Great Picture, Loads of Features

Overall this is a fantastic new TV for our family room. One of the decisions that helped us go with the new Samsung Q900TS opposed to LG or Sony, was the greatly reduced glare. Our family room has about 6 large windows and the sunlight is great for natural lighting, but not great for TV screens that are affected by glare.
All of the new features like the incredible amount of apps, even Samsung TV+ is great to have, especially for the price of $FREE.
I did have an issue with Alexa interface and our Sonos Arc Sound bar that also has Alexa, which causes issues when asking Alexa to change the channel and the TV sometimes does and then it sometimes doesn't, while the Sonos sound bar comes back with "I don't understand that".
I changed the TV assistant to Bixby and kept the Sonos on Alexa that mesh with the other Sonos speakers we have and it works a lot better now. I also own a Samsung Note 20 Ultra and I like the screen sharing and other cool interfaces it has between the phone and the TV.
The picture quality is great and I really like the edgeless screen.
The last 65" tv I bought for this room was also a Samsung and it lasted about 8 years and was great. It was just time to update to a 4k or 8K and I haven't been disappointed.

I havent had a single issue amf the colors are vibrant and beautiful! Works with my Alexas, all smart home things with no issue. Couldnt find any pics with the picture on n is still packed from moving ut the picture is AMAZING!

Love this new tv for my family room. The picture and sound quality is very nice. I combined it with a home theater system for extra fun. It’s perfect even without the extra receiver and speakers.

All the research I did said do not buy this TV at least not until more 8k content comes out in about three years. I bought it anyway. Did I make the correct decision? YES.

As an avid Samsung TV customer, I was eager to get my hands on an 8K but I wanted to wait until the second generation model. It was well worth the wait. This TV makes everything look amazing. Admittedly, when I upgraded to 4K several years ago, and the TVs upconverted non 4K signal, I always thought it was a little clunky. That can’t be said with 8K. Samsung’s upconversion is flawless on just about every type of programming (it’s the sheer number of pixels on the panel). Colors are vivid and more lifelike and, frankly, it feels like you’re in the room with the characters you’re watching in movies or shows.
A couple of notes for folks:
- based on the layout of our 120 year old row house, we can’t mount this tv. With the speakers that surround the incredibly thin panel, Samsung made the decision to angle the tv back a little bit on the stand. It’s noticeable in the store but we haven’t noticed it in the house.
- we have this paired with the Sonos arc and the atmos is amazing with the eArc pass through. No worries about how to set it up — one cable connection. They also addressed the issue where the stand didn’t lift the tv up high enough to clear high-end soundbars.
- no oneconnect box this time around, but frankly I don’t miss it. It was just a clunky thing to have to find a home for.
- this years menus for the OS are finally a dark blue instead of the light, opaque menus of years past. It’s definitely an improvement. The dark makes it much easier to read things.
- stainless steel remote is back — if you’re spending this much on a tv, you better get a good remote.
- the tv does get warm — this is normal.
Again — I’m in awe of this TV. It’s better than an OLED with its darks (and it has much brighter colors) and there’s no risk of burn in. The infinity screen is also amazing and the biggest reason we stepped up from the q800.
I highly recommend this outstanding product.

Defective Screen Beware

Worst tv ever, I’m disappointed with Samsung and will never by Samsung again. After a year the screen started peeling horribly. Contacted Samsung and was told my warranty ran out and to buy a new one. Please do not buy Samsung after researching the issue it seems to be a widespread thing. If it happens within the warranty Samsung could possibly fix but if it’s even a month out then you have to pay it of pocket but the cost to do so is so high they recommend buying a new one. Don’t waste your money and time get an LG.

Got this tv delivered. As soon a I mounted my 65 inch tv I noticed the difference in resolution. At first the upscaling was kind of fuzzy. Then within 30 minutes the new adaptive learning analyzed all of the contents I was watching and everything amazingly cleared up. The tru 8k kicked in and now the picture is beautiful. This tv gives OLED a run for its money. Let the battle begin.

I've never had a good tv before I bought this TV a little over a year ago now. This TV has ruined other TVs for me because of how it blows every other tv I see out of the water because of how great it is fidelity-wise. Fidelity-wise it pairs perfect for if you have an apple tv 4k, PS5, etc. I would definitely get a soundbar + bass as well for optimal experience The only complaint I have is that this TV after a little bit of use gets really hot so if you put this TV in your bedroom like how I have it, but your room is small it'll really heat up the room if you don't have a fan going. Overall, I think it's worth it.

I love how this TV connects well with my Verizon FiOs TV box, didn't even have to set the controller like you do by pressing numbers and testing. Connects very responsive to my PS5 and XBox Series X. I must say the graphics are astounding compared to my 2018 Sony 4K OLED, which is still a great TV too. I also got the 900T soundbar 7.1 channel a must companion for a great TV. I just can't wait til PS5 unleashes and update for 8K to work on it instead of it currently (which is not bad at all), upscaling the 4K to near 8Kish. The HDR is very nice too and the refresh rate sold me @120hz, the OLED 4K of mine by Sony pales in comparison to this and it was around the same price and also was a 65". Got this when it was on sale for $1,000 off no regrets, even though it's a little pricey, but hey it's a Samsung, not a Sharp.

So Far, So Good

I bought this TV primarily for viewing cable TV and various streaming services. As the title mentions, so far, so good. I set it up with standard picture mode and a few adjustments in expert picture settings, most notably red/green to red 1, since the native picture had a bit of a "green" sheen to it at the 0 setting. I also turned off all the eco settings. Other than that the minimal adjustments were just for my viewing environment.
I also am running my cable TV thru a Denon AVR-X3700H receiver with a 5.2.4 setup (my house has ceiling speakers) and video out set to 8K enhanced.
The resulting picture is outstanding and compares more than favorably with my bedroom LG OLED TV although there is a little fading at angled veiwing. Besides 8K, the main reason for going Samsung is that LG does not support HBO MAX or ESPN Plus streaming.
The only reason I down rated 1 star is because the EARC port on the TV (HDMI 3) is not HDMI 2.1 (HDMI 4 is). Why this design is beyond me. Note that the new NEO series TVs have HDMI 2.1 in all ports, but I was not willing to spend big $ more to get that. I solved this issue thru my Denon receiver by using both 8K outputs to my TV -- EARC to HDMI 3 and the other output to HDMI 4. I watch the TV using HDMI 4, but get audio back in streaming thru HDMI 3.
Note that this is the 2020 model. If it is a must have then I recommend, otherwise wait until later in the year when the 2021 NEO models will invariable go on sale.

Great TV. Vivid colors and picture. The TV operates at a High Temperature and has a metal frame which gets hot enough to leave a burn impression on you. The only thing I do not like about the picture is if you are watching a movie with subtitles. in the dark the white text of the subtitles will create a bright illumination around the text disturbing you from the image.

Vivid color. Had to add a Samsung sound bar to up the quality of the sound. I thought such an expensive tv would have better sound quality. I love that the microphone brings me to all Chanel’s making it easy to navigate. I am also impressed with the quality of old black and white tv shows. Opens and brightens the color. I also can tweak the brightness and sharpness of the picture, which is important to me.

We love it. The picture is excellent. There was a slight scratch on the top right when we opened it, only visible when the screen is off. I called and they adjusted the price for us; honestly if it was any more visible we would have packed up the unit and returned it to the store (which would have been a production). So I'm glad they worked with us. Also, as a few other reviews mentioned, the "bezel" (which isn't an actual bezel and is more of a very think metal frame) on the bottom center of the TV looks as if it is separating from the LCD panel. It is completely flush on the at the corners; bellows out slightly towards the middle; and then is flush again. After looking at the unit in store it seems it could just been a poor design/design flaw.
Again, slight annoyance, but you really have to be ON TOP of the TV to see it. like closely examining the unit within inches from your face.

It was easy to set up and has a nice picture and sound. It gets extremely hot on the bottom when it’s on. I spent over 7 hours on hold, call backs, being transferred, disconnected and 3 attempts at scheduling service with no results. “Total tech” gets 1 star at best! I miss the old Geek Squad. My next move will be to drive an hour and try to talk to a real person. Good TV so far, but I’m concerned about longevity with the overheating problem.
