    Incredible Device - Highly Recommend

This device changed my life! I have been so stuck in screens for so long and this gives me an opportunity for more thoughtful work. I feel like it is the perfect device for any form of writing, diagramming or drawing. Clearly it is a Premium device with a premium price, but I didn't feel it fell short in any area. My 9 year old ended up co-opting it from me so much that I was forced to give her mine and buy a new one! I recommend this more than any other single device I can recall purchasing that was technology related. I right with it every day.

A Great Device for the Right Person

LOOK AND FEEL: LOOKS: 5 out of 5 FEEL: 4.5 out of 5 The reMarkable 2 is a great device that has a very premium feel. The screen is a slightly scratchy surface to give your stylus that resistance to feel more like pen/pencil and paper. To me it still does not get the pen and paper feel down perfectly, but it is a lot better than writing on glass. Set up was very easy and the UI is intuitive and easy to navigate for the most part. The device feels weightier than it looks, but it's a good weight in the hand that is spread out well across the device. The stylus that came with the device also felt premium. It was light in the hand, but with enough weight to feel like a good solid pen. USE OF THE DEVICE: VALUE: 3 out 5 USEABILITY: 3.5 out 5 The reason I rated this device only 4 stars is because for me I found the "distraction free" part to be too much. Not being able to open a kindle book on this device and take notes from it was a bit of a let down. Pretty much straight note taking, PDFs, and ePub books are all you can really do. No third party applications can be installed. If you are looking for that level of limitation to help you focus then this is the perfect device for you. However, I wanted this as a study, note taking, and reading device on which I could also check my email if I needed to, or look up something to do with my subject of study on the web. The options are limited with the reading and study aspects of the reMarkable device. The lack of a some sort of light was also a little disappointing. There were definitely times I wished it had a front light on the device itself to better view the screen. Otherwise you needed an external source of light just as you would with pen and paper. All this to me made the price point for this device high for what is available to you. REMARKABLE APPS: EASE OF USE: 4.5 out of 5 I will say the remarkable apps you can use to interface between devices was very well thought out and designed. Making it easy to quickly transfer PDFs or ePub books from my computer to the device. SUMMARY: The writing experience on the reMarkable is a pleasant one. It definitely feels better than writing on other tablets I have tried before. Overall my experience with reMarkable was...well not reMarkable, but it was good. Not great, but good. I would still recommend this device to anyone who really wants that "disctraction fee" aspect of the device. For that, it works very well, while also giving you a premium experience. However, that premium "distraction free" experience does come with a premium price.

The Perfect Digital Notebook for Focus and Product

I absolutely love my reMarkable 2. It feels just like writing on paper — super smooth and responsive with zero lag. The Marker Plus is incredibly accurate and comfortable to use, and the eraser on the back makes it feel natural, like using a real pencil. The Polymer Weave Book Folio adds a premium touch and keeps everything protected while still looking professional. I use it daily for taking notes in meetings, journaling, and organizing ideas — and it’s completely replaced my paper notebooks. What I appreciate most is how distraction-free it is. No apps, no notifications — just pure focus. Syncing notes to the cloud and converting handwriting to text works great, and it’s seamless to access everything from my laptop or phone. If you’re someone who loves the feel of writing by hand but wants the convenience of digital organization, the reMarkable 2 is worth every penny.

This tablet has been an excellent replacement for my collection of paper notebooks. Writing on it really does feel like writing in a notebook. The charge lasts for quite a while, and the user interface is easy to navigate. I'm happy with it.

The remarkable is very useful. There are numerous online sources of information to help you learn how to use it effectively. For work and studying, it is handy to avoid distractions. It organizes your thoughts and plans. I deducted one star for value, as it may be slightly overpriced for what the hardware side of the system. It is still worth it for the quality, ease of use, and clean design.

I contemplated multiple devices of note taking and settled on the ReMarkable 2 for several reasons. It is focused device that does it's job well. The writing experience is about as close to pen and paper as you will get. It's simple, yet useful integration to PC/Mac environments makes sharing documents a breeze. I really like the fact that it does not have all the apps, email as other devices, because you won't get distracted. My only fault is that it is not backlit, but that would take away from the writing experience

    remarkable 2: A Game-Changer for Paper Lovers

I have been using remarkable 2 for a few weeks now and I am very impressed by it. It is a tablet that is designed to replace paper notebooks and provide a natural writing and reading experience. It has a 10.3-inch monochrome display that is very crisp and clear, and a slim and elegant design that is easy to carry around. But what I love the most is the feel of writing on it. It feels like writing on real paper, thanks to the textured surface and the friction tip of the Marker Plus pen. There is no latency or lag, and the pen has a built-in eraser that works flawlessly. I can also convert my handwriting to typed text, organize my notes in folders and tags, and sync them with other devices. The remarkable 2 is not a typical tablet that can run apps, play games, or watch videos. It is a device that is focused on note-taking, sketching, and reading. It has no distractions, no notifications, and no ads. It is perfect for people who want to reduce their paper consumption and enjoy a digital paper feel. Compared to other tablets, the remarkable 2 is more expensive and less versatile, but it is also more unique and satisfying. It is the best tablet for writers, artists, students, and anyone who loves paper. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a paper tablet.

My good friend who is a doctor has been trying to talk me into getting one of these for my private practice taking my notes as a therapist. I finally did get one a couple of weeks ago, and I am kicking myself for not doing it when he first showed it to me. My practice became more organized overnight, and I have only scratched the surface of what this thing can do. Highly recommend it for any writer, student, or anyone who wants to keep track of their thoughts in a more organized way.

I use this every day. Extremely easy. So many different things you can accomplish with it. I wish I were a college student again! This would have simplified my life. Anyone who writes or draws needs this. In my profession, I need to take notes. I can choose from a multitude of templates to utilize. I can convert my handwritten notes into type-written, and then export or import as needed. Just watch a few YouTube videos regarding this tablet. It is truly amazing. No more paper and pen, pencil, marker, etc.

    A Potentially reMarkable Tablet

The product itself has so much potential but I feel like I was 5 years too early to the game. I love the idea of being an early adopter but reMarkable's business model doesn't want to reward me for that leap of faith. The tablet is beautifully designed and is an eye turner when you open it during a meeting. However, it's just not fast enough or user friendly enough to replace some of the other products out there. The price is way too high for what you get out of the box, especially when you need a subscription to get the most out of it. I've been able to replicate the same experience by purchasing an ipad, apple pencil, paperlike screen protector, and deleted all apps not related to productivity. reMarkable 2, I appreciated our time together. I just dont think I can love or appreciate you the way you deserve to be loved. This isn't a definite goodbye. I might see you from time to time in business meetings and I promise not to stare and make it awkward. Maybe we'll run into each other at the Best Buy in a couple years and we can grab some coffee and catch up.

I love this thing. I am an IT Director and work with tech constantly, but I have always preferred manually taking notes in a notebook to typing them. This thing has been a game changer. I really fells like writing on paper with a pen. I have an iPad with an Apple Pencil and it feels like dragging plastic on glass as you write as you would expect, but not this guy. You can also draw on the unit quite easily if need be and they have tons of templates preloaded for almost any kind of project for any field of work. I even saw storyboard sheets for artists. This is one of the most useful tools in my arsenal for meetings.

I was reluctant at first but realized I low key love it. Positive is its lightweight, awesome battery life and keeps me organized. It is distraction free as it does one thing and that is to take notes or journal. The only con ao far is that i wish i could have multiple page types within a notebook. Otherwise its great and am a fan!

Great writing feel. Significantly better than paperlike on an iPad. Loses a star because I don’t think the built in templates are great and the ability to edit/manage native templates is a glaring weakness. Responsiveness and general usability is very good. Battery life is good.

I found the reMarkable 2 to be a very convenient tool if you were keeping it simple with regular .pdf files for taking notes. It synced up well with Google Drive and the reMarkable desktop app. The e-ink, matte display is useful as you do not need to worry about screen glare when taking notes in class or constantly charging the device. It falls short when you want to use it for PowerPoint and Word documents. In order to view and write on these files, you need to have access to a computer, install a reMarkable add-on for PowerPoint and Word, and then upload the related files using PowerPoint and Word to migrate them over to a reMarkable readable format. So it can be a real hassle for schoolwork at times, compared to a regular Android tablet or iPad that would be able to download the Word or PowerPoint file from Canvas and open the file directly. This leads to another issue with the reMarkable having a watered-down version of Android, with no access to the Play Store. For some users, this may not be an issue, but for me personally, my school WiFi and work WiFi require an app to allow access to the network by signing in with my school ID or work ID, which the reMarkable is incapable of doing. I'm forced to use my phone hotspot to allow me to sync files while at school because of this. It can be pretty difficult to justify the MSRP price tag when these are possible issues for a user. Especially since you're in range of an iPad or Samsung Tab. If you plan on keeping it simple though with regular PDFs, the reMarkable is a perfect device. I think for a lot of students however, it might be too much of a hassle and that an iPad or Android tablet with a matte, paperlike screen protector would be more convenient and feature-packed. I believe the reMarkable team justifying the lack of the app store as a "feature for having fewer distractions" is a lazy reason and something that should be up to the user to avoid rather than stripping it entirely, especially with the price point.

Costly but Worth It for Its Intended Purpose

This is an honest review from someone who purchased the Remarkable tablet and has been using it extensively, nearly every day, for the past two weeks. The Remarkable tablet is specifically designed for writing and note-taking. I bought it to take notes and have them electronically accessible in an app, where I can convert them to PDFs, documents, or print them. If note-taking and document organization are your primary needs, this is the best choice. I’ve organized folders for work and school, and I can also upload PDFs from both, which is incredibly useful. I debated between the Remarkable, iPad, and Kindle Scribe, given their similar costs. However, I don’t use Amazon services like Audible or Kindle for reading, as I prefer Libby or Spotify for audiobooks, or I just buy physical books. This preference led me to rule out the Kindle Scribe, despite its lower cost. Ultimately, the Remarkable was perfect for my needs, offering a distraction-free environment for note-taking and document management. While the Kindle Scribe also mimics writing on paper, the Remarkable provided exactly what I was looking for without any extra features I didn’t need. The iPad didn’t give me that authentic paper feel, making the Remarkable a better fit for me. I love the Remarkable and carry it with me everywhere along with my laptop. It allows me to take notes, access them via the app, and make changes easily. While I’m sure a future version of the Remarkable might include color, I’m perfectly happy with this model. It’s all about preference, and this tablet is exactly what I wanted.

I’ve been using the reMarkable tablet for both work and personal planning, and it’s quickly become an essential tool in my daily routine. At work, it’s perfect for organized note-taking during meetings—I can easily keep my thoughts structured and searchable without the clutter of paper. On the personal side, it’s been incredibly helpful in planning my wedding. The ability to create notebooks, to-do lists, and sketch out ideas all in one place has kept everything streamlined and stress-free. If you’re looking for a digital alternative to paper that’s practical and focused, I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed the writing experience the Remarkable 2 offers. If writing is your main focus, this is a great tool. However, For an academic researcher, I needed a bit more flexibility for annotating documents and creating digest. I will say that the product is well designed and the quality is the best of the e-ink tablets that I have tried.
