I purchased this SSD after researching the specs. Mainly appealed to the read/write speeds for HD video editing. I only installed the windows OS on the drive and all other files were stored on separate HDD or SSDs as part of the system. Needless to say, I've had 2 crashes from bad sectors and had to completely wipe and re-install. I have ran about 12TB of data across (according to the Samsung Magic software) this device but I would hardly say that should be overkill for a 2 year period. So anyway, Samsung Magic software says drive is in good health but I'm back to boot with blue screens and repair again. I'm very technical and customize my 4k video edit machines so I'm not a novice here in performance and setup. My expectations for a "PRO" version are a lot higher and so I would not recommend this SSD.

I'm running one of these in an HP laptop with great results. Like the 840 before it these have "good enough" performance that surpasses other limitations. Like all SSD drives, no heat, silent, energy efficient, and much quicker than a mechanical HDD.

I purchased this SSD mainly because it is an enterprise class SSD. I work in the IT field and know that when an item is rated as enterprise class, it will be reliable and with a 10 year warranty it shows that this has been tested to last at least that long. Maybe by the time the warranty expires, PC's may be a thing of the past. The R/W specs are right on the money - so if you want a fast SSD, this is the one to get.

Upgraded my C Drive from a mechanical 7200rpm HDD to this SSD drive.Very fast boot times in windows, no noise, low heat, very light as mechanical drives are very dense/heavy, and NO DEFRAGGING. Works in a standard PC as well as a laptop or All-in-one machine. I am very impressed with this drives performance would recommend this 850 PRO drive in the 256GB or 512GB versions for PC and laptops.

Super easy installation and performs flawlessly. Way better than the original 250gig drive that came in my laptop.

This is one of the best SSD drive around in term on performance and reliability. This is a very fast drive. It is much faster than a regular disk drive. You will notice a performance gain in your heavy duty software. Overall, a great buy for the price.

This product made my Toshiba C55-A lighting fast. It takes me less then 20 sec. to start, sign in and get on line. Down loads take only 1/3 of the time. Very easy to install but it does not come with a transfer cable which I purchase separately.

We replaced the regular hard drive in our laptop with this and Windows boot up time has improved tremendously. We also notice that the cooling fan kicked in much less frequent, and applications open up faster than before.

Great design and highly reliable. Easy install and reaches benchmarks posted on the specs. If you have a Mac, however, Samsung Magician does not work. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Changed my boot time from over a minute to around five seconds. It really will completely change your computer and is by far the best upgrade you can give yourself. The software it comes with make it very easy to install and transfer your data from your HDD to your SSD.I did buy a little USB enclosure for my old HDD and I was all set. Installation was easy as was imaging my hard drive with the software that came with this SSD. Very quiet and very fast! I love this drive!

Samsung's Pro and Evo series SSD's have been simply owning the SSD market. The 850 series already has improved performance and lifespan over the 840 series, but selling at nearly half the price makes for a very sexy buy. I have had the 840 pro for a while now and love it. For as long as I have had the 850 pro, it has been great too. I have had 0 issues with these drives, they work great and applications load fast.

You can always trust Samsung Pro drives, and this is not exception. Extremely fast and reliable.

Have had this in a machine for about 2 months now and can say i have had no issues as of yet and boot time is lightning fast now vs when i was using the old SATA drive.

My laptop was working fine until last week and then i started hearing clinking sound from hard disk. Then i realize i need new HDD for it. I went through some reviews on SSD and came to know that Samsung 850 evo Pro is really a Pro. I used the Data migration software which came with it but i was getting error for fragmentation issue. Not sure if that is because of my bad HDD or software issue. So i used my Recovery disk to reinstall windows and I'm really happy with perfomance. It boot pretty fast. My last Hard disk was hybrid and it was fast too but this one is real deal. You need just 10 sec and you are on IE or in your any application. I'm also using other application like light-room and Photoshop. It is pretty fast.

I replaced my hard drive in my macbook pro with this SSD and it works perfectly. My only problem is that I should of got more GB's. I would recommend this to everyone if you're trying to save money and not purchase a new laptop.

Purchased this SSD for an old slow laptop, my kids kept complaining how slow it was. Now they asked what I did to it. Programs open quicker and lags are gone. Very happy with this purchase, I saved money on a new laptop by adding the ssd.

I replaced old drive in my Toshiba laptop which I gave to my grandson. It was easy to install and made the laptop work as fast as my new laptop. Grandson uses it to play Minecraft. He loves it.

Excellent Drive, performs as expected. If you want to breath new life into a 3+ year old computer, replace the Hard Disk Drive with this SSD and maybe double your ram, and you'll have a computer that runs like new.

Heard about it first from my brother-in-law. When my old hard drive started failing I did some research and the final two were PNY and Samsung. Easy to install and less chance of failure. Glad I bought it.
