Speeds are great and price was right. Great to replace standard drives

Without waiting for some online Transaction to ship, I was able to walk into a local stare and still get a great deal. I do wish they would carry more onternal computer parts now that we lost CompUSA/Tiger Direct store but such is life. The drive was, of course, easy to install and worked beautifully in my old MacPro. Boot time was under 15 seconds till I was typing into a browser a search. The drive did not come with a desktop caddy to adapt in size difference so I had already purchased a heat sink type caddy and then instal was a breez (most all SSDs are the laptop for factor and al,last nine come with these caddies. I don't plan on doing speed test comparisons but I know this Mac is almost twice as fast when hard drive access is really required. That's good enough for me. Longevity is still in question on any SSDs so this will carry the OS and apps but all crucial data will be on larger mechanical drives. This is my 3 SSD and seems to be on par with one OCZ drive I am running in another machine.

i wanted to upgrade my hard drive on my late 2011 macbook pro from a traditional spinning drive to a SSD. this drive got great reviews online so i decided to try it out.. Im glad I did as it was a simple install. it comes with a optional adapter plate to mimic the size of a normal spinning hard drive. the SSD itself is much thinner than a normal drive. performance has been amazing.. TRIM support for Mac OS X 10.10.4 with trim force works perfectly with this drive.. trimforce doesn't work with Samsung SSDs..

I have an older laptop from 2009; with the windows 10 upgrade coming out, I decided to swap out it's sluggish 5400 rpm hard drive for an SSD. While other SSD's might have better benchmarks, for the price this thing will run circles around a mechanical hard drive. Boot times have dropped down to 20 seconds, and you have full use of your PC as soon as the desktop comes up- Taskbar app loading no longer slow down the PC!

I purchased this PNY hard drive because of the price mostly. The drive works great and I am totally satisfied with it. It boots extremely fast and is just lightning fast. I had previously bought a 240 gigs pny and also was very happy with it. The installation was very easy everything is working great with it. I would recommend this drive to everyone.

Recently upgraded to windows 10 and wanted to compliment with SSD. Looked around for the best value price oer size and this fit the bill. Installation was easy. Purchased a usb to sata cable and copied everthing over before install. System boots up within 4 to 5 sec from cold boot. Everything feels snappier. Would recommend to anyone. This drive may nit have the fastest specs compared to Samsung but for a consumer system the difference in milliseconds will not matter.

I need an upgrade that would speed up my system. No other upgrade would have impacted speed as much as this drive. My system boots quickly in to action and does less rainbow wheel spinning. Start up time is less that 10 seconds. Best Buys price is unbeatable

I am SO pleased with this upgrade for my laptop. I replaced my hard drive with this solid state drive today and the difference is amazing! On my original hard drive, it took over 2 minutes for Windows to boot up. Now, it takes about 30 seconds. I am very impressed with this SSD, and I would highly recommend the upgrade to anyone who feels as though their laptop is beginning to move slower - this upgrade worked very well for my system! FYI - I used the Apricorn EZ Upgrade 3.0 SATA Notebook Hard Drive Upgrade Kit to clone my hard drive before replacing it with this SSD. It worked very well and the instructions were easy to follow. It also comes with an aluminum enclosure (with USB 3.0) where you can store your old hard drive after you have finished cloning and replacing it.

I have changed many hard drives out in my computers either for upgrade or repair purposes. This drive was easy to install and runs very fast. I have read some reviews that were less than favorable on the speed of the drive, but I can tell you that in my profession we run a couple of programs that are known resource hogs and this drive performs them with ease. If all you do is type spreadsheets and word documents, I do not know what kind of change you will notice, but if you run programs that boot slowly and run slowly, be prepared to be impressed. My startup time went down about 90%. I know that over time things will slow a little but this drive is well worth the money.

I've had my Lenovo Y480 since September of 2012 and she's still chugging along. It's got a 3rd generation I7 and can definitely handle tasks but it's always been held back by the 5400 HDD. That bottleneck alone unfortunately slows down this workhorse collectively from running applications,programs, and of course boot up/down. With this it has immensely reduced boot up time from 40-50 seconds to 13-18 seconds now. Programs that would take 5 seconds or so do in under 2 seconds. Great price for this which I was able to get about $183 after taxes including a free installation of the SSD itself. Regarding the OS, I made sure to make a factory dvd backup which took up a total of 3 discs and about 1hour altogether. My Laptop is definitely good to go for who knows how long now. Too bad the screen can't be replaced as easily!

This is the first SSD I've bought. Replaced my C: drive, which was on the verge of failure. Had it backed up on Carbonite. I have a separate HD for data. Instructions for preparing the SSD for installation was not included, so I looked it up in PCWorld. Excellent article on prep prior to transferring OS and programs. Performance is amazing -- fastest my PC has booted and called programs up since I bought it. The device itself was 2.5 inch form factor, and I bought a separate 3.5 inch adapter to make it fit my Dell destop -- also bought from BestBuy several years ago. Couldn't be happier. Considering replacing my HD in my laptop.

I bought this hard drive to replace the hybrid drive that came with my laptop (it crashed after just 5 months). It's half the size of the original hard drive, but I think giving up the disk space is worth the trade off for the speed - it takes just seconds for my laptop to turn on/off now. I used to never shut down my laptop because I didn't want to wait for it to boot back up again, but now, it takes such a small amount of time, I turn it off when it's not in use. Overall, I'm very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a solid state drive already.

For the price, this was the perfect SSD to extend the life of my old HP laptop. I didn't want a top performer SSD since cost would have been to the point where I might as well buy a new laptop. This SSD really speeds up boot time and Firefox launches super quick. It installed quickly and after restoring my backup to it, it came right up.

Overall, I am very pleased with the performance improvement of switching my laptop to a solid state drive. I installed the PNY SSD just before upgrading to Windows 10. The only thing lacking was a utility to clone the existing hard drive. I used a version of Acronis True Image that I have on another computer. I was concerned when I made the clone as Acronis warned that the drive would not be bootable until the BIOS was set to UEFI mode. Everything went fine as the target laptop was set to UEFI mode and there was the normal response for Windows finding new hardware and restarting. As stated, I am very happy with the performance improvement of upgrading to the PNY SSD and recommend it to anyone willing to spend the money and time.

Changed my old hard drive to this SSD and it is working great!..My computer is faster, I have far more space than I did before and I am very pleased.

The ssd was easy to setup and the seed was out of this world and with 480gb you the best of both worlds of speed and stoarge,

I have an older dell T7400 with dual quad core Xeon processors in it. My primary drive started getting noisy so I ran out to Best Buy and picked up this drive. It was simple to setup and with a fresh install of windows 10, this workstation has new life. I cant remember a time this machine was so fast. Would purchase again for sure. Great brand, fair price.

I had a 240 GB SSD but I wanted more room for programs (Oh, all right, games) So when I saw this on sale I decided to go for it. I already had the software to clone my drive so set up was easy. This SSD works very well! I have moved from Win 8.1 to 10 and things are running smoothly so far. It is fast, quiet and has room for more programs. You will be amazed at how fast Windows boots up! I may buy another for my other half! (when it goes on sale again)

I purchased this SSD for a 2009 Macbook that I was trying to breath some life back into. This one (480 GB) was the first one to fall into the price range that I desired with decent reviews. The Good: -Works with the macbook (2009) made a nearly 7 year old computer run decent again! -high capacity -couldn't beat the price point -fast The Bad: -1 year warranty (don't register with PNY) 3 year (1+2) if you do register... Many other manufactures offer a longer warranty

Bought this for my laptop that was bought new in 2009. Laptop is running great. This SSD may not have all the features of the upper echelon of them, but if you are looking for a basic SSD, can't go wrong with this one. PNY has been a company that I have gone to for many computer parts and this drive is another great product from a great company.
