The Ring Smart Lighting Bridge connects to the Ring app using your home wifi network. It lets you control whole groups of Smart Lights and other Ring products, and be notified via the Ring app when any light or motion sensor detects movement. Without the Ring Bridge, your Floodlight Wired functions only as a standard motion-sensing light. With a Ring Bridge, you can control whole groups of lights at once and be notified via the Ring app when any light or motion sensor senses movement.

Having peace of mind that your Ring Bridge has a strong connection is very important. As consumers, we expect a product to perform at its best. Please know that we are here to take a deep look into everything and ensure that this gets resolved quickly. The Ring Bridge is designed to work in many environments to provide you with peace of mind and security. If you are having connection issues with your Bridge, you might want to try a reset.

If you try to reset your device, be aware of the following time frames:

Holding the button down for one to five seconds should force the bridge into setup mode.

Holding the button down for six to 10 seconds: This is a power cycle/reset. This will cause the device to forget any of the settings previously saved and will force you to re-set up all the lights.

If you’re still having issues, try resetting your modem and/or router. To do this, follow the instructions below:

Unplug your router or model from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).

If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.

Wait 15-20 seconds, then plug them back in.

Wait a minute or two for the internet to be restored.

Confirm that your internet has been restored by connecting another device to your wifi network and trying to access a website, then repeat the setup process.

Ring Bridge is the central hub that integrates Ring Smart Lights, Motion Sensors, and Transformers into your Ring system. The Bridge connects to the Ring app using your home wifi network and connects to other Ring Smart Lighting products using a proprietary long-range communication protocol. Without the Ring Bridge, your Floodlight Wired functions only as a standard motion-sensing light. With a Ring Bridge, you can control whole groups of lights at once and be notified via the Ring app when any light or motion sensor senses movement. When your Ring Smart Light detects motion, or turns on or off, you can link other connected Ring cameras and doorbells to start recording, or connect compatible Ring devices to turn on their lights.

You can link Ring Alarm, Ring doorbells, cameras, and smart lighting in the Ring app to perform action when a Ring, Motion, or Alarm Event happens.

We have included the steps here for how to link Ring devices:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰) and then Devices.
Select the primary Device where the Event will happen.
Tap the Linked Devices tile on your Device Dashboard.
Choose the action your other Ring devices should take when someone interacts with your primary Device.
Under each device at your location, tap the actions you want each device to perform, or leave devices to do nothing.
Tap Save and now your devices are linked.
If you have a Ring Protect plan, your Ring videos will show in your Event History as a Linked Event. Ring Protect is not required to link your devices, but only compatible Ring devices can perform certain actions like turning on lights.

Motion Detected: When your Ring camera detects motion, you can link other connected Ring cameras and doorbells to start recording, or connect compatible Ring devices to turn on their lights.

Alarm Sounding: When your Alarm sounds, you can link connected Ring cameras and doorbells to start recording, or connect compatible Ring devices to turn on their lights.
Entry Delay: While someone is entering your location and disarming Ring Alarm, you also link connected Ring cameras and doorbells to start recording, or connect compatible Ring devices to turn on their lights.

Motion Detected: When your Ring Smart Light detects motion, or turns on or off, you can link other connected Ring cameras and doorbells to start recording, or connect compatible Ring devices to turn on their lights.

One of the most powerful ways to use your Ring Smart Solar Lights is to group them together using the "Groups" function in the Ring app. Grouping your Smart Lights allows them to react intelligently to events that happen on your property. You can, for example, turn on all the lights on one side of the house when any single Smart Solar Light device in that group detects motion. You can also turn on and off and control large numbers of Smart Lights without having to use them individually. When you put your Smart Lights in a group, when one light activates, they all do. This is good in that it allows you to place a net of motion detection across a large area.
