of these things and have each one playing a different song at a different volume level AND control it all from your phone. Welcome to the FUTURE!!! It is AWESOME!!!!
P.S. You need to buy the Sonos Bridge if you want have the ability to move the speaker from room to room, an outlet outside or to connect multiple speakers in different rooms. Best Buy did have a coupon for a free Bridge with the purchase of a Play 5.

The Play 5 is incredible. Enough bass to make you wonder how they put it in that little guy! The sounds are crisp and clean. We've had zero issues with dropped streaming music...........AND the way it connects to multiple Sonos products around the house is amazing.

This is our third Sonos purchase. We started with the Sonos 1, and have since added the Sonos 3 and 5. The portability and excellent sound quality make Sonos a versatile, highly recommended product.

This is my second Play 5 and I'm very happy with the sound and ease of use. Sonos has a great product line and for the money, it's a great way to enjoy music. My two play 5's sound great together or just on their own. Great buy!!
