I've had the Cam Plus installed for 5 days now, and doorbells along with a base station around the home, so have had the opportunity to compare it side to side with Ring's latest and greatest. The quality of the camera is the best I've seen so far. While just about any cam can focus on objects half a dozen feet or so in front of it, the ring has excellent clarity and field of view both near and far. In particular I noticed how it reacts at motion. I also have dash cams in my vehicles; in both my home and my cars, when viewing a clip, when you freeze frame a shot you lose clarity. I'm including a shot below of an Amazon delivery driver tossing my package over my front gate. I was able to freeze the package in midair, and still be able to get a good image of the package. In another long shot of my front porch, the detail is clear both at the front and back of the porch. They really packed some performance in this camera. Setup was 1-2-3 quick. Snap a photo of the QR or bar code on the back of the camera, and you're in the app and connected to the web. I currently have my router in mixed mode, I've had devices that barked at the, and only wanted to connect to a dedicated 2.4Ghz line, but had no problem with the Ring. The app has a plethora of choices and settings as to how you want to interact with the device, and what you want to capture, be it all motion, a person, a pet; a package, and what your level of interaction is be it a text notification, image, or clip. The cam plus is mountable in a variety of configurations, there are mounting posts both on the bottom and back sides. Combined with a swivel and hinge mount, it doesn't matter if the location you want it is vertical or horizontal. If I had to nitpick the mount, it's pretty difficult to unsnap the folding portion from the base, I was quite concerned it would snap off in my hands, but it held. As I said, I currently have another security system installed, for the moment I'll be using the Ring as a mobile unit for multiple purposes. I've been placing it in a far corner of my yard that's out of my view, so I can see when the dogs are digging up my plants. I've also used it as a temporary baby cam when the grandkids are over. Given my experience so far, I could see myself migrating my total home security over to a Ring system. It works - well!

As a long-time fan of Ring cameras, I was excited to add the new Ring Outdoor Cam Plus (Battery version) to my growing collection—and let me tell you, it does not disappoint. This little camera is a fantastic addition to the arsenal, bringing with it everything I’ve come to expect from Ring and more. Setup is a breeze. Installation was super straightforward, and the intuitive Ring mobile app made configuring the camera effortless. One of the standout features for me is the customizable motion zones, which allow you to block out areas like neighboring yards or busy streets that would otherwise trigger constant alerts. It's a small but crucial feature that really enhances the usability of the camera. This model is smaller than the Stick-Up Cam Pro, which I actually prefer—its compact footprint makes it less obtrusive when mounted to the side of my house. Despite its smaller size, it delivers impressive clarity with 2K resolution (2560 x 1440). Whether it’s day or night, the footage is crystal clear. Ring has clearly made great strides in low-light and night-vision capabilities, making this one of the best low-light performers I’ve seen from the brand so far. I’ve only had it for about a week, so I can’t speak to the full battery life just yet, but I did charge it out of the box and haven’t had to recharge it since. I’m using it primarily to capture wildlife near the side of my house—not necessarily to monitor people (I hope, but I guess that’s also what it’s for!)—and it’s doing a fantastic job so far. Like all Ring devices, this camera comes packed with features I love: -Two-way talk -Live view -Real-time motion alerts -Weather resistance with an operating range of -4°F to 122°F If you're looking for an easy-to-install, versatile, and reliable security camera for either indoor or outdoor use, the Ring Outdoor Cam Plus (Battery) is a great option. It’s earned its place in my setup, and I’m now just one camera away from achieving my dream of a complete 360-degree Ring-powered view of my home. Highly recommend it!

Excellent 2k camera and video quality

To start, I have been mainly using Ring cams all around my house (wireless and wired) along side other brands for years now. I just love the ease of use, installation and app controls Ring offers and this new Outdoor Cam Plus is no exception. Included in the box is the Camera itself, rechargeable battery, power cord, mounting hardware and some paperwork to get you started. I installed the cam outside in my yard facing the house and let's me see over half the home and all major entrance points. One major gripe is why Ring refuses to join the current world and switch the batteries to a USB-C port instead of the slower ancient micro USB for charging. Other than that, everything else to me is perfect. Using the app to pair the cam with my account got it up and running in a minute. The included mounting hardware is perfectly fine to attach the cam to a post and face where you want to see. Also since it is outside, I decided to pair this with Ring's solar panel and connect it directly to the back via the USB-C port. The battery constantly charges itself daily back up to 100% so I can have the freedom of never having to worry to walk out there, unscrew the bottom and recharge the battery every so often. After having this cam for about a week, picture quality is excellent. Daytime viewing and recording is great and also can see all major spots clearly, even when zooming in. Nighttime is also great. I am not using nighttime color HDR and find turning that off actually makes the footage a little more clearer and more clear. It loves to catch all the cats and opossums that keep running around my home but the notifications do not bother me. I actually like the sensitivity as is. Also just a side note, we had 2 and a half days of heavy thunderstorms and even hail and the camera took on mother nature like a champ. Quality is superb and no damage was done even after being pelted by hail for about 20 minutes straight. A true outdoor cam.

    Another Slam-Dunk from Ring

Another great camera from Ring. This Cam Plus with Video and Ring Vision is replacing one of my Ring Spotlight Cameras that just failed after eight years of use. I've always been satisfied with the quality and value I've received from Ring, and the Outdoor Cam Plus is no exception. Almost everything about this camera is great. It has crisp video, accurate and customizable motion detection, and the app is incredibly easy to navigate-even for first-time users. Ring has also made major improvements to its low-light capabilities and the addition of Pre-Roll video previews. These are features you don’t realize you need until you’ve tried them - once you have them, you won’t want to go without. Pre-Roll is especially useful for capturing motion just before an event is triggered. Essentially, the camera is always recording and can include 10 - 15 seconds of footage leading up to an event. This feature alone has helped me settle plenty of backyard arguments between my kids when the finger-pointing begins. There’s only one thing I really didn’t like about this camera: the way the mounting arm connects to the base. The Cam Plus ships with the mounting arm already attached to the base, but if you want to wall-mount it, you have to remove it and reattach it to the back of the camera. When you remove the single screw, two small plastic washers fall out of the mounting arm. Re-inserting those washers while repositioning the mount was a huge pain. I honestly think this part of the design could be much more user-friendly - especially considering that the washers need to be perfectly aligned for the screw to secure the mount properly. All things considered, you can't go wrong with this camera. I already ordered 3 more to replace my remaining 8 year old Spotlight Ring cameras. I definitely would recommend this system.

Worth the upgrade from Ring Stick Up camera

I have been using Ring products for many years. From their doorbells to their cameras. It is a great ecosystem with all their products working with one another. I currently have a couple of the Ring Outdoor Stick Up cameras. These have worked well over the years but their age is showing. Accessing the cameras to view live footage or reviewing are lagging. However, the video quality it records is still good. This new camera has a resolution of up to 2K. Installation is easy just like previous models with some improvements that I have noticed. The base of the camera can swivel in more angles, a lot more. I replaced on of my cameras mounted on the side of the garage door. With this new camera, I can now move it side to side and get better angles of the street. The view is also wider. This also has USB-C port/cable. Prior models have a barrel-style plug. It has mic and speakers. You can have two-way communication with the person it is monitoring. The improved performance, resolution, and improved mounting is worth the upgrade if you have just the regular stick up cam. If you are going to have multiple Ring cameras, you should at least have one Plus model for the reasons I have given. I recommend this camera if you are already using the Ring system or planning on using it. It is a great addition to their doorbell.

2K Update to the solid Stick Up Cam

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Outdoor Cam Plus is a 2K resolution upgrade to the venerable Stick Up Cam from Ring. Ring looks like it is updating its entire line-up of cameras from 1080p to 2K and higher and the upgrade is much needed, especially if you wanted to capture finer details like facial features outside. Competitor products have been on 2K for years and even 4K so the upgrades are much needed. Where Ring really shines however is how easy it is to add and upgrade within the ecosystem. With a Ring Paid plan, you can add as many devices as you want to your plan for the same bundle pricing. I' on the Standard plan and have been for years and I don't really think about it because of the convenience of not having to worry about storage or having home networked storage, even though I do have a nice NAS unit, I can just access everything from the cloud. It also provides for 10% off many products at Ring.com and extends the warranty for any devices you add while you are on a paid plan. I've used all of these perks at one point or another and Ring has also been very good about giving credit/discounts if a device failed to purchase a new Ring device. As for the Outdoor Cam Plus, I chose the battery/wireless version for a number of reasons and its really useful in some of the following use-cases: 1. I plan to put this camera in the Playroom to watch my young children when I'm around the corner cooking or not within line of sight. My kids tend to get at cables and pull on them which is a hazard if I don't secure them with wall conduits but that is ugly and often requires patching later. I also have to mount the cameras into the walls. Its a lot of unsightly stuff on my walls to just keep an eye on them. Baby monitors work too but they are standalone devices I don't want to deal with anymore. The Outdoor Cam Plus is perfect because I can just mount the camera high and just swap the battery. So far it looks like I'll get about 3-4 weeks out of a single full charge, but that really depends on how much you trigger the motion sensors, how much live view you do etc. There's also some settings on the Camera settings in the App that can help conserve power. Still, I can charge it and be back up and running in about 3 hours. 2. With the extra Solar charging panel, you can theoretically put this camera in some crazy places and never have to replace the battery. The solar charging kit is extra but still reasonably priced, but this can allow you to connect to the top of your houses' eave, attic, a tree, a tree house or anything else high that has good sunlight and WiFi to literally give you a birds-eye view of your property. Very useful! 3. Parts of your property that don't have power, like a tool shed or property border, you can use this camera in either battery mode or battery + solar mode. Very useful. Set-up like all Ring products is a breeze. You just scan the QR code on the instructions or the back of the camera, tell it where and how you plan to use it and you're quickly connected. One of the most seamless onboarding processes for IoT devices around. I did run into an issue trying to add the Camera before the actual release date of 3/26/2025, but that was a temporary block placed by Amazon/Ring that resolved on release day. Also, if you plan to install the Camera indoors to look out a window, make sure to set it up that way in the Camera settings. The IR lights will cast a bad reflection that glares out everything so you can't see out the window. Also, make sure it is darker inside than outside, or you will just get a window reflection. Another great Ring product and upgrade to my system. I'll likely add the solar kit and put this camera outside once my kids are old enough to not need monitoring, maybe near the street and mailbox so I can catch some of the dog owners who don't clean up after their dogs....

The ring outdoor cam plus is very easy to install with the included hardware, and set up is a breeze with the app. If you already have other ring devices, this one will easily add to the dashboard so you can see all your videos in ome place. The video quality is great, with up to 2k resolution, giving you a very wide angle of view. The night image is good too. It includes an IR light for night time, with the option of turning it off from the app in case you have the camera facing a window. Since this is an outdoor cam, it is weather resistant. No need to worry about the elements. The two way speaker works clearly and is loud enough to hear when mounted high. The camera is battery operated so the drain will depend on how often you view live video and how often your motion detection settings make it go off. You can customize all this in the app. Typical battery times can generally range from 1 to 6 months, however this is all depending on use and your personal settings. I recommend a solar panel for expected heavier use. Overall, the the ease of installation, the ease of the app, and the video quality make this outdoor cam plus a must recommend.

What’s in the box: • Ring Outdoor Cam Plus with rechargeable battery pack • Mounting bracket • Mounting hardware • Charge cable Setup: There aren’t really any instructions included. There is a QR code to download the app. The tiny sheet that has the QR code instructs you to take the battery pack out and charge it. You will also need to take the battery out to get the contact shield off. To do that, press the metal tab toward the battery and it will slip out of the case. If you follow the instructions and use the charge port on the battery pack, you will be greatly disappointed to see that the port is a mini USB and not USB-C. All is not lost though. On the back side of the camera case, just above the serial number, there is a little plastic plug. Pull the plug out and you will see an externally accessible USB-C charging port. Yeah! Pair this with a small solar panel and you have the best of both worlds. Things went downhill for a bit when I tried to add the Outdoor Cam Plus to my existing ring app. I selected setup a device from my dashboard. Then I selected security cams, then “I’m Ready to Scan”, I scanned the QR code and got a prompt to update the Ring app. I tried. My app store said it was already up to date. I tried to install the device again. Same thing. So, I restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the Ring app. Same thing again. After about five tries the camera announced it was set up and ready. But it still did not show up in the app and the app was still in that "you have to update before we can go on" loop. But it was working with Alexa, even though Alexa says it has to be in the Ring app first. I could live-view the camera with Alexa, but still could not access it from the Ring app. After about an hour, the new camera suddenly appeared in my Ring app. This was frustrating. But it did eventually work. However, it still did not show up in my SO’s Ring app. I later found that I had to log into my Ring account (not just the app) and click a radio button allowing the SO access to the new device. Pro tip, check there before the SO gets upset. Pros: • It’s battery operated so no wiring is needed and it will work with a solar panel. • It can be placed pretty much anywhere that it gets a WiFi signal. • It can be mounted multiple ways. • The video is sharp and clear • It works well in low light • It works with Alexa Cons: • The Ring app is really bad. I’m not exactly sure how I finally got it to work. (I started to downgrade the rating due to the app. But decided the camera is fine and I’m not rating the app here.) • You are pretty much out of luck setting it up if the app doesn’t work. There are essentially no instructions outside of the process built into the app. • To get the most out of the camera you need a subscription. However, if you already have a subscription covering multiple Ring devices, you can just add this one without additional costs. Summary: It’s a nice camera. While it exceeded my patience level getting the app to recognize it, it all works very well now. If you need a camera that can be placed just about anywhere and you already have Ring devices, check this one out.

This is a great new addition to Ring cameras and their security ecosystem. This camera is a wired "Plug-in" electrical outlet one and can be set up to work if you have access to an electrical outlet. This may not be ideal for everyone’s outdoor use, but I set up my camera in an outdoor location near an outdoor outlet. For me it would be a little too much work to have the wireless/battery version of this same camera in this location because I would have to pull the camera off the included mount and bring it in to charge it. This camera can also be set up to be used indoors as well. The camera comes with mounting hardware for various installation types, and was very easy for me to install. I would recommend that you make sure you pair this Ring camera to your ring app and account prior to mounting it in any fixed location, to be sure it maintains a good wifi signal to your router. There is no floodlight on this camera, which is good in my case, as I didn’t want motion detection to set off the floodlight on the neighbor’s side of the adjoining fence. This camera also has a low-light feature for night which also works very well. I have been a Ring user for a few years now, and have a ring doorbell, and a ring pan-tilt indoor camera as well at our home. While Ring may not have the most technologically advanced cameras, this Outdoor Cam Plus is only a 2k camera, what Ring does well is make everything super easy and intuitive to setup and use. Although the camera is 2k which I think is even more than enough resolution, I find that it is more than sharp enough for my use. I have it setup on the side of my home pointing down an area I previously did not have monitored. Setup was pretty quick and easy, and in just a few minutes I went ahead and mounted the camera. I have it setup pointing vertically so that it can catch the narrow space between my home and my neighbors fence. Overall, Ring I think has the best security ecosystem, and I would highly recommend this new addition to their outdoor camera.

I recently helped a family member install a Ring alarm system, so I’m somewhat familiar with the Ring and the functions. This was my first experience with a Ring camera. I was curious how it stacks of to other cameras I’ve used in the past. Setting up the Ring camera is just as easy as setting up the alarm. I plugged in the camera with the included power cable. Then I simply use the app to add a device, select camera and it worked seamlessly for me. After a few selections, the camera appeared in my Ring app dashboard. The camera needs the power cord to work, it can use a battery, but it is not included ($35). There are many camera settings you can adjust, some are common, such as motion sensitivity, motion schedules – to avoid getting notifications at certain times and days, camera zones – this would detect motion only in a designated area of the camera’s field of view. Others settings more unique to the Ring ecosystem, such as linking, an example for is having the cameras record when someone presses the doorbell, smart responses – camera can inform guest they are being recorded when motion is detected. I tested this camera by setting it up inside my house. I found the video quality to be very good in well lit conditions. The image is detailed and clear. In the app, the timeline makes it easy to scroll back to see when motion was detected. It even labels the motion in the timeline with “person”, it can also detect “vehicles” or “other”. In low light, the video is shown in color, a nice feature, first time I’ve seen that in any camera system. In complete darkness, the camera shifts to standard black and white. In complete darkness, even though the camera has night vision, it’s challenging for the camera to render video quality. This is true with most cameras though. Overall you get a lot of camera for the money, it’s got a lot of features more expensive camera systems have. The optional battery will run you $35, this seems a bit steep to me, almost 50% of the price of camera. Pet peeve: I wish they would design cameras that are more aesthetically pleasing, this reminds me of a garbage can.

I have owned a Ring doorbell for several years but this is my first security camera from Amazon/Ring. After using it for nearly a week, I've been very happy with its performance. Pros: - I love the design of this camera, allowing it to just sit straight up on its base if you would like to place it indoors on a shelf, or pivot the base to where it becomes a mount. Everything you need to mount the camera is included in the box. - The integrated siren is a nice feature that allows you to alert would-be intruders that they are being watched. You can turn the siren on and off within the app very easily. - The video quality is fantastic and the field of vision is very impressive. - The value you get for the MSRP is excellent. Being able to keep an eye on your home from anywhere, without requiring a monthly fee, is something I really appreciate. You can subscribe to a monthly plan, however, if you want to be able to store digital content. - This camera was very easy to add to my Ring app. Having access to my doorbell cam and this camera all in one place is extremely convenient and I like the idea of being able to add more devices in the future if I want. Cons: - Within the settings I could not find a way to turn the camera off. It has options to disable motion alerts, but I wish it had an option to just turn the camera off completely. I've had other security cameras with this feature and enjoy having the option if I want to preserve the battery life when the camera is not needed. This camera is a terrific buy and I would recommend it to anyone looking for added security/protection around their home. Just keep in mind you'll need to be within range of a WiFi router in order for it to work.

This ring camera is outstanding. Video is crystal clear, and audio is crisp. Set up & connectivity was a breeze. Very durable so far with the Midwest weather conditions outside. Motion detection & alerting work very well. The camera has been very reliable so far. I have 4 of these cameras with a mix of both the battery and plugin models. The battery operating ones seem to hold up well with a charge. Would definitely recommend. Highly rated.

I currently have several Ring cameras indoors plus the Ring doorbell. This is my first addition of a Ring outdoor camera to my system. I choose a location where I could watch activity in my alleyway which also happens to be adjacent to a very busy parking lot. The camera comes with enough mounting hardware to place it in just about any position on any solid surface. The wiring is long enough to plug it into an outlet within 20 feet. Connecting to my WiFi network took longer than I expected. Once connected. it took several minutes to update. After that, it still required several minutes to be able to view the camera image in the Ring app so that I could decide where to physically place the camera based on the field of view and then select detection and privacy zones. The 2K color sensor is good, but not great, depending on how you want to use it. For example, at a close distance, such as a person at my garage door, I can determine if it is a friend or foe. However, further away, the image is not sharp enough to recognize a face or a license plate at a distance of greater than 15 feet. Tkink of the image as being similar to that of the Ring doorbell camera, but with a wider field of view. The audio system supports two-way audio and is similar to that of the doorbell camera. he Ring app does provide real time alerts. I have yet to test the alarm. Overall, it is a good addition to my Ring camera system and well-suited for this outdoor location. I recommmend it if you have a Ring system and are looking to add outdoor cameras to your system.

In my pursuit of a discreet yet effective outdoor security solution, the Ring Outdoor Cam Plus has proven to be a commendable choice. Its sleek white design integrates seamlessly into various exterior aesthetics, offering both form and function. The camera’s 2K video resolution delivers crisp and detailed footage, enhancing the clarity of surveillance recordings. The Low-Light Sight feature ensures visibility in dim conditions, providing true-to-life color and detail even in near-dark environments . The device’s versatility is noteworthy, with multiple power options including battery, plug-in, and solar, accommodating diverse installation scenarios . Its weather-resistant construction ensures reliable performance across various climates, from -4°F to 122°F . The 160° field of view provides expansive coverage, effectively monitoring larger outdoor areas . Integration with the Ring app facilitates real-time alerts and two-way communication, enhancing the overall security experience. While advanced features such as 24/7 recording and AI-powered video search require a Ring Home Premium subscription , the core functionalities of the camera remain robust and user-friendly. Amazing device! Definitely has helped us out with keeping an eye on our house when we go away. We had some problems with neighbors/kids trashing our back yard while we were away. Getting this camera helps us when we go away for the weekend. The distance of view, night vision, and quality of the video feed is amazing! Battery life seems to last a long time as well. Camera was super easy to install as well, only took a few minutes to get done. And the app setup was super easy as well.

The Ring Outdoor Cam Plus is a great new addition to the Ring line up of cameras. First thing you'll notice is that it arrives in more aqua colored packaging rather than the traditional cyan packaging. When you open it up, you'll find a very solid looking and feeling unit that has a multifunctional base on it. The base has a mounting plate to it so you can hang the camera upside down from the ceiling, perpendicular to a wall and anywhere in between. With a quick pull and a click you have a bracket that helps to make the camera very adjustable indeed. There are tiny locking screws, so you can lock the base, lock the mount etc as well. There are also little rubber feet if you are placing the camera on top of something and not mounting it in place to a wall or ceiling. I chose to set my camera up before mounting, I always find that is the best route. I have quite a large array of Ring cameras both inside and outside the house. I choose to link my Ring cameras to my Ring Chime, to extend the range. In this case, I am technically using this camera both outdoors and indoors. I am placing it in my garage, where I record a lot of videos for YouTube, with the garage doors open constantly. This means here in Texas, the camera has to deal with temps in the 100's constantly, but also work in dark and confined spaces as well. I want the added security for my recording equipment when I have to step away, but also for my vehicles as well. It should also offer the the ability to grab some 'fly on the wall' type video, as I record my videos as well with the ability to easily download footage from the Ring camera to my phone. Set up, as with any other Ring Camera, the app and the camera take you through all of the steps. Open the Ring app, select add device, and you are taken through step by step of the installation process. In my case, as mentioned, I connected the camera to the Ring Chime in my hallway which is about halfway between the router in my study and the location in the garage where it's positioned. I scanned the QR Code on the back of the camera (another great reason to set up the camera BEFORE mounting it in place). Once connected, there will be software update that needs to happen, so be patient. When that is complete, you are ready to mount your camera wherever it's final location is desired. This camera is the wired version of the camera, but it is worth noting that if you unscrew the base of the camera, you will see that there is actually all the preparation for it to contain a battery, and therefore to operate like a battery cam as well (if you purchase the battery separately). Very convenient indeed, if your power cord doesn't reach the outlet you intended. Once mounted in place, you can go into the app and select the camera to get it into the position that you desire. Live view is awesome, you can speak through the camera into the space (have to allow the camera to access your microphone on your phone) and you can see what is going on in real time. I already have a Ring subscription for addition recording and features, so I simply added this camera to the list. I have the cameras set up to take a snapshot every 5 mins, and then trigger when it senses a person. You are able to set up boundaries, so maybe a high traffic area your family uses won't trigger all the time, or you can block out areas such as trees that might sway in the wind and trigger a motion alert etc. The camera has Ring Vision, some kind of wizardry that enhances the night vision of the camera and gives you a color image, even at night, and then during the day the vision engine enhances the detail of the video to give you a nice crisp images. However, one flaw I noticed when installed in my garage is that the strips of LED lights in there cause some interpolation shadows across the image that scroll ever so slowly down the screen, giving light and dark areas to the video. Not ideal in this case, not a deal breaker, but definitely something worth noting, as this 2K camera is all about the image quality, but this situation is the reason for the 1 star ding. Aside from that, the set up was a breeze, the functionality of the camera, the motion sensing to notification time is almost instant - live view is very quick to respond, you can send custom messages that have been prepopulated by Ring to alert people, whether on a friendly basis, or as a deterrent, there are options. Overall, a very nice, robust camera, good for outdoors and high heat environments, great picture quality with that 2K camera, easy to install and set up. My only challenge are the interpolation bars across the screen from the LED lights in my garage. Otherwise, a great camera!

      Hi Cupra.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is for your Ring Outdoor Cam Plus to record clear and concise videos so that you can effectively monitor your home. The features and technology provided by the Ring Outdoor Cam Plus are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to ensure your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the video quality concern you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not operating as intended. Ring devices require high-speed internet to bring you crisp, clear video and audio. Poor network connectivity can affect the performance of your Ring device. Identify and troubleshoot what is causing connectivity issues for Ring devices to give you the best possible video and audio experience.

To determine whether or not the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. Ring devices with 1080p video require at least 1 Mbps upload and download speeds, though 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance. In addition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range. The recommended range for optimal performance is 0 to -60 for the RSSI.
