An engrossing & long campaign against evil

The latest Wolfenstein title continues the experience of taking down evil German soldiers & does not disappoint like some previous titles. This game is single player only & with that the publishers chose to focus on a long (20 hour) engrossing campaign that has you fighting for the resistance against evil German control. It starts off during the final days of World War 2 & then jumps to 1960s. The Germans have won World War 2 & have taken over the world. It is your job to take it back from them. Reviews gave it a 8 on Gamespot.com, a 8 on Gameinformer.com & a 7.8 on IGN.com.

I've had alot of fun with this game. The graphics and story line are actually pretty great. You can play the game by using stealth, weapons blazing or a mixture of the two. The perk/skills upgrades are only unlocked by completing certain tasks. All the weapons from the pistols to the mounted cannons feel powerful and handle well. All the npcs you will be laying waste to come in various forms, from the average trooper to mechinized mutants of mayhem. This game captures the classic shooter feel yet feels stylized and fresh. It has exceeded my expectations and is easily one of my top games of recent years.

Wolfenstein the new order delivers the goods....with 5 different settings from being a beginning gamer to a hardcore gamer set it for your style...it's addictive from survival to exploring...the story is interesting and compelling in an alternate time line as if we lost the war....plenty of upgrades and guns to be found...worthy of repeated playthroughs by increasing the difficulty and trying to find all the hidden codes, letters, and gold....give it a go and you'll be hooked....

A Different Spin on an Old Classic!

The story in the game is excellent! Even though it is different from Wolfenstein 3D of the good ol' days, it brings me back to that time somehow. I like the mix of human enemies and mech/robot enemies! Keeps things interesting! I also like that you obtain more and more different weapons as you progress through the story - this works to keep the campaign fresh on every chapter. The game is non-linear, so you can explore and find collectables or rush throw guns blazing - whichever you choose. I wish there could have been a multiplayer component, however. That would have made the game more valuable to me. As currently priced ($60) it is a little expensive for only a single player campaign. I think it would have been perfectly priced at $40. Definitely check this game out at some point!

Honestly I am a little surprised how good this game is. I usually would have waited until a price drop for this kind of game, but Best buy offered a $20 gift card and code for the Doom beta if you pre ordered this game. Tie that in with being a gamers club member, meaning another 20% off, I figured it was a no brainer for the price. It's not a super long game, but it's on pace with other first person shooter campaigns. There is no multiplayer, so that being said the replay value isn't huge, but there are some decent achievements/trophies you can grind out after you complete the game. There are many weapons to use, some vehicles to drive, and lotsa bad guys/gals to kill!! It is well written, funny, has great characters, and has a few amazing cut scenes. There is also a little Easter egg where you can play the first level of the original Wolfenstein for the older gamers! All being said, it's a great ride, and since there isn't much else out these days it's worth the price tag.

Wolfenstein (the original PC game) was one of my favorite games back in the day and I wasted hours playing it, killing the bad elements and trolling the mazes of the castle. Given the last Wolfenstein outing, I had mixed hopes for this game. However, my concerns were misplaced. This game not only puts the bad memories of the past behind, but again elevates Wolfenstein to one of the best series of good gameplay. The story is good, the graphics are awesome, and the number of collectibles, replayability and difficulty levels certainly met and exceeded my hopes. Great game and if you're a fan of the old PC Wolfenstein, you will certainly will not be disappointed with the further 'alternate timeline' exploits of the esteemed soldier protagonist, "B.J." Blazkowicz.

This is a very underrated shooter. The game has a good length. Graphics are good (nothing memorable but not bad at all). The story is surprisingly good (if you have played previous Wolfenstein games you'd know what to expect) but the new order offers enough innovations in story line and twists to have you engaged. I truly enjoyed the gameplay in this game. The guns feel and sound meaty, and if you play with a good surround system you will really appreciate the sound design of the game. If you are on the fence about getting the game, I'll definitely advise you to get it.

The New Order is a great game, it proves taking out the Swastika wearer's is still a satisfying feeling. The story is extremely good with probably the best voice casting I've seen to date. Has a throwback to the original Wolfenstein hidden in the game which is pretty nostalgic. Overall if your not into the Online Multiplayer world of gaming then this game fits the bill for multiple play throughs. With plenty of collectibles and extra game modes to unlock you can go about completing the game however you want. Being able to dual wield any gun in the game makes choosing the Mayhem tactic a little more appealing at times ahaha.

This is an excellent game for the gamer who enjoys a solely single player experience, like myself. I grow tired of the similar multiplayer modes tacked on to games (especially those that should remain SP - I'm looking at you, Tomb Raider) and this game was a refreshing change. It's a great FPS with a good story, fluid controls, and a feeling of immersion. If you want to jump in a lobby with your friends and beat down other virtual but real people, this is not the game for you. If you want to turn off your lights, feel immersed inside a virtual world, and have genuine fun, then by all means buy this game.

The best single-player driven story campaign FPS game in YEARS! Set in an alternate reality WW2 where the enemy has advanced technology and are winning the war, you play as a Polish-American Soldier trying to turn the tide however you can. Some old throwback gameplay mechanics, a great narrative, great looking game, amazing soundtrack and runs smooth as butter. The game is linear, but with no restrictions on how to beat it. Multiple paths to take, rambo your way through or stealth. No failure states (never forced to play in a certain way, or do a certain objective)

This is one of the best story games I have played in a long time. The game is short itself but has 2 separate time lines so that you can go back and play again and have a different supporting character with different dialog. You also get either health or armor upgrades depending on who you pick. The skills are great and fun to get, some are harder than others but once you find an area to do it in then you can get them pretty quick. This game does great by itself but some co-op or multiplayer would be fun.

This game hearkens back to the great first person shooters, before multiplayer modes were all that people played. No multi here, just an awesome, fun single player shooter. The graphics are obviously way better than any previous Wolfenstein game. The story is fantastical, with a "what if" revision of history. The gameplay is engaging and varied. It doesn't rely on gimmicks like a lot of newer games. The controls are smooth. Unless you only play multiplayer shooters, this is a must have game.

If you grew up playing the first Wolfenstein or really love the classic and hectic feel of old school FPS titles, do not miss this. The game is fast, frantic, and gory. You can dualwield almost any weapon and the pace never slows down. Not to mention the story, characters, and soundtrack are all incredibly enjoyable. The market is pretty dry right now for new releases, but make sure to give this one a shot.

I liked the game and had fun playing it but with no multiplayer when you beat it there really isn't anything to make you want to keep playing. I have no desire to play the same game over and over with a few "extras" thrown in. BUT it was still a wicked good game the graphics are good and story was entertaining too I just wish it had multiplayer because it only took me 2 weeks to beat.

When I saw this game pop up on so many "Best Of' lists around the end of the year, I knew I had to try it. It did not disappoint and indeed exceeded my expectations. It is one of the most polished and complete feeling releases I've played in years. Great fun. Surprisingly well written, and quite replay-able. Must own.

This is a good shooter, much better than the last wolfenstein. The story is very good and the acting is good as well. Some of the AI is glitch but the story makes up for it. I wish you healed like most shooters and didn't have to go looking for health all the time. If you like shooters, this is a must buy.

A smooth shooter with great graphics and cool weapons to tear apart your enemies with. Too bad that so far there's no plans to release a multiplayer or co-op mode add-on for this game. Still worth playing though.

Wolfenstein is a return to old school shooters, massive weapon load outs, armor and health pick ups, and hip fire greatness. Now there is no multiplayer however that being said, it really makes the single player shine since all the resources at the developers disposal was used to make a great single player experience. The Story is fantastic and the fact that there is a major story branch in the early game making replay value skyrocket is truly a great thing. I like to value my entertainment as in how many hours per dollar do i get, for instance movie theaters are 8-16 dollars for 2 hours, not a great value. Wolfenstein is at least 20 hours of game play and the story arch in the beginning could double that so replay value ups that as well, so for $60 much better value. Normally a Single player FPS with no multiplayer is a wait to get it cheaper later type of game for me but Wolfenstein is fantastic from start to finish and well worth full admission price.

The game has been fun to play and tells a great story. The perk system challenges the player to try different approaches to gameplay. There is no multiplayer which isn’t an issue for me. For those that have a connection to Wolfensteins of the past, this is a must have.

This game is good, and has some hidden levels that take you back to the original game series. interesting story line and the game is very challenging on the higher difficulty levels. The only problem seems to be the aiming is not always accurate.
