I used this to back up file from my Windows 7 computer in preparation for my transition to a new Windows 10 computer. I chose solid state because it will not likely ever fail like older disc drives can and eventually do. This was easy to use and is very small and light. The short USB cord might be a problem in some applications, especially with towers. It shouldn't be a problem with laptops.

This hard drive has been great so far. It is extremely fast when transferring my videos I record on my phone, which are easily a gig. It has no problem transferring my files, unlike when I'm transferring from my USB flash drive and it slows down during. I may buy another for travelling with. It can easily fit in your pocket.

We decided to have an external portable solid state drive with our new computer system. We needed 1TB capacity. This unit does not remain connected to our computer but is used solely to back up the drives on the computer. Have used it twice since we purchased it and each time it was speedy.

Works great. Lots of storage space. Light and easy to use.

Wow this SSD saved my BUTT. Great for storage expansion (especially if you’re like me and bought a 128gb MacBook). I use it to run full Adobe programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and even AfterEffects) to save space on my internal hard drive. Not to mention it’s nice to have a reliable backup of all my files on the same device.

I bought this to quickly expand the available memory for my ps5 games are getting larger in size and for now while I mostly play my ps4 games I can throw them on this hard drive and save space for other things. Loads very fast since it's solid state and super compact so I can talk with me. Best portable around in my opinion

Wanted medium by which to make bootable backup for an iMac I had purchased. This had USB 3.1 Gen 2 connectivity and was available through Best Buy where the points earned through the computer purchase made its purchase quite affordable. Reviews I had read prior to purchase were favorable. It came promptly and worked perfectly. Very pleased with purchase.

Life saving as it enabled me to save all my files from a lifeless PC. I needed a new drive to download all my files, etc from my deceased PC. Could have gone with a standard hard drive but having upgraded all my PCs from Hard Drives to SSDs, I will never return to Hard Drives. I had only 104 GB used of 238GB available space on my dead PC’s SSD but needed a much larger SSD for everything else to be salvaged from my PC. This Sandisk 1TB SSD now has only 160GB free of usable 931GB. I am using it as a portable backup to my both my main & travel PCs which will be handy for the next time I need to transfer to a new or resurrected PC. Being a SSD, it is quieter than a mouse is never hotter than warm has a heavy duty although very short connecting cable that keeps the drive quite stable at my PC’s side. It has a rubberized coated casing which helps keep it dry, stable and somewhat cushioned. It has a sizable pass-through hole in the case top I presume for attachment to something else. I’d not like having this dangling from my key ring though! I not only like it a lot, but find it thoroughly useful and easy to slip into my pocket for transportation. Also it is a Sandisk product! It’s priced very reasonably for a SSD and I’d highly recommend this to anyone needing a very portable external backup/Solid State Drive.

*Be sure to delete and don't use the crappy Sandisk Vault system BS! This thing is so sleek and amazing! So easy to use and extremely portable. Practically fits anywhere. Super fast via usb-c. Highly recommend! Just wait for a good sale Feels cheap because it's light but don't be deterred. Remember it is Solid State Drive

Fantastic little storage device which I'm using for backup of photos from my main hard drive. Transfer times, even over basic USB, were very impressive. It certainly beats burning DVDs for backup, and is easily portable for travel.

surprisingly small and light, looks durable. the transfer speed is fantastic. a pouch would be nice to store the drive and the cable together. Think over what you want to use it for (PC, Mac or both) and reformat with smaller cluster size to save space.

This mighty and tiny drive is perfect for offloading large files and libraries from my MacBook. After months of remote learning I had amassed gigabytes of video files on my computer. I didn't want these to take up the space on my laptop nor did I want to lose them in case I need them for next year's students. I was able to quickly connect this to my laptop, format the drive to the right type, and very quickly copy over nearly 40GB of files. It took longer to learn how to safely move files than it did for the files to transfer! This lightweight drive can travel anywhere with me so I know my files will be available in the blink of an eye.

I bought this for backing up my pictures while on vacation. It is extremely compact. Because I could keep the back up on this drive in my front pocket, I was able to leave my laptop in the hotel and not have to worry about losing my pictures. The design seems rugged and well constructed.
