A great little hard drive. Great write speeds in a small form factor with good heat distribution.

The Samsung T9 4TB has been a game changer for handling large video projects. Transfer speeds are consistently close to the advertised numbers — moving 100GB of footage takes just a few minutes. It stays cool even during longer transfers, and the rubberized exterior feels durable enough to handle travel and daily use.
The compact size is great for slipping into a camera bag, and it works seamlessly across Mac and Windows with the included cables. My only gripe is the price, but considering the speed, reliability, and capacity, it feels justified.
If you work with big files like 4K/8K video or RAW photos, this SSD is absolutely worth it. It’s fast, tough, and gives you peace of mind knowing your projects are safe.

Bought this bc my lg gram kept struggling with adobe creative cloud apps, was hoping it would give me some time before a laptop upgrade is non-negotiable and so far so good. Had chatGPT guide me through all the settings in the apps and in my system, and its definitley made a very noticeable difference to my workflow. My laptop doesnt get bogged down and almost melt down from the heat, and the t9 hardly gets warm at all. I without it i was constantly getting held up due to apps crashing, super slow processing. So far ive had none of those issues. The only thing id change about it is i wish it would attach to the back of the screen to stay out of the way. Very happy with it!

Bought one for travel use. Fast process and reliable on both of my ios devices, phone and laptop. Eeven my gopro recorded video works. I record videos and takes lots of photos and at the end of day, I just transfer load everything on my T9 with ease. Retrieving is of the same fast process. Plug and play. Worth the price tag. Highly recommend it.

The Samsung T9 4TB SSD is a game-changer for anyone needing high-speed, reliable storage. With transfer speeds up to 2,000MB/s, it effortlessly handles large file transfers, making it ideal for content creators and professionals. Its rugged design offers drop resistance up to 9.8 feet, ensuring durability on the go. The drive stays cool under pressure, thanks to its advanced thermal management. While the rubberized exterior can attract dust, it's a minor trade-off for the performance and security features, including AES 256-bit hardware encryption. A top-tier choice for those seeking speed and reliability in a portable package

I love this hard drive! Super fast and nice and small and durable! I would buy multiples! Biggest plus is that it works seamlessly between my PC and my Mac.

This is a great product I bought on the excellent advice of my Best Buy Salesman. Good capacity, high speed, super compact and convenient. I like to get my Best Buy products in person because the location is convenient and the sales help always terrific, which helps me avoid the risks and errors of online purchasing.

Blazing-fast speeds, massive 4TB storage, and rock-solid reliability. Transfers are incredibly quick, the build feels premium and durable, and it’s small enough to carry anywhere. Works flawlessly with my devices and handles large files without breaking a sweat. Samsung absolutely nailed performance, quality, and portability with the T9. Highly recommend!

Hard to write a review on something simple but I’ll give it a go. This Hard drive does it’s just so well it puts all other hard drives to shame. Uploads so fast… plays so fast… it even has really good software that makes it easy to see how it’s performing. I would definitely suggest it to anyone.

This is a GREAT external drive, and fast if you connect it to a Windows PC, just note as I also connected it to a Mac and does not support the USB standard the T9 uses to double the speed of data transfer, so if you are going to use it with a Mac you could use a T7 which is slightly cheaper.

This little drive is a marvel. It's really fast when reading/writing large files. Remember that copying many small files is never as fast. It's totally silent but does have a blue "access" light to let you know when activity is taking place. Gets a little warm but not bad. Very lightweight and portable. Great for "offsite" backup storage of important data.

This is my first SSD and I can already see the benefits. Its much more efficient copying files over from my desktop. This hard drive is nice and small, soft on the outside, and perfect. Samsung was also offering a great deal at the time and Capital One Shopping was offering a great reward. I've purchased samsung harddrives in the past and never had a problem with them over many years.

Great portable drive for a great price. Measuring sequential read speeds of 1,101 MB/s and sequential write speeds of 1,066 MB/s through front panel USB 3.1. In addition, it has a surprisingly small form factor for the amount of storage, and is much more convenient to take on the go than an external HDD. I am very satisfied with the price point and performance of this product. In addition, the rubberized case makes it feel rugged and secure were you to happen to drop it. Product includes the drive, one USB C to C cable, and one USB A to C cable.

Needed a high speed backup drive and ability to move large data files from one computer to another. This device provided great transfer rates and easily switched between computers

I love the T9. It is durable, dependable and extremely handy for transferring date in the field or at home. Excellent tranfer speed. I will definitely purchase another.

The Samsung T9 is fast, reliable, and well-built. Speeds are excellent if your device supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, and the rugged design feels solid. It’s a bit pricier and larger than some alternatives, and the rubber finish collects dust, but overall it’s a great portable SSD for big file transfers and creative work.

I needed an external drive for my iPhone 15 Pro max to record ProRes 4K60. All other modes of video on the iPhone record internally.
I had a Samsung T7 2tb ssd drive and tried it first. It worked perfectly with no lag in the video. I tried a 6m (almost 10ft!) thunderbolt 4 cable and it still worked well with no problems. I found this 4tb ssd drive and bought it. Just plugged it in and again it perfectly worked even with a 6m thunderbolt 4 cable. This means I can keep the drive in my coat pocket or a backpack while plugged into the iPhone. The iPhone sees the drives so there is nothing to do to use it. You can view the drive in the files app on the phone. I tried copy/paste from the Photos app to move a few videos to the drive. It was quick. Useful for moving large files to your computer. You can also move files from your computer to your iPhone. With the empty 4tb drive the iPhone says it can record 289 minutes of ProRes 4k60 video. Plenty of room. There was no noticeable battery drain on the iPhone either. I did test the cable it came with versus the thunderbolt 4 cable. There was only a slight difference in speed, not enough to require the thunderbolt 4 cable. A one minute video comes out to 13gb which is why an external drive is necessary to record 4k60 ProRes.
Overall, I’m happy with the performance and ease of use.
