It needs to be plugged into an outlet to work, so that's one less plug I can use, but it's worth it for the storage capacity. I love having all my games and apps being accessible at any time, and with room to spare! Definitely, worth it! Would highly recommend.

Large Capacity but slow

I store lots of images on my external drives. I was really disappointed in the speed of this drive. I have a couple of folders that are very large with lots of images in them. It takes a minute or two for the drive to bring up the full list of all the files in the folder. I have another drive from Western Digital that accesses the same set of files 20 fold faster than this drive. Since this is a backup drive, it is tolerable, but if this were my main go to drive I would have had to return it.

They have always worked well for me. Previous models I have purchased had a built-in USB hub - which I never used. This one does not.
