So I've had this game for about a week now and what can I say except: wow! The graphics are amazing, there's so much to do aside from the main quest, and it gets the brain moving. I don't think I will tire of this game anytime soon. Like I said there's so much to do and see in this game that you kind of lose track of time. It even allows for actual science to be applied in this game. It truly is exceptional and everyone who worked on it should be extremely proud of the outcome because it is astounding and breath taking. I hope that I do get done in time for part two, but even if I'm not that'll be ok because I'll still be discovering new things in this one I believe.

Breath of the Wild is a return to the open-world, go anywhere design that hasn't really been present in the series since Zelda for the NES. The world is HUGE and the vistas when you reach a tall mountain peak are incredible.
Combat is fun and varied, and difficult enough that you are encouraged to use different abilities and equipment types. There's a full cooking and collecting system, ability upgrades, a compendium to fill out (like Pokemon Snap!), and tons and tons of shrines to conquer.
The shrines are super fun and varied, and many offer multiple solutions to the puzzles. They reminded me very much of early Portal levels.
Bosses are exciting and huge! Finding new equipment and locations is fun on its own. Overall, this is the most impressed I've been with a Zelda game since Ocarina of Time on the N64. Definitely worth the long wait between games. I can't wait to see Nintendo developers apply lessons learned here to their other franchises.
I can easily see myself putting 100 hours or more into this one game.

I have played every Zelda that has ever come out, so I had to have this one. I haven’t completed the game yet, but I love everything about it so far, except for the weapons keep breaking and you constantly have to get new ones. Other than that, it’s a great game.

I don't normally buy a console for just a single game, but this was the reason I bought the Switch! This is literally what I've been looking for in an open world game with a story you can follow. A must have for any Zelda fan!

I purchased this game along with a couple others when first getting my Switch. As a fan of both the Zelda franchise and open world games, this game really drew me in. I am constantly surprised by discovering new things I can do as well as behavior details in the enemies. This game is excellent.

I have grown up on the Zelda franchise, the first console I ever owned was the original NES, and the first game I played on it was the gold cartridge Legend of Zelda. Since then I have played every single Zelda game release so it was no brainer that I would be picking up this game. As a matter of fact I purchased the Nintendo Switch specifically to play this game.
The game is amazing, graphics are very nice, not the best but absolutely nothing to sneeze at. Unlike previous Zelda games you do not have to complete temples in a specific order, and their isn't any real push or guidance other than some general instructions. I have been playing around 10 hours, and have spent much of that time exploring the enormous world. I have only completed the elephant divine beast, and I know I have much more to complete, but I am enjoying getting lost in this new world.
As a side note, it is great to have this on the Switch and be able to play this on the go, and effortlessly transition between mobile gaming and home console gaming.

I love being able to bring such crisp clear zelda with me when I'm out and about, no more squinting at those nintendo ds screens! I haven't really played a Zelda game on console for awhile...twilight princess just didn't appeal to me. I love the windwaker like characters and wish they would go back to that animation since I find Nintendo is geared towards kids anyways. The game is fun to play and easy to maneuver...though I did spend 10 minutes trying to get the last apple down from a tree and couldn't until I took an axe to it and when I cooked some of the apples a lot of them got lost =( I still haven't finished the game yet as I do get motion sickness from it....but I get that from all the zelda games. I'm liking what I've played so far and can't believe how easily it goes from console to handheld!

BotW is insanely amazing.. Ninty is back at it again with this one; recapturing the great hyrule immersion feel, suspense action-thrilled storytelling, and hunger for more sword wielding bokoblin smashing mountain climbing cliff diving survival crafting adventures EVER (see what I just did, yeah run-on sentence). Having followed most of the series back in the day, (except for some games that came out on Nintendo portables) I have to say this definitely makes me feel great about myself being a nerd in my late twenties and actually knocks off a couple years of me! jk seriously though even with a wife and kids this game rejuvenates me when I play. This LoZ game reminds me of when OoT debuted as being one of the biggest Zelda game at the time (next to LoZ Link to the past imo) and man oh man those were the days. Here we are again, day one purchase and I've barely dug into the game, thus so far so good. I'm going to pace myself and enjoy this game to the fullest and just like the the review summary reads: Eat Sleep BotW REPEAT!

Breath of the Wild truly is one of those games that is "as good as everyone says it is." It is not without its shortcomings, such as the cooking system which is fun at first, but eventually, it would have been much nicer to have a list of recipes once learned to expedite the process. Menus and interfaces aside, everything else that you experience in the open world is very much an adventure. For the first time in Hyrule, you truly have the feeling of being an adventurer out in the world overcoming obstacles to continue on your path. There is so much to do that at times it is quite overwhelming. BoW brought back wonderful memories of games like Fallout 4 where you're on your way to the main quest, then boom - something shiny flies by and you find yourself lost on a sidequest or simply exploring.

My favorite game on the switch by far. There is plenty to do in the open world and will keep you entertained for hours. I love the battle system and variety of weapons available. The only thing i don't like is how all the weapons wear down and break over time but it keeps the game challenging.

I have played this game for 135+ hours and I still absolutely love it. I didn't think I could ever play a game this much but I have and I'm still addicted. The physics engine is amazing and the story is great for an open-world game. This game is the best Zelda yet. Best game on the Switch as well.

Amazing gameplay, incredibly detailed and engrossing world, classic lore and perfect continuation of the legendary series. The brilliant art style, story, and characters make for a premium experience.

Haven't played video games since the Nintendo 64 console - but this game is really great to play regardless of prior experience. If you enjoy a good story, great imagery, and a relaxing, immersive world, this is the game for you!

I haven't played a Zelda game since the NES. I am so drawn in to this game, and it's a genre I didn't think I would like. It is a survival exploration game, and I can't wait to keep on playing.
Maybe it's because I don't usually play games of this style, but I'm blown away at how great it is.

Truly a masterpiece. This game is better than any other open world game I have ever played. Around every corner, there is something interesting to explore. There are moments of exciting discovery, intense combat, humor, and simply enjoying the view. This game is the best game I have every played.
