After some research online we removed the battery and wiped cleaned and reinserted. All is working well now. Samsung needs better quality control. They are plenty loud and work as advertised!

It's a bit slow to update on the map, at least for me. Would definitely take you a while to track it down as you would have to start at the last known recorded location, which could be miles from where it actually is. So not sure where you would go from there. If it's in range and connected, no problem.

The SmartTag2 utilizes the SmartThings Find network which consists of many other "findable" Galaxy devices that work as beacons by sending out signals. Once these beacons detect a signal from a device that is being sought out by its owner, they will relay that information to the SmartThings Find network; allowing you to see the approximate location of where your lost SmartTag 2 last transmitted its signal. It wont find your stuff like a gps tracker can. And there are a lot fewer people to ping it as compared to an air tag. But it will get you close enough most of the time to find your stuff. The phone ring option doesn't always work. Not sure whats up with that. Not super often, butaround 1 in 15 times it just wont ring my phone.
