After 20 years it was time to replace my Dyson. It wasn't getting the cat hair out of the carpet. I saw Shark products on tv. WOW! Shark is just as good, if not better, than Dyson & a lot less money. The model I went with is a bit heavy, as other reviewers have mentioned. But it is manageable. The dust bin is a decent size. I will be looking into some of the accessories available as it only came with 3.

We were in need of a new vacuum as the 20 plus year old Dyson is coming to end of life. After much research we decided on this model Shark. Highly rated and reviewed l, the other reason we went with the Shark was the detachable canister that allows one to not take the whole unit with you when doing stairs or needing to get into tight spaces. So far we love that this model switches from different surfaces, and is much quieter than the older Dyson. Only giving it 4 stars as we have not really gotten the full experience of this vacuum and hope what we like so far either stays the same or exceeds our expectations.

Does a great job. I love how it adds the turbo as needed, and how quiet it is. I have 9 cats and it can keep up with all of them.

Love the suction in this vacuum, it is easy to Maneuver but is a heavy push. I would still recommend it.

I like the easy way to switch between floor, low pile carpet and high pile carpet. There is a detect option that will take care of it for you and detect when clean as well. Chord length is fantastic, other options do not have as long of a chord. Great suction, used my old vacuum, then used my new one and the tank almost filled!

First time I’ve spent actual money on a vacuum and I’m so thankful I did. I want to use it CONSTANTLY. Works on every part of my house and vehicle, the lift away feature is amazing and the detect feature makes changing floors to carpet etc a breeze.

I absolutely love my new Shark PowerDetect upright vacuum! From day one it has made cleaning so much easier and more effective. The suction is incredibly strong — it pulls up dirt, dust, and pet hair that other vacuums always seemed to miss. I especially appreciate the DuoClean Detect Technology that automatically boosts power when it senses hidden debris, so I feel confident that my floors are actually clean.  The self-cleaning brushroll is a huge bonus — even with two shedding dogs in the house, hair doesn’t get wrapped around the brush and slow me down. The XL dustcup means fewer trips to empty it, which saves time and keeps cleaning streamlined.  It’s easy to maneuver across hard floors and carpet alike, and the added tools make getting into corners and tight spots much simpler. Overall, this vacuum feels well built and powerful — a noticeable upgrade over my old upright. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a thorough, no-nonsense cleaner!

I love it, it’s a little heavy but maneuverable. I replaced a Dyson animal with this and got a little pushback from Housekeepers; today they said it has really strong suction. I’m thinking that’s a good thing, they’ll get use to it.

Like all my other shark vacuums before this one is amazing. Great on both carpet and hard floors, great Suction power, the power cord has plenty of length. I love this vacuum. I owned a previous version about 5 years ago. It’s still running as good as normal. I still have it. I use it downstairs in our finished basement and laundry room areas.

I like this vacuum. Great suction, good overall design. Previously had a shark vacuum and purchased this one only because it was getting old and thought it was time for a new one (7 years old). I hope this one is as durable. Only drawback is having to repurchase attachments and I wish there was a rolling canister attachment like my other one had. Other than that, great vacuum.

This is not a small vacuum cleaner, nor is it particularly light. When set on automatic floor sensor, the motor seems to slow and then increase speed, almost randomly. Because we've only used the vacuum a couple of times, I don't think it's a result of the sensors being dirty. I would not recommend this vacuum if you own pets that shed or track dirt into your house. The canister supposed holds about 1/2 gallon, but when pet hair is involved, it fills quite quickly. The hose is not very long. You have to partially disassemble the vacuum and then carry the canister around when you're cleaning stairs or anything that requirers more the few feet of hose. One positive is that the canister is easy to empty and does not require a lot of shaking, unlike the Dyson Pet Ball.

We're long time Shark vacuum owners and finally had to replace our older model Shark upright. This new unit has the power, suction and versatility we need given we have mostly hardwood floors accented with area rugs. The automatic adjustment floor is fantastic!

Amazing! This sweeper is so crazy powerful. We have three dogs, and all of them are shedders. The power is incredible and you definitely cannot tell we have so many dogs after using this. Got it for $350 on a Black Friday deal and I feel like this is worth at least double!

Handles nice, great suction power! Just wish the cord wasn’t so stiff, they used to be more flexible.

Very well built vacuum. A little heavy but very easy to maneuver. Great edge cleaning and extremely good suction. Transitions seamlessly from hard wood to the rugs. Would definitely recommend.

Best vacuum we've ever owned. Its amazing how well this vaccum works. Picks up so much its scary. My only thing is change is how it detaches for vacuuming stairs. It should have a longer hose thats more flexible.

I was uncertain on the brand. I previously owned a Dyson big ball standup, which i have had for many years. Dyson no longer had the replacement parts available so I started researching a replacement using the sites like consumer reports and popular mechanics etc.. Shark products were at the top. I now see why. It is an incredible machine that can handle a miriade of surfaces. I highly recommend it.

I love, love, love this bad boy. Like WOW !!! This little powerhouse gets the job done so well sometimes I think I'm imagining how well my floors are vacuumed. It just seems to good to be true. Never had a vacuum like this, it's smart IQ technology is beyond fantastic. I say once you've had a shark duo, there's no going back, Spoiled for life !

This item was such a welcome upgrade from my old vacuum cleaner. With a sleek look and great maneuverability, this is a joy to use. The power that it provides makes it usable on any surface. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new vacuum cleaner.
