Worked great as an emergency backup location for important data. Really easy to setup and use. Has the ability to provide a password lock but haven’t used that yet. Fast transfer, small device did exactly what I needed.

Great little drive but can't be it's best on M1.

Great little drive. I know it should be getting around 1Gb/s transfer rate but I'm only getting 650 MB/sec on my M1 MacBook Pro. I'm confident that this is a MacBook issue and hope it will be resolved soon. Until then, I'm still happy to have the 650! All in all, the size, speed, and reliability of this drive make it a no-brainer for a new MacBook.

The Samsung T7 2TB SSD is incredibly fast and compact. File transfers are smooth and much quicker than a traditional external drive. The build quality feels premium, and the hardware encryption adds extra peace of mind for sensitive data. Easy to use with both USB-C and USB-A cables included. Highly recommended for backups and everyday use.

Great external fast storage option for anything. T7 only improves upon the T5. Possibly my 5th now, have several T5's and 1 other T7. I tried the sandisk first before buying this last t7, but within a week it had unreadable errors/bad sectors, and my macbook would only allow read only. Really wierd, and certain its a one off. But went back to Best Buy and returned it for the samsung. Wanted to try something new, Samsungs have impressed and i have a bunch, lesson learned, stay with tried and true. Read/write speeds are fast. Gets warm, sometimes really warm, when workiing off of it for hours. Likely throttles a bit, but havent noticed. Works well for dumping video vides from an event, and then working off them (along with scratch drive) in FFP or Premiere Pro. Dont notice a difference in anything between local SSD and this external. $250 isnt cheap, but 250 for 2tb of fastish ssd, is going rate for drive itself, let along the enclosure and controller this usit gives. A+, have already and likely will, continue to buy.

I really love this external hard drive! It came with 2 connector cords, one for a regular USB-A and one for a USB-C. It will be really helpful to have options depending on my computer needs. It has worked really well so far, and I love how spacious it is! It is also very small and easy to transport. It fits in the palm of my hand!

This drive is very fast and the build quality is great. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a small portable SSD solution. It's fast enough for me to work on Final Cut Pro projects right from the drive without any performance issues. I had a T5 drive previously and this is even thinner with better performance.

**5-Star Review for Samsung T7 1TB External USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD** I recently purchased the Samsung T7 1TB External USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD, and I couldn't be more impressed! Here are a few reasons why I’m giving it a five-star rating: 1. **Incredible Speed**: With read speeds of up to 1050 MB/s and write speeds of 1000 MB/s, transferring large files has never been faster. It significantly cuts down the time I used to spend waiting for backups and file transfers. 2. **Compact and Durable Design**: The sleek, lightweight design makes it easy to carry around in my bag. Plus, the aluminum body feels sturdy and is resistant to shocks, which gives me peace of mind when I'm on the go. 3. **User-friendly Setup**: Setting up the T7 was a breeze. It was recognized instantly by both my Windows and Mac systems, and I didn't need to deal with any complicated installations or formatting. 4. **Security Features**: I appreciate the built-in password protection and AES 256-bit encryption. It adds an extra layer of security for my sensitive data, which is essential in today’s digital world. 5. **Versatile Compatibility**: The T7 works seamlessly across various devices, including PCs, Macs, and even gaming consoles. It’s perfect for storing games, media, and important files without worrying about running out of space. Overall, the Samsung T7 1TB External SSD is a fantastic investment for anyone looking for speed, portability, and reliability. Highly recommended!

As far as I can see, there are no problems with this product. I do audio recording with logic pro x. It’s fast and very reliable. I had returned a sandisc SSD because i got several HDD error messages. No problems with this one!

My favorite external hard drives! Small and easy to transport when I'm on the go, and I've dropped a few of them and they've all survived the drop too (though I don't recommend dropping them, lol). I use them to store high-res JPEGs and RAW images and they work great in combination with my Macbook Pro.

Size is great, just wish SSD pricing would come down like the rest of storage has. This is really small and portable, but it feels like it should be treated very delicately to me. Speed is fast and appreciate having a spare 2TB with my internal 1TB SSD since editing videos takes up so much space.

Sustained Speeds As Advertised. Never Gets Hot.

When bench testing, the drive read & wrote at advertised speeds using MacBook Air M4. Under sustained, heavy loads, the drive gets warm, but never did it get too hot to comfortably touch. Note that I did not install the included software. I formatted it for use with MacOS Time Machine and it works fine. The price at Best Buy was very competitive. Shipping was nearly instantaneous. One odd thing is that the manual never mentions when the LED should be illuminated, flashing or off. Occasionally, when I know it is writing or reading, there is no light or the light is solid. Even when the computer is off, sometimes the LED is lit. Beats me!
