This is hands down one of my top favorite games of all time now. It is not quite the Zelda most people expect and I think that is a good thing. I think it gets a lot of things right, its open world, the variations in areas, the art direction, the music (or lack of), and the majestic beauty. A lot of people complain that the story is really bare, but I found that to be not true for me. I found that the story for me was the story that I created around what the developers had already put in. Getting distracted hunting a wolf, only to find myself at the edge of a cliff, with a shrine off in the distance and deciding to head there. On the way I discover some new fruit I haven't found yet and then stumbling upon a stable and meeting new people handing out side quests. Hours have passed at this point, and I still haven't made it to that shrine. This to me is how the story evolves throughout the game. It is what you make it, kind of like the most epic of choose your own adventure stories. I recommend it!

Great game, excellent story, graphics could be improved, but great graphics overall. The controls are responsive and we'll balanced. The DLC is a plus but not needed to enjoy the game to its fullest. If you are a fan of Zelda, this is one that you need to add to your collection.

I have not really been into Zelda as much as the original on NES. This game reminds me of that time. The game throws you into the world with pretty much the freedom to roam where you want, similar to the original. With that free roam comes moments where you will encounter difficult characters who will kill you in one shot, similar to the original. Looks fantastic too!

One of the best Zelda games in the series. I have played them all and this gives you hours of play time in exploration and evil doer bashing. I did miss the temples that are prominent in every other Zelda game but after having it for a while I still am finding secrets and exploring areas I have not reached. Great for wasting time while traveling.

Is this the best game of all time? It's possible. To even be in the running so soon after it came out should speak volumes about the quality of the game. I almost feel bad for the inevitable Breath of the Wild sequel...it has an unenviable job of following up a masterpiece.

This Zelda game is the biggest in the franchise. By biggest, I mean Hyrule is massive compared to the other games in the series. There are so many things to do in the game that you'll be side tracked on just exploring. I've climbed mountains for almost the majority of the game looking for shrines, koroks, and secrets. You do have the option of riding a horse as well.
I do have a couple issues with the game. This game has a durability system >.>. Some of the weapons break way too easily including the really good weapons. It just sucks having to find an amazing weapon, only for it to break after five or six hits. A certain type of sword also breaks (not permanently) as well. It does take some getting used to but after a while I didn't mind it as much.
Now for the weather system. The rain, oh my god, the rain. Make. It. Stop. It rains more often than the cash thrown on a stripper. Nintendo. Please patch.
There were a few times when the fps dropped but for the majority of the game it was 20-30 fps. Wished it was 60 constant but what can you do.
While these issues may seem problematic, it didn't detract me from immensely enjoying it. (Probably helped that I'm a fan of the series and I was playing AssCreed before it, which wasn't very exciting.) I would rate it a 4.5/5 and is currently my GOTY.

The Nintendo Switch brought me back to the Nintendo brand for the first time since the Nintendo 64 and Zelda was the reason why. It evokes feelings of ocarina of time but manages to be fresh and new. Lots of extra items and a bit of different strategy but true to the core of the game.

If you're a Zelda fan, this is one game you don't want to miss. Action packed, excellent backstory and dialogue. I guess I am a bit biased being that I've always been a fan of the Zelda series on Nintendo.
You won't be disappointed. Endless quests and side quests to keep your interest sparked.

I have always been a Nintendo fan, since the days of Super Mario 64. Most Nintendo franchises have caught my interest, but I never gave Zelda a try until now. This is a great game with a compelling story, and gameplay that is intuitive and often physics-based which feels fresh and exciting.

This was really easy to purchase and i got a fantastic deal on black friday for it! Its a wonderful, expansive game. My 8 year old has a bit of difficulty with this. It seems to be geared toward 10+, or more practiced players if theyre younger.

Expansive, addicting game. The best Zelda ever, and i love Ocarina of Time. I have spent about 20 hours playing the game thus far, and am not even 1/10 of the way into the game. Any Zelda fan or open world adventure fan will love this game. Beware: wives/girlfriends, this may cause your husband/boyfriend to be distracted for quite some time, but he will be HAPPY!!!

This game is truly amazing and by far the best installment out of the entire series! The story is engaging, the graphics and gameplay are top notch with plenty to do to keep you playing for months on end.
If you’re on the fence about buying a Nintendo Switch, you could buy it simply for this game alone and never be disappointed.

Growing up as a child, Zelda was on of the first games that I ever played all the way through and beat. Since then, the Zelda series has always brought adventure into the game. If you're a huge fan of Zelda, you need to grab this game. New to the Zelda series? You won't regret your purchase. Rich story, and awesome game play.

This is a game with ton's of content to keep you going. Nintendo has put fourth a great game. I didn't know too much about it other than hearing great things about it, and I was absolutely blown away in the first hour of playing it. This is hands down, one of the best games I have ever played. It is beautiful, complex, and breathtakingly enormous.

I have only played it for about 5-10% of its size. In my very limited gaming experience, my favorite type of game used to be combat racing. Zelda (Breath of the Wild) may have changed that for me. I love the technical side of it. The sound makes me feel like I am there, in nature. The only part that I don't like about it (and it's not Zelda in particular, but these types of games) is the complexity of things that you acquire, the large number items that you can have in your inventory and use to cook, for example. I repeat that my video-gaming experience is limited, but this title has redefined my expectations of what is possible in terms of beauty, art, direction, and technics, especially on such modest hardware as the switch. I purchased the game and tried it because of hearing people about the experience of it being special, and it did deliver; now Zelda holds a special place in my heart too!

Love Legend of Zelda and this is a great game to add to the collection. Great open world. Lots to explore. Wish it had standard dungeons like the past games. Cant wait for Tears of the Kingdom next year.

BOTW has so much content and "replay" value. I put replay in quotes because even if you finish the main storyline, there is so much you can do and you can play it however you want. Plus, the graphics are beautiful, and I never get tired of exploring the map. Definitely worth every penny!

This is an amazing game. It exceeded my expectations even when I was hyped for it months in advance. I am an avid zelda fan and enjoyed how different and open world BOTW was. My only regret is finishing the game. I put over 160 hours into the game and still play here and there.
I see huge replay value in this game. I will be keeping it for a long time!

I absolutely love this game. Its complex but easy to undestand at the same time.
The amount of hidden items, and stuff to do is outstanding.
Been playing it everyday since i bought it and i am not even 50% into the game.
Its graphics are very good and the story is simply excellent.
Every switch owner should play this.

BotW offers a huge, dynamic open world to explore, with many things to do and discover. The shrines and temples offer lots of puzzles to solve, and while the game starts off very challenging as you progress it can be as easy or hard as you want it to be. And the characters/story while a little on the lean side got me emotionally invested nonetheless.
