Very powerful suction. I just vacuumed and went over it again with the new one and was amazed to see how much still was picked up. The different areas that have a light are a nice touch. I really appreciate the light on the hose. It helps while doing the stairs.

I was uncertain on the brand. I previously owned a Dyson big ball standup, which i have had for many years. Dyson no longer had the replacement parts available so I started researching a replacement using the sites like consumer reports and popular mechanics etc.. Shark products were at the top. I now see why. It is an incredible machine that can handle a miriade of surfaces. I highly recommend it.

If you own a German Shepherd, you know the 'tumbleweeds' of fur are a daily battle. I bought this vacuum specifically to handle the heavy shedding, and it has exceeded every expectation. ​Most vacuums claim to be 'pet pro,' but they usually clog or lose suction within minutes of meeting GSD hair. This one is different—it picks up every single strand without a struggle. It’s powerful, efficient, and actually keeps my floors fur-free. If it can handle my dog’s coat, it can handle anything. Highly recommend for anyone dealing with high-shedding breeds!

The vacuum works really well. It is definitely the best one we have purchased in a long time and is extremely efficient when it comes to cleaning huge messes. It stores really nicely and is easy to clean.

My Dyson Pet broke and I got this as a replacement. It is great. I wish there was a longer extension for cleaning up high or behind furniture, but other than that it is very powerful and gets the pet hair way better than the Dyson Pet.

This item was such a welcome upgrade from my old vacuum cleaner. With a sleek look and great maneuverability, this is a joy to use. The power that it provides makes it usable on any surface. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new vacuum cleaner.

the best vacuum i have owned in years, after trying multiple vacuums this one is the best by far. I read so many reviews to try and find something that would work well and i finally found it. I vacuumed a rug in our house three times the day of buying this once with our old vacuum, once with another we were trying out, and finally a third time with this. The canister was full of dog hair and some sand. I was beyond impressed with its abilities. My only complaint is we have small lightweight rugs around for our senior dog and it will not vacuum them they get bound up, maybe theres a way around this but i havent found it yet.

After 20 years it was time to replace my Dyson. It wasn't getting the cat hair out of the carpet. I saw Shark products on tv. WOW! Shark is just as good, if not better, than Dyson & a lot less money. The model I went with is a bit heavy, as other reviewers have mentioned. But it is manageable. The dust bin is a decent size. I will be looking into some of the accessories available as it only came with 3.

We were in need of a new vacuum as the 20 plus year old Dyson is coming to end of life. After much research we decided on this model Shark. Highly rated and reviewed l, the other reason we went with the Shark was the detachable canister that allows one to not take the whole unit with you when doing stairs or needing to get into tight spaces. So far we love that this model switches from different surfaces, and is much quieter than the older Dyson. Only giving it 4 stars as we have not really gotten the full experience of this vacuum and hope what we like so far either stays the same or exceeds our expectations.

I like the easy way to switch between floor, low pile carpet and high pile carpet. There is a detect option that will take care of it for you and detect when clean as well. Chord length is fantastic, other options do not have as long of a chord. Great suction, used my old vacuum, then used my new one and the tank almost filled!

I love the Shark Power Tech Upright Vacuum! It has so much power and picks up all of the cat hair! This vacuum sucks!!! LOLOL

Best Shark I've purchased yet. This thing is powerful. Cleans amazing. I have 1 down side to it, it is heavy. Otherwise it's great. Definitely recommend.

Plenty of suction power. It seems to pick up everything and seamlessly goes from hardwood to carpet with the "Detect" Technology. A little on the heavy side is the only thing especially if you are hauling it up stairs.

Impressive. We are replacing a 20 year old Dyson. In researching, it seems like everyone agrees the Shark PowerDetect is the superior vacuum tech currently. This thing lives up to the hype. Changes suction depending on surface and direction, and picks up way more dirt than our old Dyson. Only two downsides so far- the suction is so powerful that it lifts area rugs, so you need to use the hand attachment; and the canister doesn't hold as much as our old Dyson so you need to empty frequently. That's it. Otherwise this is a five star product and the value is there for the price.

Great vacuum. A bit heavy and I hate cords but the cordless vacs just don't do a good enough job. I finally had it with my old cordless ($$$) and bought this as the reviews were amazing. They weren't wrong. This thing sucks in a great way. I am amazed at how well it cleans and I love the light on the vacuum head so you can see all the dirt you used to miss. Highly recommend.

We have two huskies and our Dyson wasn’t cutting it. This was recommended to me by another husky family and I was shocked how well it has performed! We use it daily for about a month now, no issues and a great price. Highly recommend.

If I had to make a decision all over again, I would have purchased a less expensive Shark vacuum. I don't need all the bells and whistles this model provides. Otherwise, it works fine.
