I bought this drive to supplement the minimal storage on my ultrabook. It has performed nearly as fast as the internal SSD, leaving my old backup hard drives in the dust. It has easily been detected with every machine I've used it with, including my smart phone. Great purchase with months of reliability so far.

My main purpose to buy this SSD is: can I store video movies/clips for a long time (years to come)?; someone advised me that this device will do the job, but I never had tried this until today. My experience is: I had recorded video movie clips (eg. wedding, birthday ceremonies, etc) with a Sony HD camcorder & I stored them in a 3.0 flash drive 3-4 years ago. Un-fortunately, recently, when I played or reviewed it, the movie is not as good as when I initially recorded several years ago & also the movie had stopped playing several times during its course. Could someone, who has experience in video recordings, give me some opinion or comment? Thank you.

Much quicker than a flash drive and only about 2x2 inches (less than 3 times bigger than a flash drive).

I decided to try and external ssd while I wasn’t disappointed I wasn’t impressed I would always spend the extra hundred to buy an internal SSD and would always recommend Samsung by far. It’s prolly one of the single most noticeable upgrades you can put on a device. I use the sanddisk external solely for holding onto things I do not use often and will push it back into my Samsung if I want to use it. I would recommend if ur going to spend the money on any SSD always get an internal first then an external but that’s just my opinion. My rating all depends what u want to spend and what u wwna use it for ..

Awesome product, have 2 and they work great. Being said, the tech is that of a thumb drive & ihese are over top expensive! Not per Best Buy, but per the manufacturer

Great SSD and very portable. Backed up all my photos and still have plenty of room!!

This drive works great with my MacBook. I just plug it in and it works. It is fast and cheap for the portable SSD market. The bottom has a rubber base so it won't slide around, which is nice. It has a rubber shock absorbing ring around the corners to help against dents. Overall very good and great value for someone who needs a portable SSD. I would recommend.

This solid state drive works great. It is recognized extremely fast and transfers data fast as well.

This SSD offers encryption for sensitive files. It is shock and temperature resistant so can take some rough handling. I have other SanDisk products and have never had any problems whatsoever, and expect this product will be as dependable.

Previously I had a traditional external hard drive - but one two many international trips resulted in irrecoverable data. This unit is very light, compact and solid state - data is safe even through multiple airport transfers.

This extrernal hard drive went far beyond my expectations. Sleek thin design that seems to leave little internal room for anything to shift or move from impact. Flash storage is exceptionally fast as expected. Couldn't be happier

I use the SSD for holding and playing back samples of music instruments. Some sample sets are several gig large so I need a fast drive for playback. This fits the bill and the price is not too expensive for an SSD.

Nice little drive. I have a big iMac computer, PC, laptop and MacBook Pro. No problem. I do cell and PC extraction and analysis and the it is plenty fast.

I bought this for storage of home videos while I was editing. The compatibility was seamless and transfer was very fast.

Installed Sierra to set up as external hard drive on MacBook Air for editing/storing video and pictures. Perfect for my requirements.
