I bought this to replace my older NAS hard drive that was only 500gb and several years old. This new drive is very user friendly compared to the old. Basically plug and play. The sale price was a great bargain for this size storage. The only downsides are the physical size of the unit compared to my older one, it's nearly twice as large. Also this device has a fan that can take some getting used to the sound, but it's not any louder than my older unit.

I bought this yesterday because I got a geek pro camera and wanted to start playing with video editing. I have a desktop pc and a mac book pro as well as iPhone and iPad air 2. The part about connecting all your devices, not really true. The app for the iPad and iPhone is a waste of time and space. What is does do and does pretty well, is provide me with 3tb of shared space between my desktop and my laptop. And for $140 bucks thats not bad. I keep going back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. Someday Seagate might ask a real developer to take a look at the app and then the product would be as advertised. Would I recommend this to a friend? Yea I would so long as they knew that it is not fully functional

I've been going wireless in the home and what better way to connect all my devices than this piece of technology! Quick connect, easy install and my smart devices recognized it on the network right away. Very happy with this item. It's sleek and quick and quite the powerhouse, would highly recommend it for price/value/functionality.

I bought this primarily to make my ebook and music library available to the rest of the family. The setup procedure was straightforward. I plugged it into my router. It immediately wanted to do a firmware update, which took about 10 min. Once it was done, it rebooted and I immediately saw the public storage space under the Network section of my PC. Copying files seems reasonably fast when doing small chunks, however the library I wanted to share is over 100 GB in size, so I set the initial copy going and went to bed. It had finished without incident by morning. I can't speak to how well any of the other features work, since I didn't purchase it with the intention of using them. For what I wanted, a simple networked storage device on a network of Windows 7 PCs, it's doing an excellent job.

This drive is awesome. The only flaw I find, is the lack of documentation within the box. I initially set it up with my own knowledge and the next day did some research. I found Seagate has all kinds of tutorials and apps to help organize your files. Once I got those installed, I redid the set up and was a MUCH better experience. Streaming music on any device, viewing pictures on any device is just awesome.

I absolutely love this product. It was almost exactly what I was looking for. It says you're able to access this device any where in the world... Yea as long as you don't have an IOS device!! Supposedly they are aware of this issue and working on it. Meantime let me use my android :/ I have more IOS devices by choice so this came as a bummer. I hope they fix this update sooner than later. I love best buy btw :) it's not there fault

This is a very good product, I can access pictures and videos on my Smart TV. The only drawback is the videos stop once in a while to buffer, which is kind of irritating. Otherwise I like having the cloud it is another backup for everything that I have on my computer or iPhone. The good place to put your pictures music videos to free up space for your iPhone or your iPad.

I needed additional storage and backup, and this Seagate fits the bill. Offers tons of storage, easy setup and connectivity, and has all the apps I need to manage it from multiple devices. I highly recommend this storage device.

nice addition to home network, good for streaming as well as storage.. although as cloud device it can use some improvement as remote features are a bit limited I would still recommend this device on storage capacity alone

It does what it's suppose to do, but it is slow retrieving the information. Play back has been no problem, just accessing the info. I also like the amount of information (3T) that you can add to it and that you can play it over a Google dongle using your phone, tablet or computer.

The Seagate Personal Cloud 3 terabyte external hard drive, is great. It works perfectly. If your computer is hooked into it with an Ethernet, you can download your whole computer into it quickly. Whereas if you're trying to download your computer into it wirelessly, it does take quite a while. I can play content from the device to the TV set in the living room from my samsung s5 and the chromecast. I really like it. The technical Support that you get from the company is pretty good. I was having a little trouble hooking it up, and they helped me figure it out quickly. It also works with all operating systems even windows 10. And for the price you can't beat it. Lots of storage space. I would recommend this Seagate to anyone.

Great network storage device for consumers looking for an easy way to access files, images, and media using any device on the network. Very easy to set-up and start using immediately. Transfer speeds over WiFi are surprisingly fast (with good internet plan)...I'm able to transfer files at a similar speed to USB 3.0 flash drives. The mobile app is useful for anyone that wishes to access media files while away from home. For some reason I'm unable to access my doc files (office - work, excel, powerpoint, etc) but can easily access my videos, music, and pictures. To Summarize - great purchase for the price; especially for entry-level / plug-n-play users.

This is my second Seagate cloud drive, and even though the first one that I bought a couple years ago works well, this one blows it out of the water. The file access speed when you are using it off of the same wifi network is just as fast as if I was loading or saving something to a thumb drive. The remote access using the Seagate sDrive app is slightly slower but it is still fast enough to work productively from it. Hands down this product earned all five stars with no hesitation.

This product transfers at speeds that are faster than my Wi-Fi moves at. The device also has a huge data capacity. Enough for a family of 7 devices.

I purchased this ONLY after trying the WD version first and absolutely disliking it. The WD was not user friendly to set up or use and was extremely complicated. I understand tech and networking so most things come pretty simple to me. The WD version took hours to set up and ended up crashing, causing me hours online with support only to determine it was defective. Luckily, I had nothing important and off to Best Buy I went. That exchange brought me the Seagate Personal Cloud. Setup was a breeze in comparison and I was up and running in under an hour. I liked that I could plug in another Seagate USB portable HD I had to the side of this unit and share all of the information to my mobile devices. I liked that it allowed iTunes syncing of over 2,000 songs in my library and I could stream them anywhere from my mobile device. I liked that I could view literally anything I had stored in my cloud...anywhere. However, storing things to the device is EXTREMELY slow. It is not directly connected to your home PC (or in my case...Mac), so moving files is done through your wireless network and again...slowwwwwww. I also had issues setting up an account to link my wife's mobile device to the unit. I followed all of the instructions, sent the email invite (three times even) and it just would not work. In the end, the unit began overheating, going even slower and making a high pitch squeal and it too went back to Best Buy. No issues there and they were great about the return. Until the technology improves and allows the direct connection to my home network (versus wireless to improve speed) and it just overall works better and smoother...I think I will wait for an updated version.

I found set up to be a bit clunky, I had to manually look up the ip of the drive following the instructions then map the drive on my windows laptop. IPs on the local network are dynamic so of course the first time I rebooted the router, the drive is not found. Probably a way to make this work better on my home network but not really worth it.
