My Ring Doorbell makes me feel more secure. Easy to install.

If it works it is very good. But it constantly looses connection to the internet. The door bell is only 5dt away from the chime pro and constantly looses connection. I have other cameras which are 25ft away, even in the garage which never loose the connection. It is gray when you are at home and can reconnect it all the time, but useless when you want to protect your house while away from home.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Ring. We understand the importance of having your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro up and running to protect your home. The features and technology provided by the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We want to ensure your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the concern you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like you have concerns about your Ring device losing connection to the wifi. The Ring Wired Doorbell Pro requires a doorbell transformer rated at 16–24 VAC, 50/60 HZ, and 30–40 VA max. If your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro is not receiving enough power, your device will not work as intended. Some symptoms of insufficient power include not correctly ringing your existing internal doorbell, regularly losing connection to your wifi network, freezing up or shutting down during the ringtone sound after a button press, regularly shutting off (the white light on the front will turn off), freezing up during a live event, night vision doesn't work, or the doorbell working fine for a couple of events and then stopping working. If your device is still receiving power but the light on your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro does not light up and flash, you can try performing a factory reset.
Follow these steps to perform a factory reset:
1. Undo the security screw to remove the faceplate. 2. Find the setup button on the right side of the doorbell. 3. Press and hold the setup button for 10 seconds. 4. Once the reset is complete, the doorbell will enter setup mode.
Once the device is in setup mode, follow the steps below to reconnect your device to your wifi network:
1. Open the Ring app. 2. Tap the menu (≡). 3. Tap Devices and select the doorbell or camera you'd like to reconnect to wifi. 4. Tap the Device Health tile. 5. Under Network, tap Change Network and follow the prompts in the app. 6. Allow some time for your device to fully reconnect to the network, then check your wifi signal strength in Device Health to confirm it has successfully reconnected.

Lasted six months and it doesn't work well. You can come in and out of the driveway with a car and it doesn't pick up anything. Tried to get help from ring customer support and you just get sent in circles and they don't listen. It appears the are just reading from a script.
Hi DareBare. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how critical it is for your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro to notify you of meaningful motion events where the device is installed. Consistent and dependable motion alerts are an essential feature for the Wired Doorbell Pro to function properly. This is likely the reason you purchased this security device in the first place: to be alerted to people on your property. We are here today to provide you with solutions that will assist you in finding the best device settings for your home’s environment.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The Wired Doorbell Pro is Ring's premium doorbell with advanced features, including 3D Motion Detection, enhanced Head-to-Toe HD+ Video, Audio+, Bird's Eye View, and Alexa Greetings (for Ring Protect subscribers). 3D Motion Detection uses radar technology to precisely identify where and when a motion event begins. The radar sensor measures the distance and angle of objects in front of the camera, allowing for more specific motion detection alerts.
Thank you for your diligence and commitment in working with our community support towards resolving this matter. This camera uses Adjustable Motion Detection and runs using passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distance under the Motion Settings tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the Motion Frequency setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the Motion Frequency to 'Frequently'.It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This includes increasing the "Motion Sensitivity" and setting "Motion Frequency" to "Frequently" in the Ring app.
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling Smart Alerts for people only in your Ring app.
To enable Smart Alerts:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left. Tap Devices. Tap the device that you want to adjust. Tap Motion Settings. Tap Smart Alerts. Tap Enable Feature. Tap Continue. Select the notification options that you want for Person and Other Motion. You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications. After you've adjusted your settings tap Done.
We agree that your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro should notify you when someone is at your home consistently and reliably. We invite you to reach out to our Community if any additional information is needed regarding your concern. The Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another by sharing their feedback and experiences with each other.
Thank you, Melissa from Ring.

The night vision camera and quality of videos are terrible. Ring support admitted they are getting a lot of complaints re how poor the night vision is. Until they fix it I would not recommend this doorbell

This ring Doorbell camera works great. It has a very clear picture that captures a wide view of my front porch area. Also the microphone picks up sound from a good distance so I can see and hear who approaching my door very clearly. The installation was quite easy with simple instruction. I would recommend this product.

Had to replace a previous version of same doorbell. Expected to just unscrew and replace, but found out that this model has been updated. Old colored cover plate doesn’t fit since screw holes moved. New camera much better view and angle!!! Can now see packages!!! Great upgrade to previous pro 2

The question really comes down to new or upgrading. Of two opinions so here goes.
New - If you do not have a video doorbell, the Ring Pro 2 is a great option. The square aspect ratio is fantastic and allows you to see a more top to bottom then the previous version. Yes there is a bit of a "fish eye" effect, but I don't think it's an issue. Audio quality is great. Motion detection has been on point so far. I get good pre-recording when delivery stops out front and the delivery guy starts to approach the house, without getting false notifications from cars passing by the house. Ring integrates with Alexa well, especially the "Show" versions and automatically displays the door cam when the bell is rung. Also allows audio communication through the show. Love that feature.
Upgrading - There's just not enough here that I would recommend upgrading over an existing Pro. The birds eye view is hoke, not really seeing the point. Radar is eh... The only impactful change is the aspect ratio and for some that like the wide angle or don't need a more top to bottom view, there just isn't any reason to upgrade. The rest of the features you'll find in the existing Pro.
Cons - The only flaw we've seen so far is night vision seems less clear and sharp over the existing Pro model. My thought is that it is a firmware issue, that will probably get ironed out before too long. If you had the previous model, there is only 1 face plate in the box. You do get another via redemption code for one of 14 different colors, nice but people are reporting they are having issues getting the email with the code.

Excellent video quality with a wide view that is much better than my Arlo Pro 2 cameras. Easy to install and set up. Now I don’t have to worry about batteries going dead while we are away from home. I love the back up 6 seconds feature that shows the video from just before the motion was detected. Now I get people coming up the walkway instead of the delay with Arlo that shows the person leaving.

I bought this for my sister’s house. She is very happy with the xtra security when they are not home. They live part time in Florida so there is many times that no one is there!! Worth buying for sure!

Works very well. There is a slight delay for the notification to my phone, probably 5 seconds. but does the job very well and the installation instructions were very good. I have been using it for a month.

My husband and I did a lot of research on cameras and doorbell cams for home security. We finally came to the decision to buy the Ring Pro 2 as it seemed to have the best quality picture as well as other features we were looking for in convenience and app interface. We love it! We installed it with the wedge angle piece on our front porch and it gives the perfect angle and range of vision for the front of our house. We love how you can personalize the notifications and really cater the way you want to see notifications and different types of movement. It really gives us peace of mind for our home and our safety, we are happy we went with this model. Love also being able to see and speak to someone at our front door, that has been a helpful feature.
Set up was fairly simple and the app walks you thru step by step with photos and videos to help. We were even able to wire it to our existing doorbell so it still rings inside the house too.

I have both Ring Video Doorbell Pro, version 1 and this one, version 2, and I can see a difference in video quality., with Pro 2 having a better resolution. The Pro 2 version also has a wider field of view, you can actually see the whole person standing in front of it and a few feet, left and right. Initially, I was thinking of getting one of the Rings that are battery operated, but reading the reviews made me go with this one. Installation is quite simple, after you disconnect the power from the main electrical panel of your house, you would need to connect the existing doorbell wires to the back of Ring Pro 2 video doorbell. After that, install the Ring app and follow the steps to connect Ring Pro 2 to the internet and download some updates. Highly recommended. Happy with my purchase.

(Five paranoid stars)
I bought this Ring Doorbell because I thought it would make me feel safer. Instead, it made me too powerful. Within hours of installation, I became the all-seeing Eye of Suburbia. I know when the mailman blinks. I know when squirrels conspire. I watched a raccoon contemplate his life choices at 3:12 a.m. and honestly? He looked haunted.
The camera quality is so crisp I can see into other dimensions. I watched a Jehovah’s Witness come to my door, read the “No Soliciting” sign, sigh, then debate with himself for 14 minutes before walking away. I felt spiritually connected to him.
Motion alerts? Don’t get me started. A leaf moved once and the Ring pinged me like it had discovered a political coup. My phone now vibrates with the energy of a caffeinated hummingbird, warning me of every butterfly that dares flap its wings in my ZIP code.
Battery life? Eternal. I suspect dark magic. It has not died. It will never die. It has replaced my will to live.
Privacy? LOL. The Ring sees me. I see the Ring. Sometimes we just sit in silence and reflect.
Would I recommend it? Of course. It changed my life. I no longer breathe the same. The air now tastes of hyperawareness and mild paranoia.
10/10. Would surveil again.
