Samsung as always has been A+ in terms of smart tv. I returned my Sony Bravia when the tv starts flickering and shutting down and exchange it to this beauty! The only problem Samsung needs to tweak is the smart remote because its too sensitive but overall, its a solid Purchase!

I'm extremely fussy! This 4k panel is precisely what I was hoping for. Breathtaking picture quality. Any media feed is upscaled to 4K Quality. Netflix "House of Cards" Season 2 is TREMENDOUS. VERY SATISFIED

I've had this TV now for over month and it has continued to impress. I will confess that this is the first big TV purchase I have ever made. So the size and all the bells and whistles, Smart Tv, 4k, wireless internet etc.. have really made the difference in my tv viewing experience. While the 4k content is limited to Netflix and Youtube for the most part, the picture is crisp and clear. connecting the tv is simple and the smart tv component is very user friendly (complete with alternate scrolling remote!). I had previously used my xbox and dvd player as my "smart" device for streaming, but now my tv has become once again the focal point to all things A/V. Full Disclosure - I did get lucky enough to buy this TV at an "OUT OF THE BOX" - discount and found it to be an incredible price for an exceptional tv. As great as the TV is for me, I don't think I would pay full price for it (but if you can find this TV on sale, I would not hesitate).

I was skeptical at first, to say the least about upgrading from my 720 Panny plasma. After 6 months of researching many models, there was no hurry, I finally got this one. The picture on this set is wonderful, ease of use, looks good, and the 3D is just fun. The only downside are the TV's speakers most of the time. A very impressive LCD screen. The 4K is a jaw dropper if you sit really close. The "smart apps" come up very quick but I guess that will vary with your connection speed and other variables. I was surprised it was even fun going thru the settings and really liked that the "soap opera effect" can be turned off or tweaked. I still have many other settings to explore but I would buy this TV again since I can't have the 65 LG OLED, lol.

My old Sony TV broke down after 4 years and i needed something bigger and more reliable. Samsung seems to have a better overall product quality than most other brands...and it was on sale! This TV fits great in our little living room. We currently sit about 7' away from the TV and enjoy sharp/crisp graphics. A comparable size 1080 tv would leave us noticing pixles from that close of a distance. 3D stuff, its pretty neat, however, there's not too much out there for watching videos. Mainly youtube and some 3D blurays. Its great but there are not enough options to utilize it yet. Once netflix gets a larger collection of 3D movies we will be set! Oh, and one of my bluray glasses tends to drain the battery fairly quickly compared to the others. Not sure if its a defect or bad battery. All in all, if youre looking for a beautiful tv, buy this one! We're happy with it and have no buyers remorse.

I had not planned on buying a 4K Ultra-High-Def tv, but I am glad I did! There is not a great deal of native 4K content yet. I've found a handful of shows/movies available on Netflix and many demo-type vids available on YouTube. DirecTV and Amazon are scheduled to start providing some 4K content by the end of the year, so that will help us early adopters find stuff to watch. The clarity and smoothness of the picture in native 4K is something you have to see to believe. I am happy to say though that the software upscaling works surprisingly well, and the resulting picture of 1080 HD content is dramatically improved on the 4K screen for most content. I bought mine right before football season started, and sports enthusiasts of any kind will surely like the improved motion and precision of the picture. Most (all?) 4K tvs are listed at 60mHz refresh rate, but don't let that dissuade you. The software more than compensates and the motion I see on screen is very comparable to the high refresh rates seen on standard HD tvs. The interface and built-in apps are also nicely designed and easily accessible. Only thing it is lacking out of the box, for me, is Hulu Plus. The voice activated remote that also lets you point at the screen Wii-controller style is an amusing addition, but not something I use much. Also, even though I had little interest in it, the TV does 3D pretty well and includes 4 sets of glasses in the box. I am not a fan of 3D tv, but the large screen size on this unit *almost* makes it viable. All in all, I highly recommend if you have the budget for it (interest-fee financing is your friend!)

I've been a Samsung TV fan for a while now (this our 3rd Samsung) and I'm happy to say that the UN65HU8550 doesn't disappoint. The picture is super crisp and clear, and the up-scaling works well with a standard 1080 cable feed. I've also viewed 4K and 3D content from Netflix, both of which are highly entertaining. I also like the new smart remote - the point and click is much faster than a traditional d-pad (though it doesn't work on all apps). The 65 inch version fits our seating area nicely, and although it wasn't cheap, I'm very happy with my purchase.

The Samsung UN65HU8550FXZA may have been a bit of a sporadic purchase but well worth the money! We previously had a Samsung 61" DLP and has worked great for us for years. We, however, were at BB looking at and purchased a Sharp Aquos after discussing the details with one of their representatives, the larger screen size (70"/65") was a selling point as was what they considered a better picture quality. It was going to take a couple of days for the TV to arrive, and in those couple of days I researched the 'blank' out of both TV's. Obviously with my past experience with Samsung and the numerous reviews for this TV I was sold, I had to return the Sharp and get the Samsung. And are we glad we did! I can't tell you the quality of the picture and the richness of the color. It looks great and performs great! Even being the lower end model as compared to Samsung's 9000 series, I cannot say enough good things about this TV and the picture quality. An added bonus, 3D! I never wanted a smart TV, never wanted a 3D TV, but these were features built into it as is. I thought I would never use the 3D function, but a friend brought over a 3D movie, Hubble, and suggested I give it a try. WOW! I was floored at how well the 3D function performed as were some friends that came over to experience it as well! Even with what poor vision I have I was able to enjoy the 3D experience and enjoy a sharp crisp picture that the 3D picture provided. As I said, I can't say enough good things about this TV. We were able to get it on sale during the Holidays, and feel the quality was well worth the price! If you are looking at buying a new TV in the near future, give this one a look. It's not Samsung's top of the line, but for the price, the fact it is true 4K and it has some great additional features, we would Highly recommend this TV to our friends and family!

The TV is easy to use and has a fantastic picture, but I have been most surprised and pleased at how well the upscaling works. I have viewed some older movies on broadcast signals that look absolutely stunning due to the upscaling.

I've owned this TV for 6 months now. HDTV looks great. 4K video demos that I play through a connected flash drive are dazzling. I love the smart features such as the YouTube app, and the full web browser. I also stream content from my Android tablet using a Chromecast USB stick. Although I haven't watched any 3D movies yet, I'm glad that this TV has the ability to show them. I'm very satisfied!

It took me 3 months to finally decide to buy a new TV. So after checking the ratings from Amazon & Consumers Choice, I decided on the Samsung 65" 4K unit I can't believe the difference between this TV and my old one, the picture clarity and the ease of operation plus the fact that it is "SMART". I haven't watched a 3D movie yet, I'll give you a report on that when I do.

I purchased this television prior to the Super Bowl, and it has not disappointed. Everything looks amazing on this tv. Standard definition programming from cable and Netflix look great when compared to my old 1080p samsung tv which had a really good picture to begin with. Blueray movies are nothing short of amazing with a picture that jumps right out of the screen. I have not been this excited about a television since the first high definition televisions came out. The television is very smart too. I connected my sound bar to the TV, and it immediately recognized the sound bar and automatically used it without me having to do anything. It also recognizes when I turn my xbox or blueray player on and automatically changes sources. The smart remote is easy and intuitive to use. The talking feature seems to work very well, but I rarely use. The only real complaint I have so far is the Netflix app on the TV has sound issues while streaming content. If I use the Netflix app on my xbox their are no sound issues. I have found some complaints on the Web and can only hope they are working on it. I give the tv 4.5 out of 5 stars do to the sound issue but would give it a full 5 stars if the fix the app.

Amazing picture on this set! Find some true 4K material--it's out there on the 'net, and this set really shines. The upscaling works really well also. Get some calibrated settings from a place like AVS forum and you'll be *very* pleased with the quality of the picture on this set. 3D works great if you're into that!

The first time my wife and I turned on our new TV after hooking up the Dish Receiver (Hopper) and the surround sound receiver/Blu-ray player, we were simply amazed at the picture quality! The upscaling feature really works well. Filmed and taped HD TV shows look like live TV in 4K. The sharp focus on foreground characters gives an impression of 3D. We haven't watched a 3D program yet, but I have high expectations based on the looks of shows in 2D. We have looked at some of the 4K content, and the detail is fantastic. The only weak point is that if we watch using the internal speakers, the sound is somewhat "tinny." But, since we almost always use the sound system, this is not really an issue. We are very happy with our purchase.

Great TV. Picture is outstanding, the people look like they are in the room with you. And the scenery is like you are there. The set up is very easy. We just plugged it into the sound system receiver and turned it on. And WOW. It is better than the movies, popcorn is cheaper and better, you can leave the room and not miss any of the movie, plus best seats in the house every time. We have had it a month and like it more everyday. We still have a lot to learn about the TV and the remotes but it is like a new toy everyday. The only issue with this TV and the remotes we have found is that if we hook everything into the sound system receiver then the smart remote functions do not all work, like changing channels. Not sure what other features will not work with it connected like we have it connected. But Best Buy said to connected it to that receiver and not all to the TV.

This is a great TV but you need to set it up properly. As many of you may know, default settings make a TV look great in the store where it is brightly lit. Then you get the TV home and the picture is so bad, you wonder if you got the same model as the one in the store. You can try to set it up yourself, or if you are like me and don't have the time to mess with all those settings, just Google UN65HU8550 settings. You will find plenty of posts where people that do have the time, have already figured out the best settings. You may need to tweak them a little to match you specific room characteristics but at least you have a good baseline. Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase but I have to warn you, Samsung support is horrible. I originally bought this TV direct from Samsung when it was on sale over Thanksgiving. After a couple days, I noticed the right side of the picture was darker than the rest. It started out where about 1/5 of the picture was darker, but every time I turned it on, the dark area would get bigger. I called Samsung support and they said they would send a technician out. I called the technician and he troubleshot it over the phone and told me a I would need a new screen I called Samsung back and told them I had the TV for less than a week and I wanted a replacement, not a new screen. Samsung finally relented and said they would send me an RMA to return the set and would refund me the money upon it's return. It took 2 weeks and at least 10 phone calls before I got the RMA. Each time I called Samsung, it took at least 30 minutes to get through and then another 10 minutes explaining the issue despite the fact that I gave them my open work order number. For some reason, the customer service reps do not add notes to the open tickets so there was no history of my complaints. I finally got a refund, not a credit, which what I really wanted so I could get the same TV at the sale price. By this time, Samsung was out of the model so I went to BB and ended up paying $300 more. Bottom line--Great TV but Samsung really needs to revamp their customer service dept.

Finally replaced an old LCD Samsung 52" LCD that still had great picture quality, but the literal heat the TV convected off was getting tiresome. I was shopping for Black Friday sales when I stumbled across this set. The Smart TV features are seamless and work really well with my Denon receiver, but it's the picture that really makes this set the best TV I have ever owned and seen. Didn't care for the curved sets and the understated look of the TV looks fantastic in the living room. The 4K upscaling and local dimming make every picture look amazing and Bluray's look incredible. Not sure if it can ever get better than this... it's well worth the extra money for this set... lower end 4K TV's don't come with the quad core chip which is necessary when processing 4K data.
