Samsung makes some of the best consumer level SSDs you can buy. This one is great. It's great to add additional storage to a computer or to upgrade from a spinning disk drive. Especially good value if you can catch it on sale.

I’ve had four of these so far and have zero complaints. They’re fast enough for my needs, inexpensive, and have always reliable SSD’s. Also if you’re looking to copy over from one hard drive to another, then Samsung migration software makes it super easy. And Samsung magician software is nice for monitoring the health and temperature of your SSD.

Speeds are as advertised. Ive purchased at least 100 Samsung SSDs for my desktops and server caches, and for clients that needed their hard drives replaced. Despite often being more expensive, i have never had a Samsung SSD arrive DOA. WD Blue…. its been a 50/50 chance. You get what you pay for, and this is the perfect SSD if your 2.5” hard drive is causing your desktop to throttle to unusable speeds. Great simple 2.5” SATA drive.

I was struggling with my 5 year old laptop at a point, I was not opening that at all. That was budget laptop having moderate specs (having standard old HDD only) that makes the machine feels like almost 7-8 years old. I almost forgot how frequently I open it (may be 3 times in a month!!). It was severe pain in the neck. Now, I found this from Best Buy at a deal price and installed it by myself. What a turn around this become. This beast ssd alone turns my machine alive. I practically opening it now almost each day to perform my regular task. From Booting up to screen ready (where I can open first app), it takes about 5 seconds which earlier was 10 mins. Opening multiple apps or browser tabs is also buttery smooth which was impossible earlier. My windows HP laptop reinvigorated again, thanks to Samsung beast SSD! There could be other ssd with equal or better quality, but I have not tested them out. I can definitely recommend this.

I bought this SSD as a replacement for my 2012 Mac mini. I now have 2x's the storage and a mush fast Mac mini. Once installed, the SSD had zero issues with my Mac OS operating system. I recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade from a standard hard drive to the much faster and more reliable Samsung SSD unit.

Samsung SSDs are simply the best on the market. Yes, 500GB is more than 90-95% of computer users need, but the higher capacity (above 250GB) doesn't cost much more, and in theory, due to load leveling, it doubles the amount of data that can be written to the device before it wears out. The other reason for buying a large storage capacity is that Samsung devices will probably last longer than your computer, so you can use this device on your next computer or refurb a friend's computer with it. (You might have noticed I used this same review for a Samsung M.2 SSD, but some computers I refurb don't have M.2 slots, so I keep some SATA SSD's on hand to speed up older computers.)

One the best SSD's on the market to revive old laptops or add storage to an existing PC. Plus, the Samsung Magician software is the best on the market to manage not only this SSD but all installed HD's in your machine.

Fast and effective for what I needed and super easy to install I have no previous knowledge of building computers and I slid this is super easy with no issues.

WoW Made my old computer super fast. Very happy with speed and additional storage. Service visit with a very knowledgeable person and told us what needed to be done. . Also happy with joining 'Geek squad for any future repair on all other equipment. The price was very reasonable and gives us a feeling of security as we are in our 80's and our knowledge doe's not keep up Technolgy.

Got it for a bit off for a friends computer i was building, it was his only request and he has absolutely no complaints. I trust samsung for my ssd's almost exclusively and would recommend this drive to new builders.

I really liked this 500gb internal Samsung SSD. My laptop used to run very slow but after installing this SSD it has become very fast.Thank you .

I bought this drive for my old Lenovo desktop, which kept running slower and slower. There was a dramatic improvement. So 5 stars for the drive but 1 star for Samsung's product support and software. A reasonable person who installs an internal SSD would expect to be able to make it bootable. But neither Samsung's "Magician" software nor their migration software could do that. Samsung's tech support said that since the computer wasn't a Samsung, they couldn't help me; I'd have to contact Lenovo. Lenovo wouldn't help because the machine is obsolete. I tried installing Windows on this drive from an install flash drive. It would boot but didn't work right; there were long delays with the circle-the-drain symbol on the screen, and it wouldn't shut down completely. Finally I cloned the old drive to it with Macrium Reflect, and, after two tries with the rescue disc, it worked and it's been happily ever after.

Very easy installation, but setup required additional actions. Would be helpful if a printed copy of the required actions was included. You must go look them up. Works GREAT, very fast. Does not slow down the computer.

I had to replace a failed hard disk drive, so selected this SSD and reinstalled Windows on the PC. What's to say? It works, of course it is much faster than a HDD even though it is SATA instead of an M.2 or anything.

My go to SSD hard drive. Samsung SSDs can't be beat for a consumer grade drive. These guys are reliable and the increased speeds over a spinner is crazy. I typically buy these on Amazon but at times Best Buys price and convenience is better.

Good harddrive. Nice cool color. Performance and speed is much better that ivo 960. Good price. Nice quality. Best buy like usual the best.

Bought 4 of these to upgrade my pcs from spinning hard drives. Good solid SSD drive with great specs and speed, price avg for the drive . Migration software is also a great feature. However I had one Lenovo AIO pc that no matter what I tried the cloned drive would not boot . But an old I7 1st gen that was taking 4-5 minutes to boot now is booting and capable of running any app in about 45 seconds.
