Great Picture, Loads of Features

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Features, PictureOverall this is a fantastic new TV for our family room. One of the decisions that helped us go with the new Samsung Q900TS opposed to LG or Sony, was the greatly reduced glare. Our family room has about 6 large windows and the sunlight is great for natural lighting, but not great for TV screens that are affected by glare. All of the new features like the incredible amount of apps, even Samsung TV+ is great to have, especially for the price of $FREE. I did have an issue with Alexa interface and our Sonos Arc Sound bar that also has Alexa, which causes issues when asking Alexa to change the channel and the TV sometimes does and then it sometimes doesn't, while the Sonos sound bar comes back with "I don't understand that". I changed the TV assistant to Bixby and kept the Sonos on Alexa that mesh with the other Sonos speakers we have and it works a lot better now. I also own a Samsung Note 20 Ultra and I like the screen sharing and other cool interfaces it has between the phone and the TV. The picture quality is great and I really like the edgeless screen. The last 65" tv I bought for this room was also a Samsung and it lasted about 8 years and was great. It was just time to update to a 4k or 8K and I haven't been disappointed.

Constant 'tweaking'
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Installed yesterday...still playing with video settings to get to my liking. My 2015 Samsung 4K was a LOT easier to set to the 'sweet spot'. The picture is extremely crisp, but dimly lit scenes are very dimly presented, even after cranking up brightness to max & turning off Ambient Mode. I've read that the 8K chip requires time to adapt & learn from user preferences - we'll see. The 'minimalist' remote takes some getting used to, I've not downloaded the update for my Harmony 650 yet. Shall update after a few weeks of use & 'tweaking'.

So far, SO good!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5This is an excellent solution for my sun-splashed viewing room. Lots of screen brightness possible. Upscaling ability is very good, too. I do find the Remote device a little tricky. The up/down volume button is too sensitive and does a “mute” instead, depending how you touch the control.

Absolutely stunning picture

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Color, Design, Ease of useAs an avid Samsung TV customer, I was eager to get my hands on an 8K but I wanted to wait until the second generation model. It was well worth the wait. This TV makes everything look amazing. Admittedly, when I upgraded to 4K several years ago, and the TVs upconverted non 4K signal, I always thought it was a little clunky. That can’t be said with 8K. Samsung’s upconversion is flawless on just about every type of programming (it’s the sheer number of pixels on the panel). Colors are vivid and more lifelike and, frankly, it feels like you’re in the room with the characters you’re watching in movies or shows. A couple of notes for folks: - based on the layout of our 120 year old row house, we can’t mount this tv. With the speakers that surround the incredibly thin panel, Samsung made the decision to angle the tv back a little bit on the stand. It’s noticeable in the store but we haven’t noticed it in the house. - we have this paired with the Sonos arc and the atmos is amazing with the eArc pass through. No worries about how to set it up — one cable connection. They also addressed the issue where the stand didn’t lift the tv up high enough to clear high-end soundbars. - no oneconnect box this time around, but frankly I don’t miss it. It was just a clunky thing to have to find a home for. - this years menus for the OS are finally a dark blue instead of the light, opaque menus of years past. It’s definitely an improvement. The dark makes it much easier to read things. - stainless steel remote is back — if you’re spending this much on a tv, you better get a good remote. - the tv does get warm — this is normal. Again — I’m in awe of this TV. It’s better than an OLED with its darks (and it has much brighter colors) and there’s no risk of burn in. The infinity screen is also amazing and the biggest reason we stepped up from the q800. I highly recommend this outstanding product.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between this and Samsung - 65" Class - Q90T Series - 4K UHD TV - Smart - LED - with HDR. It's between these two for me please provide as much insight. Thanks in advance!
Asked by Ryan.
- A:Answer RYRY - The Q90T is 4K and has 8 million pixels on the screen no matter what size the screen, and the Q900TS is 8K, which has 33 million pixels no matter what size the screen. The bigger the screen, the more pixels, and one of the reasons why 8K is recommended. The Q900TS does 8K upscaling that includes Machine and Deep Learning - Texture Creation. Noise Reduction, Edge Restoration, and Fine-Detail Restoration. The Q90T has 4K upscaling - which is good -but does not include the Deep Learning that offers Fine-Detail Restoration. The 65Q90T has Direct Full Array 16X, Quantum HDR 16X, and a Quantum Processor 4K. The 65Q900TS has Direct Full Array 32X, Quantum HDR 24X, and Quantum Processor 8K. The Q900TS also has an Infinity Screen - near invisible bezel - it's beautiful! They both offer Smart TV Powered by Tizen, Universal Guide, Ambient Mode+, Multiple Voice Assistants, TV Plus, Mobile View, Samsung OneRemote, and are SmartThings Compatible. Hope this explains the differences for you! ^Cris

Q: QuestionDoes this TV adjust to the settings of the show you are watching? What I mean by that is i have a Samsung 4K TV and unless your watching in 4k or 1080 the quality of the picture is horrible, so does it adjust to the viewing of the screen?
Asked by PROFFESSIONAL.
- A:Answer Hi BeeRMaN- The 65Q900TS has Machine Learning and Deep Learning upscaling. This includes Texture Creation, Noise Reduction, Edge Restoration, and Fine-Detail Restoration. Upscales any content you watch to 8K/4K Content. Every video game, every sport, and every movie. This is automatic. The TV also has Adaptive Picture which Mmeasures room lighting and automatically adjusts TV brightness so customers enjoy a more comfortable viewing experience in both bright and dark rooms. Adaptive Picture also adjusts for detail and contrast. The adjustments include Very Bright , Bright, Normal and Dark. ^Cris

Q: QuestionDoes the 900TS series work with the No Gap mounts? or ONLY VESA?
Asked by Oli.
- A:Answer Hey Oli - The Q900TS does not work with the No Gap Mount however there are a variety of mounts that are VESA 400mm x 300mm on BestBuy.com that would work. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?st=tv+wall+mounts&_dyncharset=UTF-8&_dynSessConf=&id=pcat17071&type=page&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=&sp=&qp=&list=n&af=true&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960&keys=keys . ^Jason

Q: QuestionCan this tv be mounted inside a bookcase frame? Or does it need side clearances? If so how much? Thsnks.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi, When you install your TV, maintain a distance of at least 4 inches (10 cm) between the TV and other objects (walls, cabinet sides, etc.) to ensure proper ventilation. Failing to maintain proper ventilation may result in a fire or a problem with the product caused by an increase in its internal temperature. I hope this helps! ^Scott
