Very underwhelming, my tower speakers put out more bass than this sub, it also died after a couple weeks of use, best buy gave me a refund and I bought an SVS sub

I haven't got any idea why there's such good reviews on this subwoofer!... I only got 3 words for this sub... Distortion! distortion ! distortion! Whenever I play it..It sounds like it's blown and its brand-spanking-new mind you I had a an Onkyo home theater in a box that the subwoofer knocked!!! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!.. .. NOT BROOOMMMMOO!!!BROOOMMMMOO...BRRROOOMM. I don't know why but this is my experience I love Polk audio but this subwoofer is not a woofer at all.

I purchased this to go along with the other Polk speakers that I purchased for a surround system... I ended up taking all the Polk speakers including the sub back as they weren't that great. I have a larger open concept living room and this system didn't do well at all. The sub didn't produce much power at all and when you turned it up it was somewhat distorted. This subwoofer might work nicely in a small room but I didn't test it in such a space. For the money, just upgrade to a better brand with more power, you will be happy you did!

Very dissatisfied with this unit. Kind of my fault as I though it was 100w RMS, Not peak. Cannot handle a higher end system. Lots of chuffing from the port on sustained low frequencies. Sounds terrible. Other than that it’s not an awful woofer for a lower end system and will produce decent sound for those applications. I will be returning it tomorrow.

It delivers a decent amount of bass for the price expected a lot more but it gets the job done. It's clearly no bose....

I saw lots of reviews that raved about this as one of the best subs for the price. When they went on sale I picked one up thinking to replace a 10 year old insignia sub, and to bring my system's base into line with my excellent Polk floor and bookshelf rear speakers. When I picked it up I was shocked by the size of the box- think minifridge- and I scolded myself for not checking the dimensions. This thing is easily twice the size of my old insignia sub so I had to make some space in my living room to accommodate the larger footprint. Because of the reviews and the obvious size difference I fired it up with great anticipation of a big increase in the performance over my old unit. In short the actual performance was/is a letdown. After quite a lot of tweaking, testing, tuning, tweaking again I can say that this more expensive bulkier sub seems to be muddier and more difficult to manage through my receiver than my old one. I generally don't play with too much high end stuff at home because I am pretty cheap, but I have some experience with this stuff and I am very let down by the performance. It sounds fine once I got it dialed in, but my cheap old insignia was already fine. In fact, the only reason that I didn't return the Polk was that it let me move the insignia into my home office where it added some punch to the system I have in there. I think I still would have returned it if I didn't get a good deal on it but I have learned the lesson that bigger isn't always better.

For the money you pay product is ok. I felt the sub only gave one continuous sound. Didn't seem like any high or lows. I would spend a little more money for a better product.

Bought this for our living room and wasn't that impressed. Had to turn the volume all the way up to get the full affect of the sounds during a movie.

At very high volume, windows rattled, was even loud in backyard with doors and windows closed. It is hard to balance expectations between music and movies. It sounded just ok. Then I bought klipsch before returning polk. This sounded much fuller. Not even a cloee. Kept the klipsch reference even though it cost more

I brought this subwoofer and had to return it. The subwoofer was not powerful enough for my home theater.

Used in a bar with a jukebox. Only lasted a few months before it died but thankfully got the Best Buy warranty so I had it swapped out but a few months later it died again. That time I upgraded to a Klipsch brand subwoofer and haven't had a problem since.

I was so excited when I got this big subwoofer, then I plugged it in and the excitement instantly left all the Polk system I have is amazing for the price besides this. If you’re looking for something that’s going to blow you away... this is not it.

Not solid base, very distorted. Doesn't add to the depth of sound as I had hoped.

the sub has an intermittent base drum pound that is annoying and after 3 visits by squad only solution was to turn down sub level

Bass lacks punch and is boomy for a medium room. I returned this as it was not enough improvement from my Panasonic powered 8" ported sub.

It sounds ok not to impress excepted much better from polk. It tends to rattle alot.

I hate to pan a product. I think this sub would be great for a low priced audio only use. But not for home theatre...

It is my favorite purchase item from Best Buy. I will recommend to my friends
