Installation of a new downdraft slide in range

This is for a new 30" KitchenAid Dual Fuel Downdraft Slide-In Range. The thing to keep in mind is to make sure that the crew who is delivering and installing your new downdraft knows that they are installing a downdraft. We had our appliance scheduled for delivery two previous times and both of those times the delivery people did not know that they were supposed to install a downdraft and said they did not have the expertise to do that. We basically wasted two Saturdays getting ready for the range install and then ending up not having the range installed. Was very frustrating.
But then, the 3rd time was the charm, after many heated conversations with Best Buy Customer Service we finally were able to talk to the right person and they got us scheduled with the proper downdraft install crew. Adrian and his crewmember from M.J. Logistics knew what to do. They removed the exiting range and were able to determine that the 240V electrical plug-in location would work, the gasline stub out position would also work, and most importantly, that the existing downdraft venting location through the floor would also work with the new blower. The one snag was that the downdraft venting is all set up for 5" dia. ducting to go from the blower to to the downdraft vent location. 5" dia. flex-duct is not a standard size and Adrian didn't have any on his truck and when he made a run to the local Home Depot he found they didn't have any there either; so we had to postpone finalizing the installation until we could obtain the 5" duct material. However, Adrian did get the range installed so that we could at least use the range (not the oven) until the downdraft blower was operational. It took a couple of days to get the duct material and Adrian came back to finish the installation the day after we received the correct size flex-duct. He got the blower hooked up and everything operational within a couple of hours. Overall, Adrian and his crewmate were not deterred by the challenges involved with this installation and did an excellent job. And on top of that, Adrian was very professional and pleasant to work with. We are very happy with our new operational downdraft range, included is a photo of the installed appliance.

The installer wired the downdraft wires incorrectly - crossed wires. Our down draft fan shorted out and is now left inoperable

There was no installation. The downdraft fan was not installed. The two delivery people only plugged it in and set it in place. Nothing else!!
I had to hire my own contractor to assist in setting up the downward draft stove. I was willing to pay Best Buy to custom install but their customer service was so bad. I didn't hear back within 72 hours so I did the install myself.

The range has many defects including the top cooking surface. It had permanent marks after using it once. We've tried to clean it but it doesn't work. What makes the matter worse is the incompetence demonstrated by Best Buy and their lack of service in addressing this issue. Item originally purchased and delivered 3 months later. Now I'm waiting on another replacement that won't be delivered until October of 2023.

Terrible Installation Experience

What a disaster. Purchased and paid for a downdraft Kitchen Aid Electric Stove slide in unit back in September ($3200). Promised to deliver and install then delayed Oct 9, Nov 10, Dec 9, Jan 10th and finally delivered on Feb 3rd and took away the old stove, Supposed to install on Feb 7th, missed. Reschedule for the 8th, no show. Happened 3 more times. Was told had use a Best Buy 3rd party to install...$350...not free installation since it was a downdraft unit. Was never told this before. Showed up on Feb 19th, said they can't do as needed a different vent location from the former Jenn-Air downdraft unit. They were incompetent, and it was a waste of time. So disappointing and frustrating!!! Been without a stove since Feb 3rd. I found someone to install on my own...Best Buy would not recommend anyone. Finally going to have installed on March 8th, at my cost!!! I suggest never buy anything from Best Buy that is more complicated then just "plug in" for installation. What a terrible experience we have had to endure...and it is still going on. Bad communication and no coordination.

The installation was done on time. The only problem was that the electrical connection wasn't quite right and they won't do anything to assist. They put it in place, plugged it in and left. I had to call an electrician to complete the installation. Even the guys that did the site survey the previous week didn't catch the problem. Basically, the site survey is worthless.

DownDraft Important, Needs Countertop Flange

Great choice for a slide in range in an island, as built in down draft eliminates the need for an overhead vent. Older model had a flange around the top to fit over the countertop cut out for a seamless fit, however that flange is no longer on the newer models, so the overall look is less built in than before.

the guys who came out to do the install were great. the guys who cut the counter did it wrong and can't return to correct it in a timely fashion. the range that was delivered is defective and needs to be exchanged, and apparently won't arrive for another six weeks. so now I have a dead range sitting in the middle of my kitchen that apparently won't be removed until the new one arrives, and no way to cook for my family. it's a nightmare.

The saga of my oven range has been going on for four months. I purchased a Kenmore Electric Down Draft oven range in November 2019. Delivery was free, but I was charged $349.99 for installation. The new oven range was replacing an exisiting electric down draft range in the same location. The installers were not able to complete the installation on the day of delivery. The installer told me to call an electrician to change the outlet to fit the new range and then to call him directly to reschedule. When I called to reschedule, he informed me that he would charge an additional $400 to complete the job. This would bring my total installation charges to $795 (not including the electrician)! I called Best Buy's installation services and they suggested that they credit me the $349.99 and that I hire my own independent installer. I agreed that this would be acceptable. For some reason, they were not able to process the credit via phone and instructed me to visit the store where I purchased the range. Instead of issuing a credit, that store credited my account and then created a new installation charge. In the meantime, I had hired another service to install the range. A few months have gone by and I'm STILL waiting for my $349.99 credit from Best Buy! This is ridiculous, Best Buy.

Not very pleased with the contractors that best buy uses for the installation of our new 48" gas range. Contractors arrived with a pickup truck that did not contain a lift gate. It was fortunate that the stove was not damaged during unloading. I chose to complete the remainder of the install.

Getting this Jenn Air downdraft range installed has taken months and visits from 5 different technicians 4 of whom had no idea what they were doing. I would not recommend them for this particular issue. I paid Best Buy for a complex installation and now I am being charged again by the installation company that Best Buy sent. This was a totally unsatisfactory purchase/installation. I am a total tech member which I thought gave me expert technical assistance but that has not been the case. I have spent countless hours over 4 months talking to my dedicated conciet service and it has taken a toll on me. I anm not sure that the installation is correct even now. I expected better.

JennAir Downdraft Install

A2Z were great! We knew the installation would not be typical as we were replacing a 35 year old JennAir downdraft range. At the initial install date, they accessed what needed to be done and was upfront of extra costs and risks up cutting into an old countertop. We were prepared for all of this as we knew replacing something 35 years old would need extra work. A2Z were back the following business day and made sure we were satisfied. My husband was present for installation and commented how nice the installers were and knowledgeable.
The only frustration I encountered was the automated texts that I received from Best Buy. Within a matter of 30 minutes, I received three different texts. One confirming my reinstallation date, one text to reschedule my installation date, then finally another confirming my installation date again. I would recommend getting the installation company's personal telephone number to confirm we I did directly to ensure the day.

The installers came out 3 times. The first delivery had to go back for damage. The second delivery I had to wait 2 more months and when they got there the appoint was scheduled but they did not have the range with them. Two weeks later they come with the range to install it but said we need a electrician to install a a 4 prong outlet. Did that and the 3 rd time they said we needed an HVAC guy to install a new down draft since my old one was 34 yrs old and they changed the style. Why did they not look ove the old unit the first time and tell me what they needed all a once to install it? I paid a lot of money for the Jen Air down draft and got very poor service. I had to pay an additional $400 to have the modifications done and was still charged an installation fee to Best Buy and they did not install it.

This was one of the worst experiences of my life. It just started a domino effect of bad things happening to my home. I hate my oven. I am extremely unhappy with it. The person came and measured incorrectly, the installers ruined my kitchen and living area with toxic debris and I spent lots of money having things cleaned. My cpuntertop is still ruined and cut up and I do not have the money to replace it. Oven sticks out of opening and it does not work well. The stove top burns all my food. I am now suffering from depression disorder that began soon after install. I cant cook well on it and it is uneven. Oil goes to one side of pan. Flames to high it will not simmer. I am miserable.
