When i bought this mouse, it was originally because I was just transitioning from console gaming over to PC gaming and needed an entirely new mouse. It feels extremely comfortable in my hands as I am right-handed and the two additional mouse buttons on the side allow for quick accessibility in games for whatever you program them to be used for. The scroll wheel is also customizable as it lets you change the actual resistance of the scrolling with just the simple switch located on the underside of the mouse. The left and right click are extremely snappy and not mushy at all. They feel really responsive. An added bonus is that this mouse comes with RGB included and can be completely configured through the Razer Synapse software with several profiles available! Overall, no complaints about this mouse what so ever. It was amazing!

So this mouse is great for FPS. It has two side buttons plus the DPI clutch, however, the DPI clutch can be mapped to any function, just like the other two side keys, so its like having 3 side buttons if you're not into the idea of the clutch. The adjustable tension on the scroll wheel is a really neat feature, and the DPI up and down buttons are really nice. My old cheapo mouse only cycled between 3 dpi settings, but this mouse can have up to 5 custom DPIs set, and you can switch between them using the up and down buttons. The max DPI is insanely high and I would never dream of using the mouse that sensitive, but its nice to know I have that option if I ever want to do 720 no scopes with a single mouse swipe.

I'm not a hardcore PC gamer but I'm definitely becoming more and more, and this mouse feels awesome to my hand. Couple lights nothing crazy, decent weight to it, but not to much. Has 2 extra side buttons which I usually map to Crouch and Reload. You can change the drag on the wheel, which I love when using it to cycle through weapons/equipment on various games, helps to not accidentally skip over your secondary. Razer software can be used to change the lights and effects like to blink a different color when you press a button. Overall an awesome mouse, literally helped my gameplay improve.

Great looking RGB, very comfortable, and the buttons on the side are good if you want a couple but not a million buttons. The scroll wheel resistance is an added bonus. Would recommend

This mouse feels very good on your hand. It’s grip is very nice, and I like that you can change the paddles and how much friction the scroll wheel has. I love that it has RGB. It’s an extremely good mouse for the price.

I used to own a madcatz mouse and they went out of business. Great product with bad marketing. Replaced it with the Razer Basilisk and it has been a great replacement. Good software, high dpi, and cosmetically appealing. Would recommend!!

As with any peripheral from the big manufactures lately (Razer, Corsair, Logitech, etc), the quality is amazing. My wife didn't really care for the idea of a new mouse, but after getting her this one, she doesn't want to ever go back to a standard mouse.
She loves the adjustable scroll wheel and DPI, as well as the fact that it's wired and comfortable for her grip style. The extra map-able buttons are awesome too for what's she's using it for, so that's an added bonus. Perhaps the only downside is that like many of the other big manufacturer's, Razer requires the download of their software to handle the lighting effects. While it doesn't appear that Razer's software is as bloaty as Corsair's equivalent at least, it's still frustrating.
Good mouse, but I wish it didn't require the software. Then again, I don't know how it would work without it, so I guess I can't complain too much.

As someone who likes controllers and mouses to fit in my hand, I have to say the Basilisk is great. It nice contours with a hand and doesn't feel uncomfortable plus with the added ability to adjust the sensitivity it makes using this mouse so much better. I still am looking for the right sensitivity but with the options and the on the fly adjuster I have nothing bad to say about this mouse. The one thing I would say is that I believe if you find it on a sale get it if not then I'd say wait.

Very solid feeling mouse, adjustable DPI and tension in the scroll wheel is easily adjusted. I've bought several of these and had no problems with any of them. The cord is cloth covered and very flexible and never gets in my way. The clutch is useful for shooter games. I have two for work, two for home and have started ordering them as replacements for our Autocad stations. The thumb rest on the side is really nice feature as well.

At first, I thought this was overkill. The product is expensive, but it really made my day-to-day work on my laptop so much easier. I use this for work, not gaming. The design is strong. I don't have pain in my wrists or joints and the scroll wheel and clicking section of the mouse never stick. I like the rotating colors. Definitely adds personality to my work space.

Like the title says, I absolutely adore this mouse! I used to use the Razer Lancehead TE pretty religiously because I thought that it was without-a-doubt the best mouse Razer made, but then it broke just when they had decided to stop carrying it at Best Buy (and only the super expensive Lancehead Wireless was left, but that version is just terrible; trust me, if you're thinking about getting that one...don't).
This mouse, however, proved me wrong 100%! For starters, it's ergonomically shaped and it's a smaller sized mouse which fits much better in my hand. The Lancehead was pretty small too, but this one is just a little bit of a better shape for it to sit comfortably in my hand.
Not to mention on top of that the chroma is b-e-a-U-tiful! While it's just at the logo and the (adjustable!!) scrollwheel, it looks awesome!

I’ve been using this for a couple of months and it was perfect; no flaws were detected and I would play rts mainly for right clicks and the right click just gave up on me but I never abused it and the right side of the mouse completely wasn’t clickable anymore. Razer needs to fix this.

The Basilisk is a wonderful mouse in form functionality, comfort, and performance. The adjustable resistance on the wheel and the customizable DPI allow you to switch from one project/game to another with ease. This coupled with the ability to preset multiple profile settings and utilize a clutch when needed makes this mouse a wonderful overall addition to any setup!

I use the mouse more for everyday functions more so than gaming and it is great. I am on the computer hours a day and my hand is much less fatigued with this mouse when the day wraps up. The sensitivity and response are great.
The cost is really not a consideration given the manner in which this mouse has improved my work day.

Great mouse, can't get over how comfortable it feels in my hands. Has the usual 2 side buttons and an interesting lever that will lower your DPI sens, I can see this being used for precise aiming. Razer chroma looks great as usual.kve the mercury white finish. All around happy with my purchase

I think that buying a gaming mouse ultimately comes down to personal preferences concerning weight and ergonomics. That being said, this mouse has a few things that make it stand out.
The build quality is excellent, typical for Razer products. It’s also pretty basic in design, without a bunch of superfluous trim, excessive led lighting, etc. Buttons are kept to a minimum; just the sensitivity stage up/down, mouse 4 and 5, and a dpi clutch. A profile swap button and mouse wheel resistance adjustment is moved to the bottom to reduce clutter on top. If you are into a clean look, this mouse is it. If you are looking for weights, lots of buttons for macros or on the fly customization, or adjustable ergos, this is not for you.
The Basilisk also performs well, in case you care about something other than how it looks. The constant and unbearable tracking issues with Razer’s IR sensor was ultimately what pushed me to get a new mouse, and the Basilisk’s optical sensor has no issues. This is critical for me, because the less I have to deal with Razer’s Synapse software, the better. Did I mention the software is terrible? Because it objectively is. Hopefully Synapse 3 will be better when it’s out of beta.

I purchased this product as a secondary gaming mouse for my gaming laptop. I got tired of unplugging the mouse from my gaming desktop. My main mouse is a Razer Mamba TE.
I have small hands and that makes buying mice more complicated for me. This mouse is mostly suitable for someone with small hands. I have better access to the 2 side buttons on this mouse than I do with the mamba. However, I still do have to strain to get to the clutch button on this mouse. It is doable but I have to slightly re position my grip. This is not ideal for fast paced shooters but it is not a deal breaker.
Another thing to note is that this mouse does have razer chroma rgb on the logo and scroll wheel. When you are playing you only see the scroll wheel lights....if you are someone who stares at their mouse and plays. The point that I am really making is that there are other mice that have more RBG on them so if you are going for a more flashy look try the mamba te or others.
the adjustable scroll wheel is a very nice touch. You can go from smooth to super bumpy and everything in between.
One minor gripe is that it seems that the chord in mounted very low on the mouse. since it is braided it is a little stiff and that makes it drag on the mouse pad. You can hear and feel this. Not a deal breaker but something to note. If you are someone who uses a chord riser for their mouse you probably wont run into this.
In summery, very good gaming mouse, fits small hands, not as flashy as some.

Debating between this or the g502

I have owned the logitech g502 prior to purchasing the Razer Basilisk. The biggest difference for me was the size. If you are someone with larger hands, or like something more to hold, the basilisk might fit your hand a little better, which is my reasoning for switching over.
They both have 3 side buttons, one being a sniper button, but can be assigned macros for other purposes. I give the advantage to this to the Razer Basilisk, as it gives you 3 different sizes of sniper buttons to use, fitting almost every style of grip. Overall great mouse.
