Customers praise Rocksmith 2014 Edition for its ease of use and fun gameplay, finding it a great tool for learning to play guitar. Many appreciate the game's unique learning approach and the ability to use a real guitar, enhancing the overall experience. While some users noted occasional lag, the positive feedback on the improved interface and enjoyable learning process outweighs this minor drawback.

I loved the original Rocksmith, and this one is just amazing! Great update to the (hopefully) series. The interface has been improved, the songs are getting better, and it's just an easy, fast, fun way to learn guitar and/or bass. I loved the Guitar Hero and Rockband games, and this just takes it to the next level. You can't go clicky button guitar at an open mic night, but I feel like there's a couple songs now that I could easily play on stage with the real bands thanks to this game. It's a must have for anyone looking to learn to play.

I've been a drummer for thirty years and bought this for my son who is learning to play bass ( you can play guitar and bass with this version). It starts you off slow, one or two notes at a time, then it adds more notes until you get better. It does this with each section of the song so you sometimes play all the notes on the parts of the songs you " master" and only some notes on the parts you havent quite learned yet. What i think the best part of the game is that once you really got a part down, the notes disappear and you are just playing along with the music. I liked the way this game teaches so much, that I went out and bought myself a guitar to try and learn...We'll see... After all, I am a drummer... Excellent game for parents who want your kids gaming time to be productive plus two people can play at the same time with different skill levels ( you will need to purchase a second cable)

I was skeptical at first, but now this is the best purchase I have ever made. It is like having a teacher in your living room, but a teacher into video games. I love the way they incorporate games into learning how to play. Best purchase you will ever make if you want to learn how to play guitar!

I read a lot of reviews before buying. I was late to the party and bought a few months into 2015 (around the same time I picked up a guitar). Unlike some, I did not buy a guitar to play Rocksmith. I watched videos/dvds, read books for a month or two before buying my guitar, then I learned about Rocksmith, which sounded like a great tool to help me get better. I can definitely recommend this software. If you have the money, lessons from an experienced/reputable instructor is the way to go. However, watching videos, reading books (practicing daily) in conjunction with Rocksmith can be a solid alternative. Rocksmith does a nice job at providing guidance by showing you lessons, game modes and teaching you songs. You can start with videos of what you should be doing and then it makes you do "lessons." You then receive a score depending on how well you do. You can also learn songs. The first time you choose a song you will get a basic idea of how to play the song. As you begin to get better, the software adjusts and the song becomes a little more complex until you are ready to play the song on Master mode -- without any visual queues. It can feel rewarding to learn a song and really know it from memory. The are also some other modes including arcade mini games to help you get better. Overall, you can learn a lot from Rocksmith and you will have a ton of fun while learning. DLC can expand your music library and I recommend starting with songs you really enjoy to really draw you in.

After 6 months of diligently practicing, I was able to play several songs. Great thing about this game is that it allows you to slowly build up to sections of the song. A lot of the time I felt like I was trying to beat a level of a game and not learning to play a song.

this game is a lot better and more varied than the original Rocksmith. It gives plenty of challenges while teaching you newer chords, riffs, etc. You never feel like you can't improve. This game has me back into playing again. Its a great tutor for myself and for my son who never played before.

I have the original Rocksmith and wanted to buy this one also because of the additional songs. For only a few dollars you can add all of the original songs to the new 2014 game, and any songs downloaded on the old game will be transferred to the new one. Also, the interface on 2014 is easier to navigate and just makes more sense. it seems easier to learn how to play with the new game. I love it! Plus, new songs are being added all the time.

I bought this for my older brother for Christmas (I'd read really solid reviews about this, but had never seen it in use). My brother reports that this product helped him get started and he has successfully learned several songs.

I have only got to play it for a few hours and don't know a lot about the game yet but I have started the lessons and in the short time I have learned how to do things I never would have known how on my own. I am a complete novice.

Loved this game. This is cable-included bundle. The cable was long enough to sit a good distance from the TV. And the game teaches you guitar quite effectively.

This game is challenging enough for experienced guitarists, yet breaks thing down sufficiently for beginners. Though it is no substitute for individual lessons with a live, experienced guitar teacher, it will give you detailed instruction even if you've never touched a real guitar before. Whether you are accomplished or aspiring, Rocksmith 2014 is tons of fun. It was clearly created by guitarists for guitarists. The game is highly customizable to suit your preferences. There are even video games within the game, created to build your skill! Brilliant execution.

I have learned so much and this makes it not just about learning but fun too. It teaches you chords, how to play songs step by step. It lets you practice whether you are using a electric or bass guitar. It allows to play lead guitar or rhythm. It also has fun games to play. This is the greatest game for PS3 and I am learning as I go.

If you want a game go get guitar hero... if you want to learn to shred legendary guitar songs then you want Rocksmith! If your are new to guitar I would still suggest some introductory lessons so you get the fundamentals down before you develop a bunch of bad habits. but for someone with the basics that is interested in learning some difficult tabs this is an amazing tool for doing just that. The fact that you can at anytime isolate a customizable number of bars from a song and then scale down the difficulty and tempo until you are ready for a more advanced version is awesome. You can chose from 1-100% of tempo and tab so by the time you are winning the game at 100% tempo and tab you are playing the actual score for the song. Also, there are a lot of really great guitar songs in the game and a constantly expanding library that has new content that is downloadable.
