This replaced an older version that failed after many years of use. Reliable notifications and keeps connection to wifi. Really like the new sleeker design.

Good doorbell, especially when the Ring is not "hard wired". I really love that you can change the tones to be seasonal. Also, you can set different tones for the bell vs. movement.

I purchased this to replace the earlier version of the Chime Pro. The older model worked fine but was 2.4 GHz only. Then one day it just died. I decided to replace it since the wifi signal at the Ring Pro doorbell was only marginal. The new unit arrived and I set it up the same day. I first tried 5 GHz for its faster network speed but the RSSI was too low. This seemed odd since the AP was only about 15' feet away. I have no other problems with other devices connecting throughout the house, only this one. So I decided to just go with 2.4 GHz. Connected fine, good RSSI, but no live view. It would record the live view video but wouldn't play in the iphone app or the PC app. Did I mention the AP is only about 15' from the Chime and the Ring Pro is about 6' from the Chime?! I reset everything including the AP multiple times. I finally gave up and hooked up a spare AP closer to the Ring Pro doorbell bypassing the Chime and connecting directly to the home wifi. I can get live view to work now. The Chime Pro was supposed to improve the doorbell cam performance but actually made it worse. Something wrong here.
Hello HomeDepotCustomer, We understand how important it is to experience a reliable connection to your home security devices. The Ring Chime Pro is intended to help better your connection to Ring doorbells and cameras. With proper placement and the Chime Pro Network, you should notice a significant difference. Our team is here to ensure that is the case. Placement of your Chime Pro is key. For the initial setup of the Chime Pro, place it within a 20 feet radius of your router to ensure a successful setup. Once the unit is set up, move your Chime Pro halfway between the router and the Ring device. If your Chime Pro has trouble re-connecting, then it might be due to interference. Some things that can cause interference include (but are not limited to): * Materials such as stucco, brick, or concrete. * House appliances such as microwaves. * Electronic devices such as televisions, game systems, or wifi enabled devices. To ensure best performance, please test a few different locations. You’ll find that one area provides the best performance. If you have any further questions, please visit our community forum at https://community.ring.com/, for some additional tips and support. We look forward to hearing from you. -All the Best, Jamila at Ring

Not a real Wi-Fi range extender, will only extend Wi-Fi for ring products. The video doorbell pro 2 won’t connect to the chime pro either. Night light is cool
Thank you for leaving a review. Here at Ring, we understand how critical it is for your Ring Chime Pro to work as intended. It's a key component to ensure all connected Ring devices have a strong signal, along with providing an internal audio effect through your home. We are here to lend some assistance.
Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Chime Pro extending your wifi signal. When this happens, we recommend moving your Chime Pro. The ideal placement for your Chime Pro is about halfway between your wifi router and the device it’s connected to.
Wifi extenders work best with devices that won’t be moved, and ideally, the maximum distance between the router and the device should be under 30 feet. If the distance is greater than 30 feet, you might need a different solution to a weak wifi signal, like a mesh network instead of a wifi extender. A wifi router creates a single access point that broadcasts a signal. The further the signal has to go, the weaker the signal gets.
For any additional questions or concerns regarding your Ring Chime Pro, please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you, Jamila with Ring.

I had bought a Ring Spotlight camera for outside my garage, it kept telling me poor connection error message. So I bought the chime to boost my connection and voila! Problem solved!

My Ring Doorbell 2 got a little sketchy with the wifi signal. Once I added this, there was never an interruption on my doorbell. I highly recommend purchasing this when you get your doorbell.

My actual doorbell stopped working and I have the ring camera. This was a great addition to add the doorbell chime. I change it for the holidays as well.

This is an amazing product it helps with the wifi to get to my other ring products seamlessly. It might take some time to fully install but great overall.
