Customers are saying

Customers recognize the POWERbot Essential's excellent cleaning performance and powerful suction, frequently praising its effectiveness. Many appreciate its relatively quiet operation and ease of use, although some users find the navigation system needs improvement and that its height restricts access to certain areas. The app functionality also received negative feedback from some customers. Overall, the robot vacuum receives positive feedback for its cleaning capabilities but has room for improvement in navigation and app design.

I really enjoy this product, every day at 2 PM it goes off and cleans my entire downstairs in about an hour and a half . A few things I don't like is that it gets stuck from time to time in certain areas of my downstairs around kitchen table or dining room table legs sometimes it gets stuck on the rocking chair. But I do like is the flexibility to use my phone and start the vacuum if I'm coming home or if I'm going out the Wi-Fi on it seems to be pretty good it does however from time to time not pair with my Wi-Fi at the house for it drops the signal . I do enjoy however how powerful it is and it does also work on carpets pretty well because it does have actual vacuum power not just sweeping as the other vacuum robots do.

    THIS VACUUM SUCKS

Very powerful suction. Pulled grit out of the carpet that the Kenmore canister with a power head missed. Takes the long way home and wanders around a bit but does eventually vacuum everywhere. No flying car yet but his is the Jetson's vacuum cleaner! It has the cat puzzled and mesmerized but he seems to be adjusting to his new friend.

This little robot is better that expected. It has good suction, gobbles up dust and loose particles quite well. It's auto clean mode is pretty good at determining what has been cleaned and navigating around furniture. I would say it is worth the cost. The only problem, I could never get the Smart Thing mobile app to work. It also wants to go through walls when you send it home, it's fun to watch it find home, at times I manually direct it back or just carry it.

The Samsung powerbot has been worth every penny. It does an amazing job! We have two big dogs that shed at least another dog each day. When we moved into a new home we wanted to get a handle on the hair immediately. Even though the floor looks clean Sammy picks up a ton of hair and dirt. It has even cleaned up the dogs paw prints after being out in the muddy rain. It is not too loud and he does occasionally get stuck but not very often. He finds his way back to base without any issues. I highly recommend purchasing this item. We are very very happy we did.

We really enjoy having a robotic vacuum, it sucks really good but for the price, it needs more. It gets stuck often, won't go over floor vents, and after having one replacement already in a year, I'm not sure how great it is, definantly better than our neato but maybe not due to price

Great Suction and deep clean. Gets confused

Works well and has excellent suction, but tends to bump into a lot of furniture or get stuck in corners. The run time is only about an hour, but the total charge time is about 3 hours. It is a bit heavy for a robot vac, but the weight does seem to help it clean deeper into the carpet. Overall, works well and can be controlled by the app on my phone from wherever I am. I can activate it when away from home and when I return, the floors are clean. Really does well with pet hair and the filter is easy to clean. Simply empty the canister, wash/rinse the filter in a sink, allow it to dry and it's ready to go again. If offered an extended warranty when purchasing, I would definitely recommend it. This vac is complex and I've read repairs can be costly.

This vacuum really cleans... And I mean really has good suction! I have 10 little dogs and it has kept my house CLEAN! The 4 stars is because it always seems to get lost and wheels stuck on various things and unable to get out of corners at times.

Picks up a lot of dirt and dog hair. We run every day on schedule and have not had any significant problems. It does occasionally get stuck between the legs of our dining room chairs. Most of our surface is travertine and moves around freely. Unit has found its way back to charger 99% of the time. Purchased on sale for $495. Just hopeful it continues to work as it is now.

All thought the powerbot has good suction power, suction means nothing if it can't get to the dirt! The power bot is odd it will not go across air vents, can't get under furniture or clean along kick boards. So I purchased a roomba 880 which has no problem with the above mentioned.

Awesome...if it would last longer than two months

We bought the first powerbot back in May for our upper level and after a week we loved it so much we bought a second one for our lower level. It cleaned very well and we were amazed, if not disgusted with how much dirt and dog hair it managed to pick up every day! The dirt container is fairly large and we emptied it every other day or so...whether it needed it or not. We have mostly wood floors with a large area rug and carpet in the bedrooms on both levels...the vacuum does s good job transitioning between the two surfaces. They got stuck behind furniture occasionally and sometimes needed assistance finding their way back to the charger (usually after sucking up something that required a power down), but not often enough to be annoying. They work fantastic for about two months, and then the error codes kick in. The first vacuum insisted the left wheel had a foreign object stuck in it...it didn't. We checked it multiple times and cleaned it thoroughly but it would always shut off about 30 seconds into cleaning insisting there was something caught in its left wheel. So luckily we had purchased the 4 year protection plan and went back to Best Buy to exchange it for a new model. The replacement worked fine. Then the model on our lower level started with the error code...this time insisting it had something in its right wheel. Same story...ended up replacing that one. New one worked fine...for about two months. We went through the same thing with each new model...and ended up taking them back for replacements. The new replacement models insisted there was something stuck in its cleaning brush...we cleaned the vacuums pretty regularly and made sure there were no strings or objects stopping it from doing its job. Needless to say we are now on our third set of replacement models. As long as Best Buy continues to honor the warranty we will keep replacing them...besides the error code malfunction they do an amazing job keeping the house clean. I just wish Samsung would figure out why they are malfunctioning:(

    Good Vacuum; Terrible App

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This vacuum will never replace your full-sized unit, but it does a pretty good job of keeping the pet hair under control. I don't have big clumps of hair under the couch or beds anymore, and the kitchen floor is remarkably crumb free. Each day I empty a fairly substantial clump of hair and dust into the trash, so it's definitely helping. Like other reviewers, I've learned how to prepare the house when I leave, ensuring cords and other items are cleared. The vacuum does get stuck in certain areas (under chair legs and between the toilet and sink is popular), but I'd estimate that it completes its program and makes it back to its charger 5 out of 7 days. I've given up on the app, however. Doesn't work on an iPad, nor can I get it to work with my android phone. I think that with robotic vacuums, you get what you pay for, and while this unit is more expensive than much of the competition, it seems to do a much better job than them as well.

Needs work, a lot of work

Ok so this vacuum has great suction, BUT, if you have rugs with a pattern it won't work! Literally thinks it is at the edge of stairs or at a wall and won't work, just keeps stopping. Also doesn't get anywhere near baseboards or walls leaving a complete strip of unvacuumed carpet. ( roomba has a spinning wheel that cleans this area and does it quite well in comparison to not at all ). Then there is the holding bin, it's large enough, but the bin rarely fills because the hole to let it fill the bin is too small and clogs before almost anything gets to the bin, meaning I have to empty it much more than I should and also have to clean the undercarriage more often too as the dirt and hair backs up under the vacuum. The app is virtually useless. Has a hard time finding it's charging dock and usually drags it away from the wall making it almost impossible to find it again. Gets stuck on furniture forcing it to quit. Fix the problems and this is a great vacuum but until then I'd use the roomba which also has flaws but smaller ones ( they both get stuck and they both have a hard time finding their dock for charging. ) combined together would probably make the perfect vacuum robot !! Oh this vacuum also has problems with high pile rugs also textured rugs like you would put by your front door won't work with them totally goes around any lip or bump leaving the area not cleaned. Very disappointed and although I still use the product I have to use my upright vacuum to finish the job. When I can afford to I will upgrade to the new roomba. But right now I have to go find the vacuum I just heard the tone for I'm stuck.

    Foors Are Always Barefootable Clean!

    Posted .

I did a lot of research online -- via Best Buy, Amazon, CNET and Consumer Reports. Ultimately, we chose this Samsung over the Roomba 980 based on reviews and the Consumer Reports review. Sam starts his rounds every day about noon. He's still learning his way around the house. He likes to clean around the bar stool legs, but he gets stuck in them about every third or fourth cleaning. When that happens, he'll cry for help for a while and eventually go to sleep if nobody comes to help. Sometimes he runs out of battery before making it home; and sometimes it takes him a while to figure out where he lives when it's time to go home, but I chalk it up to his not being perfect or a human. He's a computer and I figure eventually he'll remember -- or not. When that happens -- about every second or third day -- I just pick him up and take him home. Absolutely no big deal when I consider that I didn't have to get the upright out and spend the time and energy vacuuming! We have two cats and I guess about 15-1800 sq. ft. to clean. He does a fantastic job with cat hair and tracked cat litter. One of our cats ignores Sam and the other one is truly freaked out (still) by his presence when he is working. Sam finds his way into every room where the door is open and vacuums in a way that is organized and not sporadic (which you can see in the vacuumed carpet patterns). He is too tall to fit under our couches/recliners, so I sweep under and behind them, as well as in corners or tight spots every now and then, He goes from different floor materials (tile, carpet, memory foam mat in the kitchen, door mat) with no problem, however, he does struggle a bit to clean the area carpet in the living room. It has a table covering a lot of it, and I think between that and the plushness of the carpet, Sam kinda gets confused. He tries though. And, if it looks like he's missing it more than not, no biggie -- I have an upright I can use. Again, I'm not expecting perfection from a robot. He is expensive. I was lucky to catch a sale and to have found a promo code, but I will tell you, after using him for about 4-5 weeks, I think it is the best many hundreds of dollars we have spent on one item in a long time. The floors (mostly tile and hardwood) are ALWAYS barefoot walkable clean and cat hair is GREATLY minimized! This is evidenced by how much cat hair continues to collect in the dirt/dust storage bin every day or so. We love Sam and wouldn't want to live without him! Treat yourself. You will not regret it.

Does not reach corners and cannot return to base

The setup went smooth and I was able to pair it with android app. But when it started, it started moving diagonally. When I checked online, many ppl had same issues as the tiles were installed diagonally. Second issue was that it did not reach any corners. And at last it never made it back to charging base. Had to return it.
