I live in Florida where almost every house is made with thick cinder block construction and rebar to keep the houses on the ground during the hurricane season. It weakens your wifi signal. So this wifi extender with a door chime not only extends the wifi, it let's you know when someone is outside your door, whether or not they push the chime button.

You definitely need a strong internet signal (which ours isn't the greatest) wherever you place this. Definitely buy one to go with your Ring Doorbell, especially if you have the internet signal.
