      Hello RC4u,

Here at Ring, we understand how critical it is for your Ring Chime Pro to work as intended. It's a key component to ensure all connected Ring devices have a strong signal, along with providing an internal audio effect through your home. We are here to lend some assistance.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Chime Pro extending your wifi signal. When this happens, we recommend moving your Chime Pro. The ideal placement for your Chime Pro is about halfway between your wifi router and the device it’s connected to.

Wifi extenders work best with devices that won’t be moved, and ideally, the maximum distance between the router and the device should be under 30 feet. If the distance is greater than 30 feet, you might need a different solution to a weak wifi signal, like a mesh network instead of a wifi extender. A wifi router creates a single access point that broadcasts a signal. The further the signal has to go, the weaker the signal gets.

      Hello Smile,

We understand how important it is for the Chime Pro to extend the wifi to your Ring devices, as it is designed to do. With proper placement and being connected to the Chime Pro Network, you should notice a significant difference in your Ring device's performance. Our team is here to ensure that is the case.

To start, placement of your Chime Pro is key. Once the unit is set up, move your Chime Pro halfway between the router and the Ring device. Some things that can cause interference include (but are not limited to):

      * Materials such as stucco, brick, or concrete.
      * House appliances such as microwaves.
      * Electronic devices such as televisions, game systems, or wifi enabled devices.

On our website at Ring.com, we offer a helpful placement test article in our Help Center, that helps you discover the best positioning for your home: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052520292-Using-Chime-Pro-Placement-Test-to-optimize-your-wifi.

      Hello MikeS,

We know how important it is to know when activity is detected by your Ring doorbell. The Ring Chime Pro is intended to link to your Ring doorbells and cameras to amplify Ring alerts. So long as the devices are properly linked, you can expect a tone to play when motion is detected or when doorbells are pressed.

It is possible that a settings change unlinked the doorbell. Can you please open the Ring app and follow the steps in the article below? It will show you how to ensure your Ring devices are properly linked to your Ring Chime Pro.

      https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034840052-How-to-Link-your-Ring-Devices-to-a-Chime-or-Chime-Pro

If your device is properly linked to your doorbell, please try relocating the Chime Pro to a different wall outlet. Oftentimes, nearby interference or a weak wifi connection can cause delays between events.

Should all else fail, please reboot your router. This allows all the wifi devices in the house to refresh their internet connection, which can reduce delays and speed up notification deliveries.

We would love to hear more about solutions you've tried, and if our tips helped resolve your connection and notification concerns. Please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ for additional support.

      Hi Lynda.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is for your Ring Chime Pro to function consistently and reliably, so you are alerted to any wanted or unwanted activity in or around your home. Being able to rely on the alerts to know when there is activity at your home is an essential feature of the Ring Chime Pro. We can definitely provide you with more information on the concerns mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not operating as expected. The Ring Chime Pro (2nd Generation) is the updated version of the Ring Chime Pro (1st Generation) wifi extender. It features a new design, built-in nightlight, dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi connectivity, and guided feedback during setup that helps you find the best location for your Ring Chime Pro. In addition to being a wifi extender for Ring devices, the Ring Chime Pro also provides audio alerts for you Ring devices.

There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal battery-life performance. The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using "Live View" can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.

To prevent excessive activity, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can:

Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity.
      Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones."
Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically.
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery.

To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app:

Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the dashboard.
      Tap "Devices."
Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check.
Tap "Power Settings" to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage."
Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency," and "Video Recording Length.".

Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
      Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
      Tap "Motion Settings."
      Tap "Smart Alerts."
      Tap "Enable Feature."
      Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."

      Hello Bambam,

Our top priority at Ring is to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience with our products. We really appreciate your feedback. Our team is always striving to improve our products and their performance.

It's easy to connect a new Ring device to a Chime Pro after you've set up the Chime Pro in the Ring app. If your new Ring Device has already been installed on your Ring app:

      Open the Ring app.
Tap the three lines on the top left.
      Tap Devices.
      Select your Chime Pro.
On the Chime Pro screen tap Chime Pro Network.
Tap the device you want to connect.
You can also Switch to Home WiF via this screen.
If you're setting up a new Ring device and you have a Chime Pro installed you'll be asked if you want to connect to the Chime Pro Network during the set up process. If you select yes, then follow the set up flow in the Ring app. You can always switch to your home wifi network at another time.

The Ring Chime Pro only works with Ring devices and works best with one device that stays in the same location. Ideally, the Chime Pro will be about halfway between the Ring device and your wifi router. The maximum length between your router and the device should be about 20 feet.

Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ so we can find a solution to best resolve this and ensure the device is functioning as it was intended.

      Thank you,
      Antonio from Ring Ring

      Hello Isreal54,

Thank you for leaving a review.

Hard to say if it helped my Ring device or if the cable company fixed it with updated splitter.

      Hello Curly,

We understand how important it is to experience a reliable connection to your home security devices. The Ring Chime Pro is intended to help better your connection to Ring doorbells and cameras. With proper placement and the Chime Pro Network, you should notice a significant difference. Our team is here to ensure that is the case.

Placement of your Chime Pro is key. For the initial setup of the Chime Pro, place it within a 20 feet radius of your router to ensure a successful setup. Once the unit is set up, move your Chime Pro halfway between the router and the Ring device.
If your Chime Pro has trouble re-connecting, then it might be due to interference. Some things that can cause interference include (but are not limited to):

      * Materials such as stucco, brick, or concrete.
      * House appliances such as microwaves.
      * Electronic devices such as televisions, game systems, or wifi enabled devices.

To ensure the best performance, please test a few different locations. You’ll find that one area provides the best performance.
